Underbart hus, privat pool och 10 minuters promenad till stranden

Detta är ett annex som konverterades i ett hus med 4 sovrum med privat pool och möblerad uteplats för utomhusbruk som äter måltider tillagade i den inbyggda BBQ. Det ligger i ett lugnt läge, bara 3 minuters promenad till centrum av Alvôr med stormarknader och bekvämligheter. Smakfullt inredda, alla sovrummen är moderna och tre av dem har svitdusch och har AC, med direkt tillgång till poolterrassen (2 tvåbäddsrum och ett sovrum med dubbelsäng - ett tvåbäddsrum har direkt oberoende åtkomst från poolterrassen). extra tvåbäddsrum är ett litet sovrum speciellt för barn med AC också.
Alvor har ett antal bra restauranger med acceptabla priser. Det är en härlig gammal fiskeby som nyligen har blivit en populär plats för semester. Det erbjuder bra mat, glada människor och fantastiska stränder. Stränderna är fantastiska med stenar, härlig sand och unika vågor. Det är en halvtimme promenad till närmaste golfbanor.

The Village: själv är en labyrint av kullerstensgator och skuggiga små torg med massor av härliga barer och caféer. Den ursprungliga 1600-talets församlingskyrka byggdes om efter jordbävningen 1755 och har fortfarande ett bra exempel i sin huvuddörr för hantverk i den Manuelina era arkitekturen. Den lilla byn Abidaca, belägen i en sluttning öster om Alvor, har spår av en romersk bosättning. Det finns ganska många brittiska ex-pats här men det verkar inte påverka byn.
Maten
Restaurangerna här är utmärkta; kvaliteten på maten är långt överallt någon annanstans i Algarve. Se till att du provar den färska fisken, särskilt sardinerna. Vi åt i en annan restaurang varje kväll och blev inte besvikna en gång, vädret är det maten, den oklanderliga servicen eller bara inredningen och restaurangen, jag kan inte tänka på en enda sak att klaga om. Tyvärr var vårt besök här tillbaka dagarna innan jag började lägga märke till det

Fiskebyn Alvor ligger vid flodmynningen av floden Rio Alvor. Det är välkänt i Algarves historia eftersom kung João II dog där 1495.
Även om jordbävningen utplånade det mesta av den traditionella moriska byn 1755, kan du fortfarande se rester av Alvors historia på platser som 1500-talets Igreja Matriz med dess vackra Manueline valv och pelare.
Trots en ständig utveckling sedan turismens början på 1960-talet (särskilt på östra sidan) är byggnaderna huvudsakligen låghöjda och charmen i den gamla staden med de smala kullerstensgatorna som leder ner till hamnen i flodmynningens lagun resterna.

Fantastic location! Great villa!

We arrived at the villa in the middle of the night & a lovely lady was waiting to welcome us.The villa was amazing! Lovely sized pool with enough sunloungers for the 8 of us.There was plenty of crockery, cutlery etc. Great facilities & lovely bedrooms.The owner Lena was really lovely & helpful & was available by email at any time.Location was fantastic! 3 min walk takes you to a lovely cafe/bar with cheap drinks. 10 mins walk to the centre of Alvor with a great selection of cafe's, bars, restaurants & lovely gift & boutique shops.20 mins walk to a lovely, clean, large beach. We even went on a lovely boat ride to watch the sunset.To summarise, a fantastic villa in a perfect location. We would definitely recommend it & we will be returning. Thanks Lena.

Adult family holiday

Just returned from a great holiday with our grown up children Had a great time , villa as described , plenty of room Really enjoyed the outside patio for breakfast and relax time Excellent location , lots of bars and restaurants nearby . An easy walk to choice of 2 supermarkets so no need for a car Superb beach within waking distance Enjoyed the pool , which is larger than most villas we have previously stayed at All in all a really enjoyable holiday

Relaxing Spring Break

A well proportioned property in a great location. We are a group of 7 ladies, who regularly take weekends breaks and an annual holiday in the sunshine. The villa is located on a lovely quiet street, within easy walking distance to the centre of Alvor. All bedrooms were well equipped, the smallest was sufficient for our needs, but would have been a bit of a squash if we had 8 adults. Beds were comfortable and bedding was great, with a washing machine for laundering sheets in-between changes). Good secure private sun terrace and pool, not overlooked and minimal noise from other villas heard. Sunbeds were comfortable with cushions and beach towels provided and easily moved into sunny spots which was all day round. All bathrooms were clean and functional. Towels and bathmats were good. Hot water was extremely hot, showers were forceful although was running cooler by the 7th shower of the evening (understandable).Would definitely stay here again, our hosts were on call if we needed them (we didn't) and left us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Wold absolutely recommend - we will be returning in future.

Amazing!!

Fabulous stay at Casa Joana. Location perfect, supermarket only a few minutes walk, restaurants and shops all within 10 minute walk. Villa was absolutely perfect, very clean and had everything we needed Children had an absolute ball in the pool. Lena was always available of you needed anything. We will definitely be back!! So sad to be home!!!

Perfect location

We had a wonderful time at casa Joanna in April 2019. The villa has everything you need and is in a fantastic location as it’s only a 5 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants and has two great supermarkets close by. The outside space is perfect for a relaxing break.

The property was as advertised. We had a couple of issues but when communicated to the owner were resolved immediately, which we appreciated. The accommodation was a bit too tight for 8 ladies.

Great house in a perfect location

Casa Joana has everything you need. Lovely pool and outside space, three bathrooms and a well stocked kitchen area. The location is very residential and quiet, 5 mins walk to town, 15 mins to the beach. Excellent value for money. Our host Lena was so lovely, all the way through from the booking process to the end of our stay. Thank you for a lovely winter sun holiday in Alvor!

This property is located in a quiet residential street 5 mins from central Alvor. Maria Helena is a fantastic host, friendly and quick to respond. A lovely person to deal with. Property is clean and well appointed. Great outdoor area (pool / loungers and shaded patio / table for family to sit around).

Magnificent rental property

We stayed in June ‘24 for 11 nights - we are a family of 8 with ages ranging from 3 to 79. This is a wonderful property to stay at for a family or friends group. All on 1 level with 3 decent sized bedrooms and a 4th (twin) which is small. The outside dining / relaxation area by the pool is superb and the pool itself is great - very private and great for adults and kids alike (albeit it’s deep so regular safety precautions must be made with children and any non-swimmers). The owners live nearby and are very attentive to your needs and deal with any emerging issues promptly and efficiently. Overall highly recommended. Alvor generally is a superb holiday venue. Superb restaurants and bars and very chilled out … we will be returning (again and again) ! Thank you.

Great house with everything in reach

The house was very convenient, it had everything you need for a pleasant stay. Everything you see on the pictures is there and good shape. Only 2 minutes to Alvor downtown, and a 10 minute walk to the beautiful beach of Alvor. Alvor beach has nice waves if you like body boarding or surfing and some nice beach restaurants. 2 sunbeds with shade roof are only 10 or 12 euro for a day. Many good restaurants in Alvor and a big supermarket (Pingo Doce) in just 3 minutes’ walk from the house. Maria Helena is very helpful, she even arranged a Hammock for our daughter (thank you Lena)

Great stay , just a bit dated to the pictures but on the.side we stayed for 11nights the bathrooms & the bedrooms all ad a fullclean & bedding change half way threw stay wich we wasnt expecting , kids had great time the pool was amazing &ever thing in walking distance , , would fully reccomend this property , thanks maria

Very misleading property which needs a lot of updating

The property is very tired with most items needing replacement. Sun-beds were broken, the kitchen with very few items to cook for a large group, uncomfortable beds and most importantly it was not clean at all. In a positive the pool is fab (although misssing tiles) and the location of the villa is fab. The owner also feels they can walk into the property anytime without knocking as well as all of the staff, which is far from ideal. As a final point the WiFi is next to useless!

Amazing property with lovely host

Communication before we stayed was great. The villa was spotless when we arrived and all ready to go. It's in a great location, we walked 95% of the time to all the different places we wanted to see. Pool was lovely to have as the weather was unusually warm, and although cold (it was April) the kids loved it. Host was discreet but attentive to anything we needed during our stay. All bedrooms were a good size and the outside eating area was dry even when we had a few rain storms. The supermarket was within walking distance, as was the beach, childrens play ground, all the main strip of restaurants, thenature board walk, the crazy golf places etc. Couldn't have wished for a better place. One of the 4 bedrooms is only accessible via the pool area, which was fine for us, but something to be aware of as it did mean we had to remember to bring the front door key to use the kitchen in the night. It had it's own ensuite bathroom so no real need to go back to the main house once you've turned in for the night. One of the twin rooms also had no direct access to the outside/ pool area which was great for the kids room as we knew they wouldn't be able to stray outdoors and bear the pool during the night. The washing machine and dish washer added to the easyness of the holiday and we're used well! Definitely would recommend to everyone

-verschmutzte Auflagen - sehr schlecht abfließende Duschen - Schimmel an Vorhängen, Dusche und Klimaanlage - dreckige Schubladen und Schränke - nicht isoliertes Kabel an einer Nachtisxhlampe - Spinnenweben an der Küchentür Der Aussenbereich mit Pool ist okay bis auf die verschmutzten Auflagen. Die Lage zum Ort ist super.

This is just a wonderful villa in the perfect location! Lovely large pool and great outdoor and indoor space. We absolutely had the best time (6 adults) Lena our host was so Accommodating and extremely helpful. We have booked for next year already!
