What an amazing house, grounds, and view. We spent a week there with our teenage children, and grandparents in tow. This is not out first visit to the Domincan Republic, but this time we chose to avoid a hotel or resort for a more authentic and independent experience. It worked, and we plan to do it again. The guest house looks over the pool, and provided proximity but also privacy for my husbands parents. The house is v elegant, but also just as comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, and the bedrooms v comfortable. Mosquito nets are provided, but to be honest the biting bugs seemed much tamer that the ones we deal with in upstate New York. As the children slept in, my husband and I swam at sunrise each day. Magical! The children are surfers, so the waves at Playa Grande were a bit hit. The beach lives up to its 'one of the most beautiful in the world' reputation. But we also loved Caleton. Local beach vendors provide a good lunch and a cold Presidente to wash it down. Domincans are such warm and friendly people that our lack of Spanish was never an issue. Indeed our local 'american' guide provided by Victor and Emmanuelle was fantastic. He was helpful, and insighful on anything we asked. Roadside BBQ chicken is a must, as is the delicious fresh yogurt on the road through Entrada are two of the insights we would like to share. The best part was that while we went on adventures with the children, my in-laws relaxed happily all day at the house enjoying the gorgeous horizon pool, reading books, dozing in the hammock. Having both options made the vacation. Thank you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Casa Luna and Cabrera were fantastic. The people, towns, beaches and meals were incredible. We had such a good time. Getting to Casa Luna from Santiago was easy - especially with the directions that Victor gave us. Casa Luna is just as it is described in this listing. It is spacious, comfortable and feels like home. It is beautifully decorated and well stocked. The beds are comfortable. My favorite things are: - the sliding glass doors that fully open to expose the house to the ocean breeze. - the two comfy outdoor lounge chairs that enable you to sit on the porch or in the yard and watch the stars. - the hammocks; I took several late afternoon naps in them. - the games provided; we loved playing several of them. Victor was very helpful in booking our stay and telling us how to access all points of interest. Lastly, you have to visit Playa Grande Beach. I have been all over the world and found it to be the most beautiful I have ever seen.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We were first surprised to use these rocky path to get up to the house. But once you get there (don't be afraid, the house is merely 5 mins away from the ocean), it is a real paradise: breath-taking 180 degrees view, house full of surprising openings and volumes, the picture of the pool is simply what you get. Great quiet place for those looking for a relaxing time. Golf lovers: 5 minutes to one of the best links I have ever played on. Chicken lovers: there is a small roadside shack just a couple of mins from the house that does something unreal to chickens that makes you want to load a dozen in your suitcase when you go. But don't coz chances are, you'll come back real quick.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Very nice and peaceful place to stay, my kids enjoyed very much, specially the striking ocean views. We are not used to that in the city where we live. Thanks Victor and Emmanuelle for the great service.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: In Casa Luna, we have brought in the perfect blend of our two cultures and experiences through the architecture, the interior design and landscaping. I am French, my husband is Dominican and we both are designers living in New York. Our son Mateo 10, our daughters Luca 8 and Catalina 6 who go to Public Schools here in Pelham get to enjoy France and the Dominican Republic on vacation as much as possible. Even though the children are American in the first place and love living here in Pelham, they feel happiest and truly at home in Casa Luna... Perhaps one day...
Why the Owner Chose Cabrera:
We have lived in New York for the past 24 years and and we have always wanted a home in the sun. After the birth of our youngest daughter, it became clear that we all needed a place to be feel and run free, without shoes and close to nature--Casa Luna is that place. We know the island quite well, and we can tell you with certainty that Cabrera is the most beautiful place in the entire island. Truly, an easy choice.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
With over 20,000 square meters of property, privacy and tranquility are both guaranteed. Sleeping in Casa Luna is truly a magical experience: the windows are wide open, a gentle breeze blows in all day long, your day is tinted by the different colors of the sun rays and often, rain falls gently onto the Cana roof at night.
