There is something deeply relaxing about spending time immersed in nature. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Casa Verde at the Villas del Paradisio is the place for you. This little bit of paradise is a beautiful 30 – 40 minute boat ride from Bocas Town, in Bocas del Toro, Panama. On the way from Bocas, there are wonderful views of mangrove islands and quaint local homesteads.
Casa Verde is located on the southeastern end of Bastimentos Island. This spacious home is right on the beach and only the Avenue of Palms separates the house from the water. There are three bedrooms - all with queen size beds - two baths, a large living room, dinning area, and fully equipped kitchen. The house has large porches on both sides and the front one offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean waters and the Zapatia Islands.
The huge master bedroom and bath are located in the loft and there is a bridge that spans the living room to a private porch that looks over the beach. It is a great home for a family, couples, or a group.
As you walk, swim, kayak and explore the island, you will be rewarded with birdsong, abundant greenery, and an ever changing sea and sky. It is wonderful to slow down and experience the peaceful Panamanian lifestyle.

The best vacation!

We loved everything about the trip: The house, the island, the beach, the weather, the native community and specially Michael and Christine, who became our friends. We were in a group of 5 adults and our 7 year old daughter, who loved to play with the local kids. She wanted a fire and Michael made a huge one for her! The neighboors were nice and quiet. Michael took us on day trips and helped us arrange dive trips as well. Christine cooked amazing meals. We will absolutely go back and even consider buying a property there and having Michael and Christine manage it for us. Downside = sand flies =) Overall, it was a fantastic experience!!!!

I can not say enough about how wonderful our family vacation to Panama was!! Your home on the island is absolutely splendid! We are so appreciative of you letting our family stay in the house for the week. Christine and Michael were also the best, they were there when we needed them and left us to enjoy our time and family the rest of the time. They are wonderful folks. Thank you!!!

My husband, daughter (age 20) and I stayed at Casa Verde for 3 nights in March, 2011. The house is very nice and is as pictured. The beach is perfect. The water crystal clear It is a very relaxing place and, without distractions of TV, internet, etc, was wonderful for family time. We also enjoyed playing with the local kids and kayaking down to the point to get fresh fish. The owners were great to answer our questions prior to arriving and, when we were not able to arrive on the scheduled date, offered to extend our stay by an extra night so we would have the benefit of the 4 nights for which we had paid. We were surprised to find that the house is one of about 10 houses grouped together on the beach. The house next door is so close we could hear their conversations when we were all on our porches. They were very nice and were not a noisy group but it was not as private as I had imagined it would be. The real downside for us were the managers who live just a few houses down the beach. Given the reviews by other guests we were very surprised by our intereactions with them. Michael was so late picking us up in Bocas that we were calling his cell and discussing whether to find another boat to take us to Salt Creek. When he arrived, there was no introduction, greeting or apology. He remained surly throughout our stay. On our return trip, we questioned why we and our neighbors were both paying for the return trip to Bocas when we were going together, Michael told us we could get out of the boat if we didn't like it. Christine was alternatingly friendly and aggressive. Although the house is comfortable and the beach beautiful, we would not return.
Owner response:As shown in other reviews, our property managers have added much value to many guests' experience, but the issues raised have been addressed and resolved.

Went to this amazing spot with 4 girl friends for a week and we had the most spectacular time. It is gorgeous beyond words and the ideal vacation spot. The photos do not do it justice. The home is the perfect beach home and so relaxing and has everything you would ever want. We spent the days relaxing on the porch, snorkeling, kayaking and walking on the beach. Mike and Christine helped make our trip extra fantastic. They were so generous and would take us to gorgeous nearby island for snorkeling, sightseeing, and to get massages. They even arranged for a local chef to come to our house one night to cook us a fantastic meal and cooked for us themselves one night. We really could not have asked for a better trip. I highly recommend and can't wait to go back!

Casa Verde was a great place for our family Christmas vacation. We met our two daughters and their husbands in Bocas and spent Christmas week on the island. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures show, and the location is absolutely amazing. Michael and Christine were wonderful hosts and always very helpful. We felt like old friends by the time we left, and we would love to return someday.

August 2009 - Casa Verde was the perfect grand finale to our 3 week trip to Panama! This home is beautiful and perfect for families with children. Christine and Michael seemed like old friends by the time we left. They are a wonderful and generous couple. There is so much to do on this island, that 6 nights is not long enough. We hope to someday return and find the place still a paradise.
