We stayed at Luz Y Aire spanning the 3 weeks From March 30 through to April 21.Our choice of this particular apt was based largely on the reviews we had read and the fact that the owners were so proactive in dealing with their tenants.Although we don't expect hand-holding when we travel,it seemed a major bonus considering this particular destination. Therefore we were somewhat surprised and disappointed after corresponding with Linda over the months and finalizing a rental agreement to arrive and learn she was no longer the owner of the unit. We felt we should have been informed. This proved to be a of no concern however as we were put into the very capable hands of the managers of the bldg.... 'Poetry'.This accomodating, friendly staff soon put our doubts to rest. They helped us with most of our bookings and answered our countless questions. We were very impressed. The apt was clean and towel changes and weekly cleanings were seen to at the our convenience. The deck/pool area on the roof was a great spot for warm afternoons and evenings. As for the actual apt #264929...no surprises.. it is as it is shown. It is a very nice space. The little patio area is a lovely bonus that extends an already spacious unit and we made good use of it...eating breakfast there every morning and enjoying a glass of Malbec when we returned 'home' after a day of City sights. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen well-equipped (needs a microwave) We both feel however that this particular unit could use a renovation or at least a freshening up... particularly in the main bathroom which could benefit from a retiling. As for the location of the building... it is splendid! If returning to BsAs or coming for a first time trip, I would strongly advise a rental in this bldg. (As an aside...I don't believe 'Merle from Ottawa' stayed in this particular unit)

My husband and I have been spending winters away from Canada for 10 years. Our 2 month stay in Buenos Aires,at the Poetry building was one of our best experiences. The web site descriptions and photos were true to life--our appartment was charming, well appointed, beautifully decorated, and was our perfect "home away from home". Brent and his staff provided us with the kind of support and assistance one finds in top notch hotels. The neighborhood was reminiscent of our stays in Paris, with all important cultural venues just a short walk away. Because our stay was longer than most other guests, it was important to have the facilities to dine at home periodically, and the kitchen was very well equipped for this. When dining out, excellent restaurants were a short cab ride away. We made several shot excursions out of BA, and each time , we were happy to return to our home at the Poetry building. The deck and pool area became a wonderful meeting area, as guests were able to exchange tips, and experiences. We are toying with returning next year, and should we do so, the Poetry building will be our choice of residence. We congratulate Brent for having developed this wonderful property, for having designed the new in with the old, and for having furnished the appartments with such good taste! What a pleasure it was to stay here!! Many thanks to all.

Our 8 days in Linda & Kurt's apartment was Part I of a surprise birthday trip for my husband who knew nothing about where we were going until we got there. When we walked into Luz y Aire his eyes lit up. I can only say that it was the perfect place to begin our exploration of Buenos Aires. We did not consume one cup of coffee or one glass of wine indoors; the private garden patio was fantastic. Would we come back? Absolutely!

Linda thought of everything and there is nothing we would change. The apartment was quite comfortable for two and in a great location. It is well maintained and quiet. We very much enjoyed the neighborhood, the coffee shops, the restaurants, and the local wine shop. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I had a marvelous 5 week stay in Luz y Aire. The accommodations were new and modern and perfect for our needs. Our little Cairn Terrier Molly had a great place to play in the private rear courtyard, and the front of the apartment opened to a beautiful atrium with water sculptures and surrounded by glass, adding to the wonderful ambiance. Most important in the city environment is the fact that the apartment is situated in the rear of the building, away from the street noise, and very peaceful indeed: no problems sleeping in a bit after a late dinner in BA! Linda was an attentive hostess, giving great assistance with the language, theater tix, etc...and for a fee, even kept Molly while we spent 5 days in Mendoza. We rate this listing among the very highest in VRBO for quality, location and amenities!

I booked this apartment for my first few days in Buenos Aires and the experience was perfect in every possible way. This apartment is perfect and I would not change one single thing. Being my first apartment rental in Buenos Aires I was totally amazed at how nice this apartment was for the price. Linda has thought of everything for people coming into the apartment, from a nice bottle of wine and fresh milk on arrival to plenty of maps and info on the area. Linda has a very good transportation service and arranged for a van to pick up our small video production crew at the airport and this was a blessing and totally stress free. The driver Hector gave us plenty of great info on arrival to the new city. I will be booking this apartment for my next stay but will do it ahead of time so I can have it for more days. When it was time to leave Linda even helped us with transportation to our next hotel. Thank you so much Linda for making our stay perfect!!

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay while in Buenos Aires. We definitely made the right decision staying in this apartment rather than staying in a hotel in a touristy part of town. This apartment is located right in the middle of Barrio Norte and Recoletta and is a perfect slice of Porteno life! Quaint shops in a quiet yet active locals-only neighborhood. We don't look Argentine or speak Spanish, but we felt like we were at home. We would definitely stay here again when we come back!

I was privilaged to be able to stay at Luz y Aire during April 2010. From the get-go Linda was there to help me with all my needs. The apt is everything you can need and more. Linda had supplied the apt with coffee, orange juice, pastries, and anything else I might need if I chose to cook during my stay. Everything is within walking distance and she is more then happy to assist you with information, she has tons of reference books that you can use. Flat screen television, Bose sound system, internet service, and a phone are at your disposal. The patio is a great place to have your morning coffee or that last glass of wine before retireing. She recommended a french bistro across the street, Granda, that is incredible. I had dinner there 3 times during my stay and is very reasonable. Linda knows the most fabulous place on Berutti street that has the best chocolate I have ever had. I did have the most memorable time in BA thanks to Linda. She was gracious enough to accept my invitation to dinner and we had a blast. Thru her I was able to meet her husband Kurt, Eduardo, and Stella. We all dined together into the wee hours of the morning as it should be when you are graced with the company fo such wonderful people. If you should happen to be a "wine afficionado" her friend Eduardo has this great little wine boutique shop with a fabulous collection of wines from small wine producers. The apt is truly a gem and I have all intentions of being there again. Linda, mil gracias por todo, con mucho carino. Flaco

That this apartment is well-located in an attractive building, clean, reasonably-priced, tastefully decorated in understated elegance, and larger than expected for a studio is only half of what makes it a perfect location for maximum enjoyment of Buenos Aires. In addition, its owners have thought of everything to assist the traveler in hitting the ground running upon arrival: all sorts of area information tips, a fully stocked kitchen, a loaded cell phone, and a computer with wireless access, to name a few. They are thoughtful, detail-oriented and attentive to inquiries, but never imposing. We enjoyed participating in some neighborhood events the owners told us about. And they went well beyond the call of duty by, among other things, transporting and keeping our luggage, arranging transportation, sending photos, even repacking our wine purchases against breakage for the trip home! We are picky travelers who can think of no complaint or even an area Luz y Aire might improve upon.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Buenos Aires and found Linda's apartment on VRBO. From the get-go Linda was a dream come true--she worked with us to finalize the dates, answered questions on where to go, what to do, the weather, the food, and got back to us quickly each time. The apartment is perfect--everything you need she has thought of, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need to make a gourmet meal and it was a treat being able to shop at the market and cook at home on some nights. It is comfortable and cozy and you definitely feel at home while you are staying there. Linda has a laptop and cell phone for you to use during your stay which came in handy for looking up excursions, restaurants and directions. The apartment is in the perfect location--a few blocks from the subway, surrounded by great restaurants and shopping, and close to the Recoleta Cemetery. The grocery store is right around the corner as well as the tastiest little bakery! I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to B.A. We are already spreading the word on Linda's apartment with our family and friends. Thanks Linda!
