SGI Family Retreat

Had a wonderful time in this lovely 4 br home. Everything was super clean, the pool was great and communication with the owner was superb. We would def rent this unit again for our next trip.

Perfect Getaway

This house is perfect for a beach getaway! Very short walk to beach and short drive to the island center with restaurants and stores. The house was very clean and cozy, and well stocked with anything you might need. Our host was also very communicative and provided great details before the stay to help plan and pack.

Great rental!

So close to the beach and the perfect dog-friendly rental! Laura was a great host and checked in with us to see if we needed anything. Would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone looking to stay on St. George Island!

Fall adventure with friends

There were 4 of us adults and our large dog. We came down to SGI to go to Porchfest and enjoy SGI. This property was great for us - close to the beach, a great yard for our dog, wonderful pool and lovely deck for enjoying coffee and conversation. The weather was perfect and the host was super helpful.

Great family trip!

We had the opportunity for a last minute trip with my daughter, her husband and my two “granddogs.” This house is perfect for pups - the fenced in area was great! The house was also great for adults - we had plenty of room, the home was clean and the pool was lovely. Walk to the beach was minimal. We would highly recommend!

Wonderful kid, dog, and adult stay

House was great. Pool was wonderful. Everything we needed for the doggie and the toddler. Well stocked. Beach is a short walk. Only 2 “need improvement” items: drawers/cabinets in kitchen have badly peeling laminate (paper) and child/dog gate at top of deck steps is hard to open/close.

Great place near the beach

The owner was very helpful throughout the renting process. The house is a great place to have dogs and is very close to the beach which is dog friendly.

Our Happy Place

This was our 4th trip to SGI and this home was by far our favorite. The home was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. With a family of 8 adults and a baby we never felt crowded. The location to the beach was a short walk to the beach and the beach was beautiful as always! Laura messaged me a couple of weeks before our vacation and told me to go look at pictures that they added a pool! That became our favorite afternoon activity after being in the heat all morning at the beach. The pool area is beautiful! We would definitely rent here again!

Great house for a beach stay with your dog!

Fenced back yard was great for our 2 dogs. Some of the denser parts of the landscaping was a challenge at times as our dogs would like to go into the bushes where we could not see them well. Kitchen is well appointed. Overall we had a great stay!

Fun, Cozy Family Stay

We loved our long weekend at Family Tradition. Laura was a spectacular hostess: lovely and super responsive. The house is beautifully appointed, everything you need for a great gathering. The house is well laid out so feels both spacious and yet cozy. Short walk to the beach and fully equipped with everything you could need. All in all, a wonderful stay.

A great stay!

We had the best week! The house had everything needed it was like being at home away from home. We loved playing corn hole in the evenings. The kitchen was very well stocked for all our cooking needs! The walk to the beach was so easy with the access right across in front of the house. We hope to be back very soon!

Family Traditions

We had so much fun at Family Traditions! The quaint decor gave it that special “ beach vibe” The location was just a short walk to the beautiful beach! The outdoor shower was large and amazing! If we ever visit SGI again, would definitely rebook!

Spring 2022 on St. George Island, FL

Terrific pet friendly house. Great back yard with lots of shade and plenty of room for our fur babies to run around. Inside the house had ample room for the 5 adults. The bay side of island was perfect for watching the sunset.

Met all our needs

The house met all our needs, the priority for us was the close walking access to beach across the street. Next was the needs of our dogs that was met with the fenced yard that was well maintained so we did not worry about escaping dogs:)

Cozy and comfortable

Great deck space, ample parking. Short walk to the beach. Having wifi and Netflix available is awesome. The AC works great too. Housekeeping was sub par, definitely in need of a deep clean. Enjoyed my stay nonetheless.

Fun and functional

The house was great. you could be close to one another without feeling crammed or too close together, the property was quaint yet spacious. The kitchen counters were adorable. The outdoor shower was great after a day at the beach, just remember to have towels and not track water in the house! the front porch was so wonderful, the house itself felt more home like than a rental. Very welcoming and, this was our first vacation with friends and personally I think it was perfect.

Clean home friendly owner

We loved all the extra's. Owner has great beach chairs, great wagon to pull to beach. We had plenty of towels. The kitchen had everything we needed. The outdoor shower was a nice plus!! Owner has the nicest park style grill I've seen in all the years we've stayed at SGI. She also has a smoker available. The backyard would be great for pups! We loved the beach access, the path was next to house. It was an easy walk to beach.

My grandmother was one of a handful of full time residents on St. George Island when she purchased property in the 1950s. The first trips I made to the island were via ferry boat. Sometime following my grandmother's death, her house was sold.
In 1993 my mother purchased the house that I now own. My grandchildren are the fifth generation of our family to fall in love with St. George Island.
