August 2025 Stay

What a lovely house. The floor plan is like two separate family areas joined by dining room, kitchen and family room. This was perfect for our family - grandparents, parents, and one year old. The one year old could not be heard by the grandparents if he woke up in the middle of the night, which made the parents relax. The beach access is so easy at the end of the street. We loved having the option of the bikes or beach gear. I hope we have the opportunity to stay at this wonderful house many more times. We now have cherished memories of our time in this unique house on our beloved Jekyll Island.

Anniversary Trip

Overall it was a good stay. The house does need some attention. Some of the guardrails around the rooftop sitting area are rusted and separated from the hold down posts. There was some smear stains on the sitting couch and what looked like blood on the comforter on the master bed. Outside of that, it was a good house to stay in for the week.

Lovely interesting home, quiet neighborhood

A lovely older home with an interesting split layout and all on one level (except for the screened room on the roof accessed by an outside spiral staircase). The beach access was just half a block walk. The rental company was helpful and kept in contact, asking if there was anything that we needed.I guess all in all, I would give it more like a 4 *1/2 star rating because of the Flagstone walkway going through the courtyard to the main door. They really need to do some work on filling the spaces between the flagstone... it's a real ankle-turner. We had to be very careful and do an awkward stepping-stone type of walk.The hot water was very hot and the heat worked well, which was all nice a for chilly stay in December. Except, as in some older houses, not everything works, and that thing was the fireplace... but the rental company did try to have it fixed, but to no avail. I would stay again and also work with that agency again if/when we go back to lovely Jekyll Island.

Great location but home needs a good cleaning and maintenance

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Home is in a great location and lots of space but needs a good cleaning. There were cheerios on the floor and all the drawer and cabinet handle areas were sticky and visibly dirty.The kitchen window pane is rotted and has a hole open to the outside. The master shower has lots of mold in the corners and outside on the floor. The grout needs repair. The curtains throughout the home are dirty and many have holes. Generally, the home needs some deep cleaning and maintenance. I would not stay in this home again in its current condition.

The house itself was comfortable but with a few modest improvements it could have been better. The outside was dirty and the backyard was a hazard. While every room had a tv none of them were smart tvs so there was no access to streaming channels. The cable channels available was limited. Cooking devices was adequate.The house was in a good location and quiet. Great access to the beach.

A welcomed retreat

Spring break at Jekyll Hacienda

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My son,his wife and 4yr old granddaughter met me at Jekyll Island Hacienda for a glorious week of spring break. We have done this before and keep coming back because it is so perfect for us.We were walking to the uncrowned quiet beach,seeing dolphins, finding sand dollars... We went to the playground by the put put,driftwood beach, touch tanks at Tidelands,the pool at Days Inn and walking around the old hotel among the beautiful trees. My granddaughter learned to fly a kite by herself,went in a pool for the first time,saw an alligator and went to an Irish pub. She recently learned to do an Irish jig but was disappointed when the Wee Pub had no Irish music. We enjoyed eating at Driftwood Bistro (played in their playground while waiting for our table),Tortuga Jacks and the Pantry and pizza from the pizza place. We are looking forward to going back and hopefully staying at Hacienda again.

Smooth, Serene, and Simply Sublime

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Checking in was so smooth. Received a call that the house was ready for access well before the recommended arrival time. Jekyll Realty also provided an added bonus...gift bag with a starter stay kit + a tide timeline chart—definitely appreciated for a beach walker and shell hunter. The location is so serene, with the only noise being the sound of the ocean waves (yes, the house is THAT close to the beach). We had everything we needed for our week’s stay. Highly recommend this property and Jekyll Realty!

Spacious property

Hacienda was a lovely place to stay. It is extremely convenient to everything on Jekyll Island, especially the bike route. Lots of space to move around, cook, relax. Quality cookware and appliances. Our bed was very comfortable and one of the showers was preferred. Back patio and grill were extremely useful and pleasant. The rooftop screen porch is just spectacular for a sunny warm morning. The neighborhood was very quiet and beach access just a few blocks away. The only thing we noticed was the uneven slate tiles at the courtyard entrance. It made walking a little dicey. Maybe it would be a good idea to be fill the gaps between the paver stones. Thanks for a great time. We would love to return to the Hacienda.

Great house, no toilet paper

The house is great in it’s comfort and location. The kitchen is quite nice and the fridge and dishwasher were great. My only complaint is that there is ABSOLUTELY NO hand soap or toilet paper provided for a home with 3 bathrooms and up to 6 people who could stay there. I believe this to likely be the decision of the property manager and not the owner, but come on guys, this is not a big expense for you and something very essential and simple to give your renters especially since I can tell a great deal of time and attention has been paid toward making the home a place you would want to be in. We would still like to return to the home and island at a later date, but we sincerely hope that the management can find it in their hearts to “spare a square”.

Service and home are always superb. I would recommend power washing the house. It is pretty disgusting on the outside and brings a lot of bugs with it. Also, the railings on the roof are deteriorating, so we did not use that as much as we would have. There are small upgrades needed but otherwise a fun stay.

Hacienda heaven

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second trip to the Hacienda, out of many many years of coming to Jekyll Island. We’ve always stayed in houses, and this one is definitely one of the best of all. Everything is nice here, and obviously, they care enough to upgrade things as time and frequent guests do wear things out. The website should reflect these changes, such as a Keurig AND a drip coffee maker, so people can bring the right things. I stay in rental homes almost always when I travel, and I was surprised at the items that Jekyll Realty ‘give’ you as a welcome gift. Toilet paper? Dish soap? These items should be in the home already, not like it’s some big favor they are doing for you! Otherwise, everything was wonderful.

Nice place

Really enjoyed my stay. Very nice and tranquil. Deer in backyard. Beautiful and would stay again. Hot water will scald if not careful. Extension cords in one of guest rooms may be a little sketchy.

May 2023 Stay

We had a wonderful time at Jekyll Island. Everything was so nice and laid back. The house was perfect for us! There were three married couples, so we all had our own king size bed! 🤗 (A specific perk I was looking for when trying to find a place). We loved the house, the town, and the last morning the ladies went to Driftwood Beach to watch the sunrise… WOW!!! Just WOW!!! God is such an amazing artist!!! So much beauty on this planet we take for granted. Oh, and we also had some friends (Haci & Friend two sweet deer) come and visit us on the back patio. Such a fun and amazing time here with friends!!!
