Dordogne cottages

Really lovely gite, lots of space inside and out. Well equipped kitchen, plenty of towels and toiletries provided. Ruth & Adrian were great hosts, there if needed but never intrusive. Bottle of wine in the fridge on arrival was much appreciated too. Lots to do in the local area. We had a fabulous two week stay. Beautiful hand made baskets to purchase as a souvenir too.

Very relaxing holiday, lovely spacious house with great pool which we call enjoyed. local village was close and wonderful to walk around, owners were very friendly and helpful, we highly recommend!!. Hopefully come back again one day.

Beautiful area very peaceful in the countrysideButterfly cottage was very cosy, the bed was so comfortable & huge(American king size!), we slept so well. We were lucky enough to have the pool to ourselves after the family who were staying in the cottage opposite left a few days into our stay. It was very dog friendly. There are some lovely walks although we stayed during the ‘heatwave’ with our dog so too hot for long walks. We had our own private seating area at the front of the cottage.The hosts Andy & Uliana were very friendly & approachable & good for local knowledge .You do need a car to get about. The closest town is a 10 min drive. However there is bar Tabac/Medina restaurant which is closer possibly a 45 walk. Would definitely recommended eating there, the Salmon dish was delicious. Chris and Lin’s cottage is just outside St Mondane in a beautiful, peaceful location. The cottage has one bedroom but it’s not small. The bedroom is large, the kitchen likewise. It is all beautifully furnished to a high standard, and is fully equipped with everything you could need. This was our second visit. Thank you both very much for the use of your lovely house.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Donna and Michael were very welcoming and recommended places/restaurants to visit and were always available if needed. However, they also respected our privacy. The gite is very clean, spacious and beautifully furnished. Breakfast on the decking watching the red kites over the trees and the heron passing over every day was wonderful. We feel the gite would benefit from improved access rather than having to park a vehicle and then walk down a grassy slope and in front of their home. However, this wasn't a major problem and no doubt will be addressed at a future date. We would recommend this gite in the countryside to anyone seeking a relaxing and peaceful break.

I had a wonderful stay at Sophie & Craig’s gîte. The thing that made it was the warm welcome from Sophie & Craig. It was January and so, cold, but Sophie would bring me a wheelbarrow full of logs for the wood-burning stove every morning! My dog, Jack, played happily in the garden and it was perfect for him, with lots of walks. All in all, a great stay!
