We had a great time! The house is beautiful and luxurious. All management and security are friendly and I felt safe there. I wish we could have stayed longer but I must say that I was very impressed with this place. The beaches are close by and beautiful. Thank you!

Wonderful casita in a beautiful development
Wonderful casita in a beautiful development
Our week in this home was very, very nice and we would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Loreto. The house is beautifully built and very nicely appointed and furnished. It is an extremely comfortable place to stay. The property is well mangaged by the on-site managment company. The photographs are accurate but don't do the place justice. It is nicer than the photos suggest! This is a perfect home for couples, people with older kids who can stay in their own room, double couples (because the two bedrooms are on different floors with their own baths). In our opinion it is not really suitable for more than 4 people because there are just 2 bedrooms with king and queen size beds respectively, unless your kids can sleep more than 2 to a bed. The L-shaped sofa in the living room is very comfortable and could accomodate a child or two if need be. You would have to bring your own bedding or sleeping bags. The entire development of Loreto Bay is extremely well managed. We were there during Hurricane Paul and while that might cause some pretty serious issues, given that it was a hurricane with 60-70 mph winds and about 4 inches of rain in a 36 hr period, the house and the neighborhood held up very, very well. The response by the Loreto Bay Homeowners Association to keep things moving as best they could with standing water in nearly every corner of the neighborhood was remarkable. Big kudos to that whole group. Being in Loreto Bay, near the hotel, was a huge bonus. You get to live in modern structure in a wonderful example of traditional Mexican residential neighborhood architecture but with all the amenities of a resort hotel. We spent a lot of time down on the beach in front of the hotel and at the hotel pool. We used the kayaks and snorkling equipment from the hotel. They were very accomodating to us. The breeze off the ocean and the drink and restaurant service there make it a great choice for lounging. There is also a community pool located back from the ocean where you will meet many residents of the neighborhood and make many instant friends. We strongly recommend this property to anyone wishing to enjoy a Mexican holiday with style, comfort and lots of opportunities to relax between (self inflicted) bouts of recreational fun! Outstanding property, great value.

The home is absolutely beautiful, we (my family) had a great time. There is so many activities, we stayed for 7 days and were busy every day with a new activity....it's definitely a jewel yet to be discovered....The pictures shown here don't do this home justice, once you stay, I assure you will not want to leave.

The accomodations were as advertised. Quality furnishings and upscale appliances. Very comfortable, I would recommend this property to somone looking for a relaxing vacation. Bedrooms are upstairs and down, so that privacy is available, excellent for two couples. The local pool was convenient and never crowded during our stay. I would recommend renting a car, in order to go to downtown Loreto for major grocery and gift shopping. Otherwise, there are small local markets for sundries. Overall, we had a great time.

Great Place to Stay
Great Place to Stay
We have just returned from staying a month in this lovely casa. The casa suited us to a tee overlooking the golf course and Sierra La Giganta Mountains. It is situated very conveniently in the neighborhood only a few minutes to the community pool, golf course or shops. Comfortable king size beds with down duvets make it feel like you are staying in an upscale hotel. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the mountains from our second floor deck...and the star gazing was amazing. Any concerns where taken care of by on site management . This is our second year coming to Loreto Bay and it keeps getting better. We look forward to returning next year.

Wonderful Experience in a Fabulous Place
Wonderful Experience in a Fabulous Place
Our stay was more wonderful than we expected. The owner is easy to work with and very responsive to any questions or needs we might have had. The photos showcase the property and the community. The accommodations and living space (indoors and outdoors...including the lounge chairs) were superb. The home is conveniently located and very comfortable. The cotton linens (i.e., towels robes, bedding, and pillows) are absolutely fabulous. We believe staying at this location, the amenities afforded in the Founders Village (i.e., community center, golf, pool, Sea of Cortez, shops, security, etc.), and it's proximity to the town of Loreto only enhanced our experience and afforded us opportunities to meet other travelers and make new friends. The title of this listing "Where Even the Sun is Not in a Hurry"...sums it up. We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay and are looking forward to extending our stay next year.

Owner response: Farlie and Pat, we are so glad you enjoyed our home and the wonderful community of Loreto. We are lucky to be in such a great location within Loreto Bay and have such fantastic neighbours too. You were a pleasure to deal with, and we look forward to having you back with us next year!
Fantastic Place/Great Location
Fantastic Place/Great Location
This place was a perfect place for my wife & myself to stay over the holidays. We both had a great time & it was very easy to work with the owner. We have stayed at different places over the years & they promise you so much & when you get there it's different, That was not the case here, it was everything we expected. The only thing that I can see that place could use would be some chaise lounges for the deck, but otherwise everything was there for you. As the whole community continues to grow & the airlines increase the flights into the area, this will be the go to place along the Baja. Thanks again Christine for all your help!

Owner response: Unfortunately, the previous two chaise lounges were damaged and we have now removed them (in December, 2011). We are now in the process of replacing them with 2 new chaise lounges. With the time of year, there are limited options locally for the furniture we want, so we need to order them in, which is why there has been a delay organizing this replacement furniture. We appreciate your input...thank you! The chaise lounges have now been replaced!
Was a lovely place to stay for the week. Comfortable, clean - nicely equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and bathrooms. Good location - lots of nice amenities such as housecoats and thick towels. Took a while for hot water to kick in and never really did so at kitchen sink. Also would have liked a couple of lounge chairs on the roof top patio area for relaxing and reading. But all in all was a lovely place and I would stay here again.

Owner response: We have always had 2 lounge chairs on the deck. Unfortunately, they got damaged by weather and guests. They have been removed and we are in the process of replacing them. The hot water is a function of distance. The brother who arranged this rental also stayed in another casa and had the same issue. He just turned on the water with more force and it got hot faster.
Everything was just as promised. Lovely home w/ a view of the mountains - we enjoyed it very much.

Home Away From Home
Home Away From Home
I stayed at the property in August (the low season). It was hot but not as humid as I was expecting. The mornings and evenings were warm but cool from the ocean breeze. The afternoons were hot but we spent most of that time at either the hotel pool, the community pool or in the ocean. The property was what I was better than what I was expecting in terms of amenities and appearance. It was immaculate inside and out and I didn't find even a candy wrapper or cigarette butt on the ground the entire time I was there. There was everything there that I would have needed if I was at home. This included preparing meals at home, doing laundry, going grocery shopping and enjoying an evening at home. There is a general store on the property owned and managed by Evan. He is a really friendly character that can get you anything that you are looking for that you can't find in the store, give you tips on what to do and see and his stories make you smile. The staff were very friendly at the hotel. What I really enjoyed besides the property were the people. Everyone was really friendly and made you feel welcomed. I would go back just to thank everyone for making my experience so memorable. We stayed for 12 days and spent most of it in the resort. We made two trips into town by taxi. The town was nice. I would recommend hitting up the ice cream store as they had some interesting flavours including cucumber chili. Yum! We took advantage of sea kyaking. The waves are not too large and would be easy to navage even for a novice. You can see many kinds of fish and I loved watching the pelicans dive into the surf for fish. We took romantic strolls along the beach at sunset which is also something I would recommend. If you get tired of cooking or don't want to make anything while you are there you can always take advantage of the hotel restaurant, the poolside restaurant or the italian restaurant on the beach. The food at all three were good. I loved eathing authentic mexican fare. So if you are looking for a romantic getaway or just a rest from reality then I would highly recommend staying here. Christine is awesome and I can't put into words my gratitude for arranging everything for us.

Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: I have always loved Mexico, being partly Spanish myself, and a long time ago, went there many times with my girlfriend because I loved the geography, the culture, the people and the food. I also wanted to work with helping the children there and their families, and still hope to be able to have a foundation to be able to do that one day. I was introduced to Loreto by an individual who used to live in Mexico and loved what Loreto Bay was doing with their environmentally friendly project, and I knew it was the place for me just by looking at their introduction DVD. When my husband and I both went down there in 2004, we both fell in love with the place, because of its scenic beauty and the quiet peacefulness of the location and all of the activities available for us to enjoy in the natural habitat that was not spoiled by excessive development. After much deliberation, we found the perfect lot for our villa by the golf course, and set off on the journey of helping the finalization of the construction and furnishing of our new home away from home. We loved Loreto Bay and the fishing town of Loreto, and set out to explore the area by the Sea of Cortez and get to know our neighbours who also bought in the development. We went out on boat tours, drove on expeditions to other towns nearby, took boat rides to enjoy beaches on other islands, spent time kayaking, biking, horseback riding up in the mountains, golfing, and thoroughly loved our experiences there. In order to properly furnish our new home, we went to Guadalajara and bought Mexican custom made furniture. We met a local Mexican artist and arranged for him to produce and frame all the paintings in our home. We went to a factory and chose the vases we liked and the colors we wanted them in. Along with that, we ordered some local Mexican furniture and the electronics, housewares and linens required to make this a warm home with the amenities and the comforts of any home you might want to live in.
Why the Owner Chose Loreto:
We loved the location of Loreto Bay where the area is very pristine, the water is blue, the resort is at the base of the Sierra de la Giganta Mountain range and yet right on the Sea of Cortez. The long beach has soft white sand without rocks and is just off the Inn’s bar and pool. We can go kayaking right from the beach and explore the little estuary in the area or walk 5 minutes from our house to the clubhouse for golf. We can rent a car from the hotel or at the airport and explore the coast, or rent a boat and go fishing or sightseeing the various islands in the area. We can go swimming or snorkelling at the hotel beach which is in a very protected area or explore the other islands for swimming at other beautiful beaches. We can go hiking within walking distance. We love the design of the village of Loreto Bay, with the bright colors and designs of the various casas or custom homes and, of course, the community of people who live there part time or full time, who are so helpful and friendly. Except for the Paseo (main street), all of the landscaped streets between the various homes are not designed for cars, so it is a great community for walking locally. It is a beautiful, natural resort where you can relax, cook up a great meal, or go to a fine or casual restaurant nearby in Loreto, or enjoy the many sports available in the area. The airport and the town are both within 10 minutes by car, so it is an easy distance when coming or going to the resort, or if you are going into town for shopping, exploring, dining out, going to bars, walking along the seawall or renting a fishing boat there. There is a market every weekend where you can get fresh seafood, meat or produce, and other local products.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our casa is in the resort of Loreto Bay, in a beautiful quiet area across from an 18 hole golf course looking straight at the Sierra de la Giganta mountains but within minutes of the community pool in close proximity to all amenities. We are a few steps from the Paseo, which is the main street with any of the services you may need and across from the Paseo is the Inn ( 5 minutes from our house) where there is a pool, a bar side restaurant and a dining restaurant, the beach and the kayaks. We have a full time property manager whose office is on the Paseo, so you can get your keys from them and they are there to be of assistance if needed. We have 24 hour security. Our electronics is provided by Road9, and their offices are also on the Paseo, again if you need anything. We have wireless internet and there is internet at the hotel. We are within 10 minutes of the airport and of the quaint town of Loreto with its numerous great restaurants. We are from Canada and there are Canadians, Americans, Mexicans, and many others who all own in this resort which was built to be like a home away from home. I love the luxury and privacy and high quality of living in our Casa and yet be minutes away from the beautiful scenery, culture and uniqueness of the local area.
