Enjoy the good life in one of Napa's finest neighborhoods. This is a tastefully restored 1940's bungalow home with everything you need to enjoy your sun-filled days in comfort and relaxation. The home includes floor-to-ceiling windows, nice landscaping, and great outdoor living with a large backyard, gas BBQ, deck, maple trees and a picnic table.
Built by Napa legend Devita, the home is light, airy, and open - a perfect vacation getaway. This house sits on a corner lot on a quiet tree-lined street. The backyard is fully fenced with locking gates. The fence is covered with vines, keeping it private and quiet. French doors open from the dining room and master bedroom to the deck and backyard, looking out through trees to the Napa hills.
You'll enjoy comforts ranging from a plush king bed in the master bedroom, to the flat screen HD t.v. in living room (and both bedrooms), a movie library, books, magazines, iPod hookup to Bose system, cable music and endless cable t.v. channels. Cook your dinner in the fully equipped tile and slate kitchen. Use the wine cooler to keep your wines the perfect temperature during your stay. Relax sipping Cabernet in a crystal Riedel glass on the deck looking out at the stars. Spend a sunny day hiking in nearby Skyline Park, and wine tasting just down the road at one of Napa's great wineries.
The house provides full amenities including high thread count cotton sheets and towels, down comforters with crisp white duvet covers, soaps, shampoos and bath salts. There are also 2 hybrid bikes for your use.
A brand new computer with high speed internet and printer is available for last minute planning and printing, maps or research. Or bring your laptop and surf wirelessly from the couch or lounge chair in the yard.
The house is 1.4 miles away from downtown Napa. Visit the nearby di Rosa Art and Nature Preserve, and local wineries like Mondavi, Cakebread, Silver Oak, BV, Alpha Omega and more. Located at the foot of highway 29 and the Silverado Trail, everything is close and easy to find. Drive 45 miles south to San Francisco and spend a day in the city.
Our visitor's guide provides maps and suggestions for local dining and wine tasting. There is also information on nearby tennis, mountain biking, road biking on Mt. Veeder, a gym with a pool, steam room and sauna, parks, outlet shopping, world class restaurants and more.

Devita Bungalow - Napa Luxury and Comfort with Outdoor Living
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Napa
We chose this investment property due to its indoor/outdoor feel, the quaint, safe, and friendly neighborhood, and the comfortable back yard to relax in.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Guests comment that the Devita Bungalow is a warm and comfortable place for their vacation stay. They are often impressed by the simple yet elegant design and that it is nicer than the pictures convey. "From the fireplace to the paint colors on the wall, to the spacious backyard, everything was perfect," wrote one guest. Our guests like the location because it is central to everything, with easy access to highway 29, leading to Yountville, St. Helena and Calistoga and all the great wineries in between.
The architecture of the house was ahead of its time and unlike most homes built in the 40's, offers open rooms with big windows letting in lots of light in every room. We ensure our guests enjoy the same luxuries we do while staying at the Bungalow by providing high-end amenities such as Hotel brand sheets, Riedel wine glasses and decanter, Crate & Barrel tableware, even hybrid bicycles to take a scenic tour around the neighborhood and to nearby downtown Napa.
Great Mexican food 2 blocks away.
Enjoy fresh produce, fine foods, wines and cheese tasting, and local products.
Restaurants Celedon, Angele, Sweetie Pies, Napa Marketplace, Silos (live entertainment)
Take the hybrid bikes (available during your stay) to the hillside park down the road, or along the Silverado Trail/Hiway 121.
great park nestled in the wineries. Take the dogs off leash! Also, Dry Creek Road is a great bike ride, loop back on Mt Veeder and Redwood Road (hills!).

fun tapas place, lot of wines availabe to taste http://www.zuzunapa.com/about.htm
artistic, vegetarian restaurant and yoga studio http://www.ubuntunapa.com/html/index.html
A very popular hamburger place. Serves wine, or $5 corkage! (plenty of wines to choose from next door). Try the sweet potato fries and eat on the deck with your best friend (pup inluded).

Owner's Map of Napa
Hi, I'm Michelle and thanks for browsing our vacation rental. My business partner Penny and I purchased this property in Napa in 2007 as an investment, and to give each of us a place to get away from the city. The wine country, with its perfect climate and beautiful scenery season to season, is a great place to do just about anything you like, and this house is close to everything. The Devita Bungalow is a great place to enjoy Barbecues in the private backyard as well as dining at the many nearby world class restaurants, and, of course, visiting all the nearby wineries.

My wife and I come to California for our anniversary every year and usually go to the Monterey Jazz Festival and only spend a day or two in wine country. This year we decided to do something different and chose the Devita Cottage for our entire vacation. From the second we walked in the door, we fell in love with the place. Everything was exactly as described, and actually even better! During the day, it is brigh and sunny, and the back yard was perfect for relaxing in the evening. The location is great, minutes from the Silverdao Trail and Rt 29. We now face a very difficult decision about what to do in 2012!!!!

My husband and I stayed here for a week and we hated to leave! The property is exactly as described and pictured. Is in a quite neighborhood in an area that we felt safe in. Sidewalks so we could walk to downtown or use the house bikes. Easy access to Hwy 29. We loved sitting on the deck at the end of a day of wine tasting. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. We hope to return- will stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Devita Bungalow for my honeymoon. It was the perfect place. We were able to have a private space to hang out and chill after a day of wine tasting, sightseeing, or going to the city. It is well located in a nice neighborhood, and only minutes from downtown Napa. I definitely recommend this rental and will be staying here again on our next trip to Napa.

I've been fortunate enough to book at the Devita Bungalow a couple of times. This place is fantastic and shows in the pride the homeowners have taken to make this place ultra special. The owners have bought into the green thing, and you'll find filtered water (in the shower too), and evidently a lot of other stuff like that as there's no icky smell here like you find in other places. The embarrassing part is this place is better outfitted than my own home - the kitchen has everything! Anyway, being in the wine country we thought we'd better venture out (not that we couldn't have lounged here all day, wine and cheese in hand with the French doors swung wide open overlooking the zen backyard (and then there's that killer barbecue grill). So we grabbed a couple of the house bikes and rode the 10 minutes into the town of Napa, had breakfast, and plotted our wine tasting tour for the next couple of days. I feel lucky to have found the Devita Bungalow. And just like Schwarzenegger, I'll be back! Thanks!!!

This was the first trip to Napa for my wife and I and we were so pleased we found this place to stay. The cost was more reasonable than a basic hotel and so comfortable and well appointed. We loved coming home to a place that felt like home where we could relax and make ourselves comfortable. The bed was so comfortable we didn't want to leave. Having the computer there at our disposal so we didn't have to bring a laptop or worry about a internat connection was a real plus. We did nightly reasearch on the next days visits, made online reservations and looked up addresses. The fireplace was perfect for relaxing evenings with a bottle of wine and movie. The house is close to many restaurants and in the perfect locations for easy access to the Napa and Sonoma valleys. If we return to Napa we would definiely stay here again.

This place is wonderful and lovely, it is very spacious place to stay. I enjoyed being outside in the beautiful garden. I have stayed in other places in Napa and this bungalow is the best place to stay so far. When i come back to stay it will be here.

My husband and I stayed at the Devita Bungalow for our second anniversary. It was our second time to the area and our first time renting a house. From the moment we decided on the Devita Bungalow and contacted Michelle, we knew we made the right decision. Michelle was not only prompt in responding to my e-mails, but was a big help in providing information about nearby grocery stores and markets. Before we arrived, we felt confident and excited about our decision to rent a house instead of stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We arrived to find a house exactly like the pictures. It was spotless! The kitchen provided all the tools we needed to cook our meals during the week and the amenities made my husband and I immediately feel at home. We loved how close we were to downtown Napa, the Silverado Trail, and the St. Helena Highway. While we know we won't make it back to Napa for at least 2 years, we have already decided that we will again stay at the Devita Bungalow! We truly felt like we were locals and loved having a house to come home to at the end of the day instead of just a room. We have already recommended the Devita Bungalow to friends who plan to visit the area in the area and will continue to recommend it to anyone looking to visit Napa! It truly was the perfect vacation home!

We stayed at the Devita Bungalow for 3 nights during the fall - which we found a great time to visit Napa Valley. It was a wonderful location, easy driving distance to many wineries and walking distance (30min) to downtown Napa for many tasting rooms. The Bungalow itself was very clean, well-maintainted and loaded with amenities, including computer/printer, wireless internet, DVDs, Bose stereo system, 3 TVs, bikes, grill, fireplace and much more! We loved the fact that the owners were environmentally conscious, making it easy to recycle and feel good about staying there. The owners were also very friendly and quickly responsive to emails. We were traveling with an infant, so we were able to enjoy our evenings outside on the porch and at the table grilling our dinner and drinking our new found liquid jewels. The Bungalow was very comfortable and user friendly for 4 adults and 1 infant and we are already looking forward to another trip to Napa and to the Devita Bungalow. I would definitely recommend this house to friends - in fact, I already did!
