  • Charming and immaculate!

"Perfect location steps to the water and a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants as well as the ferry. Stayed here with husband and two "tween" kids who loved the freedom of running around the island and Fun Zone. Kimberly delivered a new blender within a couple hours of our informing her that the blender wasn't working. Can't wait to come back!"

  • Nice Place to spend a week.

"Stayed here with two adults and two kids. Bottom unit was perfect size with a plenty of room if any friends visit for the day. Very nice sized patio and within easy walking distance to the sand and walk. Two short blocks to the ferry and about a five-ten minute walk to the main street for the ever important Balboa Bars. Unit has super large closets in each bedroom (which they don't really tell you about) so you have a place to put all your bags and hang up your clothes. Furniture in unit is very nice and comfortable; owner says they are trying to find time to put a king sized bed into master bedroom but the queen was big enough for us. Definitely look to rent again when Balboa comes up on our destination list again."

  • Perfect Balboa Island Location

""The Balboa Experience" is unique and this home on the island was the perfect spot for our two granddaughters, ages 7 and 5, to enjoy the island fun. This very clean home comfortably housed our party of four adults and two children. Two of the bedrooms and one bathroom are upstairs and the two other bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs in a different section of the home. Outside and central to the kitchen and dining area as well as one of the downstairs bedrooms is a very private and enclosed patio where we shared many meals together. Exiting right from the front door we chose to walk the couple of blocks to the North Bay Front beach because the bay current is milder there for smaller children. Our granddaughters spent a great deal of time at the bay - a great place for sand and water play. The house is located almost equally distant from Marine Avenue where we walked for dinner as well as the famous Balboa Bars and Frozen bananas and Agate Avenue where the ferry to the mainland is located. All in all this home on Diamond provided a comfortable spot for our Balboa Experience."

  • Exceptional location

"We stayed in this darling cottage last summer and my middle school daughters insist we book it again this year. The location just can't be beat, as it's super close to town and steps to the bay. It's an easy 15 minute walk to the ferry, which takes guests over to the Balboa peninsula and the ocean. Newport Beach is my hometown but I now live on the East coast. I can't see us renting anywhere else for our annual trip to Newport. The kitchen is beautifully stocked, everything is clean and new, and the neighbors are quiet. The second bedroom is a bit small, but honestly, the pros outweigh the cons 99-1. Parking can be a challenge on the Island, but we seemed to find a spot close to the cottage almost without fail. I suspect many neighbors are year-round residents who use their garages, which leaves more street spots for visitors. Can't say enough nice things about this rental."
