"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our visit was 4 college roommates from the '70's -- now retired teachers -- having our annual "destination trip" get-together. The condo was as lovely in person as in the pictures. Gorgeous view; wonderful beach; good amenities in the condo. We visited a number of the shelling beaches on Sanibel and Captiva, but none were any better than our home beach by the condo. It was also nice to have the water for rinsing feet and washing shells as you come in from the beach. We all agreed that we wanted to come back again some year and would want -- if possible -- the same condo."

"We spent 2 wonderful weeks at Tarpon Beach 111 in December. It was our fourth time on Sanibel and our second time in this condo. It is clean and the beds, sofas and chairs are very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need if you desire to cook. The condo is nicely decorated, however we would not mind finding a nice ocean painting instead of the metal fish on the living room wall next time! The condo is located just steps away from the beach, on the third and top floor so you have great views of the ocean. We loved the lanai and spent a lot of time there when we were not out on the beach. The pool was very nice and warm and surprisingly quiet. The owner has included several beach chairs with an insulated compartment for your drinks, umbrellas and nets for shelling so all we needed to rent was bikes. Tarpon Beach is right on one of the bike trails and very close to the Bailey Tract which is wonderful for walking and wildlife watching. You are close enough to Bailey's supermarket to bike over. Some of our favorite activities are visiting the Ding Darling Preserve, kayaking at Tarpon Bay, watching the sun set while walking on the beach and of course dining at the local restaurants. The only problem that we encountered was with the front door lock. It sticks and it is difficult to lock and unlock the door from the outside. We asked maintenance to lubricate it but it did not seem to help much. It looks like it needs to be replaced. There are many condos to choose from on Sanibel but we think that Tarpon Beach 111 is perfect for us and reasonably priced so we plan on renting it again next time we'll vacation on Sanibel."

  • Beautiful!!!!!!!!

"We were four college roommates from the '70's -- now retired teachers -- who, since we live in four different states, have a destination get-together each year. Sanibel was on our bucket list and we couldn't have chosen a more beautiful place to stay. Our breakfast view from the lanai was as beautiful as the picture shows, and you see that lovely view from the living room as well. There are five buildings in the complex and we thought this one had the best view -- you can see both the lagoon and the Gulf. The location of the complex is good -- great beach and relatively close to restaurants and shopping.. It's important to be right on the beach because parking is a big issue on both Sanibel and Captive. We tried shelling on all the beaches on Sanibel and Captiva that were listed in the brochures as being good ones, but concluded that our home beach was the best one. The condo itself was beautiful and nicely appointed. Plenty of room for the four of us with comfortable beds, plenty of dishes/silver and a washer/dryer. In addition to the lovely view, the condo development has a number of gas grills and a place to wash both feet and shells when you get off the beach to go to your apartment, which keeps grit where it belongs. The development itself had a nice mix of retirees and families. We spoke with quite a few neighbors who said that they'd stayed at a number of different places over the years, but Pointe Santo was one they liked the best. Our only regret was that we didn't learn 'til the last day (from a neighbor we called the "shell lady") that the SUPER-good place to look for shells is on a sand bar fairly far from shore. So, if you see people way out there, but only in water up to their knees, you might want to join them! We did real well just staying close to shore, though. We loved both Sanibel and this particular condo. We plan to return someday for another stay and are hoping that this same apartment will still be available. It was perfect!"
