  • New 2017 Year!

"Nine of us enjoyed stay for 3 days at the cabin. We appreciate the house condition and décor for the winter season. All appliances are functional, clean air, the surfaces free from dust. The dining area fit for all of us to make nice New Year celebration. This cabin is not large and we used each little corner of it, especially the weather this time of the year kept us inside. We had a great time with the fireplace, TV, and table games. I will suggest rent this property for smaller amount of people. Eight adults fit perfect. If you have a larger company the air matrass and the linen generously provided. We found lots of great quality soft clean towels. Five of the bed matrasses are great to rest. The office couch is good for office. I would avoid using it as the night bed. In case you will get to the subdivision from Back Gate, ask the code number from owner in advance. The cabin located walking distance from the beautiful lake in the park with trails and beach. Thanks Stacy and Ken for the hospitality, great place, and their availability for any questions about it."

  • Wonderful Stay

"My stay was wondering, I took my elderly parents and the cabin was great. Didn't have to worry about things they could trip over etc., We saw turkey while standing on the porch and saw a deer when we were driving out one day. Very quiet place and was able to rest, which is what we needed. Drove to Ellijay and Blue Ridge one day and it was a great beautiful drive with all the fall colors. Rode the Scenic Railway in Blue Ridge which was wonderful."

  • Outstanding, well appointed cottage!

"We stayed here on a short getaway from the Atlanta area and absolutely loved it! The living room is large and comfortable enough for a big group, the "man cave" with pool table and darts was a fantastic perk, and the kitchen and bathrooms were extremely well appointed. Normally I worry about what we'll wish we had packed, but the owners provided all the comforts and necessities of home! The community its in was also great. We loved the hiking trails available!"

  • Family Winter Vacation - Peaceful & Relaxing

"We were pleased to find the home an accurate representation to the VRBO pages...clean, spacious, & well-equipped with all we needed for the week we were there. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked with dinnerware, silverware, pots, appliances & basic cleaning supplies. The washer & dryer is on the main floor, right off the kitchen which made it very convenient to stay on top of laundry (& they supplied detergent, which is not common for rentals) & the eating areas provided seating for at least 15, which was wonderful for our large family. The location is convenient to shopping (15 minutes to Walmart & other groceries), the gated community is quiet & well kept, & the area is beautiful. We enjoyed several outdoor adventures including daily walks on the trail below the home, sighting a large buck, several wild turkeys & many playful squirrels. We hiked to two nearby (30 min - 1hr) waterfalls: the Amicalola Falls (strenuous) in the state park & Helton Falls (easy, but desolate) in the National Forest. Both were beautiful! The Amicalola Falls State Park offers picnic areas, a playground, visitor center, the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail & camping. The Helton Falls is a bit of a drive, off the beaten path down a single lane gravel road crossing through two small creeks, but well worth the drive & uncertainty, as it is a natural beauty! It was late in the afternoon, so the temps dropped quick, as the area became shaded. We made our annual trip to Blue Ridge and Mercier Orchards. They have the BEST apple butter & homemade apple cinnamon donuts! The grounds offer a large pond with walkways around it, on-site cafe, wine tasting, apple samples, large gift store & food market of canned jams/jellies/relishes & fresh foods. During our stay, we visited local historic sites in Dawsonville. There are several nearby cities which offer quaint shops & eateries in the historic parts of their city, or if you are looking for more modern chain restaurants they have those as well. On a couple of rainy days, we relaxed at home playing games, reading, playing video games or watching TV (not a normal activity for our family). The home had a nice selection of toys for a range of ages, puzzles, & a game system for older kids. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and clear night skies from the decks. This is a home we will certainly consider again for future trips to the area."
