THE TIE HACK CABIN (1 br/1 bath – sleeps 4):
Cabin from Dubois' area tie hack history! This historic Tie Hack Cabin was moved from the mountains many years ago and preserved. The cabin has been recently decorated with a western theme and is ready to accommodate you! Upon entering the foyer/mudroom, one walks into a bedroom with a queen sized log bed and sitting area. A cozy den with a sleeper sofa & wing-back chair adjoins the bedroom. Both bedroom & den have t.v.'s with satellite service, telephone & wireless service for your personal computers. A small library is located in the cabin's sunroom with a nice collection of western books & board games for the visitors' enjoyment. In front of the cabin is an outdoor sitting area underneath century old cottonwood trees. Just down a stone path and only a hop, skip & a jump from the cabin is Horse Creek where guests can enjoy the large deck, rocking chairs, swing & firepit overlooking the creek.
THE TIN HOUSE (1 br/1 bath – sleeps 2):
The Tin House is a Teton Mobile Home decorated in western themes. The Tin House has a large living area & small dining table, full kitchen (toaster oven instead of stove/range), bath & bedroom with double bed. The living room has satellite t.v. No phone located in Tin House, but cell phones work great in this location. There is a large deck just out the back door of the Tin House which looks out over Horse Creek. Rocking chairs & a wrought iron table with four chairs are located on the deck. There is a swing & fire pit beside the creek.
The Tin House can only be rented as an extension rental from the Tie Hack Cabin during the high season, May-Sept. The Tie Hack Cabin & Tin House are located only 1 block from historic downtown Dubois and are within walking distance to adorable shops and delicious restaurants. Unfortunately we had a bad experience in that the main cabin was unusable due to plumbing problems and the Tin House did not have any dishes and the drawers and doors were falling apart. The deck was nice but looked across the creek at a large pile of trash and a rusted out vehicle on creek bank next door. The area is lovely however, and we certainly enjoyed the Cowboy Cafe.Owner response: Wyoming Mountain Properties (WMP) apologizes for the inconvenience at our beautiful little Tiehack cabin for these guests. It is a wonderful historic cabin that unexpectedly needed a new sewer line...WMP coordinated for these guests immediately additional accomodations. The new sewer line is in and all is A-OK. Since then we have had many wonderful and satisfied guests that all have enjoyed our little Tiehack cabin...Great spot to tour the area!! Thanks to all our wonderful guests..FG

Thank you so much for the wonderful stay here at this quaint little cabin off the beaten path. It was lovely to relax and so peaceful and quiet. We had a wonderful time here. It was wonderful to have a fully furnished kitchen and the decorations are so unique and makes it feel so cozy. We took the trip to see the sheep and it was beautiful. We also saw elk, deer and a moose. Thanks for the great hospitality. This place really fit our budget which we were so grateful for. Our 1 year anniversary was great thanks to this little place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Just wanted to thank you for the great visit. We had a great time. The cabin was beautiful and very cozy. We too the tours suggested in the folder and saw more wildlife than we could count. Including deer, elk, and bighorn sheep. We did not see any moose, bit I guess that is for the next trip. Thanks again for the great stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

What a great little place to stay! Dubois is such a treasure of history and character. An even greater discovery to learn of the Tie Hackers that once lived in this cabin. The Dubois Museum is a wonderful place to learn about the area. Having a tour guide show us the petrogliths, the tie hack ruins, and share a wealth of knowledge made this trip most memorable. Oh yes -- the Grand Tetons as well! Fred & Laurie - thank you for making this little cabin so comfortable. It has everything a person needs. Our family loved the time here and we'll surely return again! Our family had such a great time. Your suggestions for sight seeing were perfect! The museum is fabulous! We went on a helf day tour and I was amazed at all the history that this area holds. I am so glad to have shared this with my family and plan to come back again to see all we weren't able to this time. You'll definitely get my recommendation!Did you find this review helpful? The drive you suggested into Dubois was outstanding; a great introduction into this beautiful area. A very quiet, comfortable "get away". The visit to Horse Creek [Double Cabin] was worth the bumpy ride. The Tetons are a memory that will last forever! The drive into Thermopolis from Shoshoni; gorgeous! It has been a wonderful experience!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5
