Beläget på en 3 hektar stor egendom ligger denna stuga i en frodig skog av Ohia träd och Hapu'u träd Fern. Njut av den söta doften av ingefära som omger den här ett sovrumstugan - perfekt för en romantisk semester! Undvik Kona-kustens värme och utforska Maoko-skogen och spåren i Kaloko med utmärkt fågelskådning vid den här kalla höjden på 2300 fot. Vi ligger 2 miles ovanför den övre Mamalahoa Highway i en lantlig miljö. Bara 10 minuter till flygplatsen, staden Kona och stränder. Denna stuga har en stor ryggdäck för stjärna stirrar och njuter av din måltid. Vardagsrummet är möblerat med en bekväm dubbelsäng, skrivbord och svängbar 43-tums platt-TV som även kan ses från matsal, DVD-spelare och WiFi / streaming. Pictures cannot do the property/cottage justice- this is a spectacular rainforest paradise! Well-appointed, comfortable, and the temperature up in the forest was welcome respite from the heat in Kailua town. Host has thought of everything and communication was easy. Do not hesitate to book this property- it will be a highlight of your stay.

Fantastic Place

Clean, quiet, serene. Mary was gracious and accommodating, allowing us an earlier than normal check in after a long day.The pheasants were fun, the yard and gardens beautifully kept. A great out of the way location but still close enough to town.

We absolutely loved this amazing property! I cannot say enough about how beautiful the outdoor spaces you get to enjoy during your stay are. The owners have put so much hard work into making this a tropical rainforest oasis and it shows. The home was immaculate and had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. The pheasants coming by in the morning for treats the owners left us was the highlight of our mornings! We would love to come back soon and stay longer next time! Our two days here were amazing. Mary was such a joy to correspond with and we appreciate her so much!

Super Duper

Great location if you're not the resort type, which we aren't. Up the hill from Kona but easily accessible with a car, short 10 minute drive away. Frogs, pheasants, and other birds abound on the property. Fast and easy communication with the host. Has all the amenities of home. Would definitely stay again.

This is a great place to stay with you and one significant other. Beautiful sights and sounds, while still being close enough to town to go in if you want. Great launching point for adventures.

This place is absolutely beautiful tucked up in the rainforest. You have a beautiful view the all the plants and friendly animals. The frogs will sing you a song each night and it's just a 15 minute drive to the ocean.

Wonderful getaway in the forest

Loved this cozy place. Best thing was falling asleep listening to the frogs singing. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a wonderful, quiet place to stay in a little piece of paradise.

Loved our stay in the adorable tropical cottage

My partner and I absolutely loved staying in the tropical cottage- it was so beautiful both inside and out, and had everything we needed. We loved the visits from the pheasants every morning and falling asleep to the coqui frogs every night. The landscaping is just gorgeous, and the decorations in the cottage are lovely. The perfect place for a little romantic retreat.

Tucked away paradise.

This property is awesome. Very clean and very quiet. If you want a getaway from the crowds but close to town this is it. We had the best vacation ever. Communication with the host was easy and promp.

Magic in the cloud forest

This place was absolutely magical and we loved our time there. The rental is appointed with pretty much everything you might need. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and well manicured... It's absolutely amazing what they have done with the landscaping. At night the frogs come to life and lulled us to sleep. We really loved our stay here!

Great Stay!

Great stay, lovely location! It is a little bit outside of the centre up the hill so you are likely to get rain if there is any! Only complaint was that some gardening needed to be done at 8am one of the days which was very loud and disruptive, the internet was extremely slow and patchy and the rules listed are quite strict, especially regarding charges for losing items such as towels or kets and excess dirtiness. This wasn't an issue for us fortunately.

Honest review

Nice cottage with grounds very well maintained, all enclosed in a tropical foliage setting. Very pretty cabin well built but lacks comfort; for one, it seems does not encourage cooking. All cooking hardware from burners to toaster etc. all underneath the sink cabinets. Microwave on top of refrigerator needing effort to reach. (Needless to say, we did little cooking. Future guests should know you will be living of your luggage; no cabinets and small closet space in bedroom. That said, beautiful area; the drive, and especially the peaceful solitude of the area. As we enjoyed the whole island of Hawaii for 7 days visiting volcanos, hiking and just spending everyday at the beach was wonderful. Then to come to a nice place to unwind listening to all the night creatures from crickets to the coqui frog while constant rain, was delightful; then in the morning to be awaken by all kinds of fauna from domesticated pheasants to hens and roosters and an occasional wild pig, was entertaining.All in all a nice and value place to stay and depending on your needs and what you are looking for, a very nice place, but if you are into cooking, very limited supplies.Owners were very attentive and welcoming.

We had such a wonderful stay at this quaint and beautiful cottage! We were lucky to have it available to us for new year's eve and new year's day! What a great way to start 2019! The privacy is incredible, nestled back in the rain forest, quiet, and with a few coquis frogs singing through the night. We had everything we needed and were incredibly comfortable. The communication with Mary and Rick was on point and we look forward to returning to the cottage away from our busy adult lives on the other side of the island!

Extended Stay

My wife and I added a few days to our trip and decided to try something different from the resort area “vibe”. This location was perfect — the grounds are lush, colorful and well-maintained. Coqui frogs serenade you into the night and colorful Kalesh pheasants greet you as you enjoy morning coffee on the deck. The cabin is comfortable, inviting and well-stocked with everything you need. We were pleasantly surprised to find beach chairs, swim fins, beach towels, cooler and ice packs available as we had only been able to fit our snorkeling gear into our suitcases. Downtown is a quick drive down the hill, as is the airport, so we found this to be a great location to end our trip, hitting CostCo for gas on the way to dropping the rental car off at the airport. We hope to stay here again and take a day or two just to stay put and enjoy this special place.

The perfect tranquil retreat!

We loved our stay in this cozy, private, and serene cottage. It is exactly what we needed to relax and unwind for our first few days in Kona. The cottage is located a short drive from Kona town on it’s own piece of land on a bit of elevation (cooler nights and mornings) surrounded by rainforest. The backyard lanai is huge and has incredible rainforest views and we loved feeding the pheasants and chickens (thanks for the pheasant food!). The interior of the property is extremely well decorated. Every corner has been thought out and designed to it’s most beautiful potential. We loved the wood work on the ceiling and cabinets. Shower and bed were great. Thanks for providing coffee. Hearing the nature sounds as we fell asleep was most delightful. Mountain thunder coffee plantation is very close by and if you enjoy coffee, their free tour is a must do activity - free coffee samples and learned a lot about the Kona coffee making process. The hosts were great. Overall a great stay and we highly reccommend if you want peace and privacy.
