My wife, college-age daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed both this property and the owners. Crater Lake's southern entrance is nearby, with lots of site-seeing and hiking opportunities, and it was nice to retire to the cabin afterward. It felt like coming to a temporary home. The hosts could not have been kinder. They gave us plenty of space, yet seemed to be available whenever a question or need arose. I told my wife that if we lived here, we'd surely become friends. If you enjoy nature, this spot is for you. Well-stocked home with plenty of cooking utensils, spices and so on. Easy to relax here. Comfortable beds. We arrived in early Sept; mosquitoes were there too but not a problem -- a bit of spray and they left us alone; would not see need to mention if not for other reviews. Enjoyed paddling Crooked Creek twice -- once in each direction, and Alyssa (our daughter) particularly enjoyed the horses up the creek to the north. Wish we had another day to chill. Heartiest recommendation.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We decided to stay two nights at this place for our crater lake visit. The place is just 30 odd miles from south entrance of the lake which is good. The property is every bit as advertised. Nolan is great young gentleman and took care of our questions and clarifications. We arrived late and he promptly received us. The property is wel maintained, Rooms were neat and clean. Kitchen as full fledged. Since we were group of 4 and never like eating outside, we were pleased to find a house like this. The property is surrounded by green farms, mountains and water stream. On a sunny day it is a pleasant to be sitting outside and sipping a hot coffee or a tea. Nolan's parents were great as well. They have a collection of kayaks, pedalling boats and canoes and we had a good time wading the stream . you can kayak/canoe for long distance. They even gave us life jackets and quick training on how to kaya/canoe. It is nice to be in a place where you have option to do these activities for how much ever you want. The stream it self is not very deep and is safe. We never had troubles with mosquitoes as complained by other reviewers. We had a good experience and would recommend this to others /will come back again. If I had to pick on something that would be lack of internet . But then we were vacationing not working. It was nice to be in a place where there were no elements to force us to work.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I have to agree with Rich...We were only able to stay 2 days, but the mosquitos were ridiculous. My kids and husband braved the outdoors to use the canoe and peddle boat(with bug spray). But I must say that we also encountered mosquitos up at Crater Lake near the lodge. The ranger said they weren't even so bad because of the late winter....The cabin itself was comfortable although the shower stall is cramped--but it appeared spotless so I was ok with that. One suggestion: A better lamp is needed in the livingroom--it was impossible to read there after dark. The view towards the creek was awesome after dusk--silhouettes were great--and bats cruisin' by the window were amazing....(maybe not so much if you were outside) I would stay again, but maybe outside mosquito season. Good value for the money.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Let me first say that everything in the owners description about this area and cabin are true. The cabin itself is great! Everything that you need is already included at the cabin. Fully stocked kitchen, good beds, towels, great view and very nice owners. Kayaks and a paddle boat were also provided to ride in the stream that runs through the property. We were also able to watch a Bald Eagle as it was perched in a tree across the road. It was really a great setting........except for one thing.....MOSQUITOS! The Mosquitos were out in full force from sun up to sun down. So much that you could not go outside any more than a few minutes before we were eaten alive. It's unfortunate because the place is great but we really couldn't take advantage of everything there was to offer. In fact, we had to cut our stay short. Without this little problem I would have rated this as good. So, long story long, great place, but make sure that you go at a time when the mosquito air force is grounded.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1993
About the owner: Our names are Stephen and MaryAnna Napier and we are from Los Angeles California. I love to read books, cook, and am a very passionate cat lover. My husband likes cats as well, although not as much as I do, but he loves to fish, canoe and of course, golf! We also have a wonderful 19-year-old son who is going to be a sophomore in College and we both love him very much.
Why the Owner Chose Crater Lake:
When we originially purchased this property the hustle and bustle of city life was getting too us. It is so strenuous and stressful and once we started coming up to Oregon and enjoying total relaxation, we never felt better. Over time we frequently came up to this house and one day we thought, 'why should we be the only ones to enjoy this?' and so we have made it available for people like you! So come on! Relax and enjoy!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The serene environment of the cabin and the breathtaking view of the Cascade Mountain Range is unparalleled anywhere else. The only thing left to complete this amazing location is Crooked Creek which actually runs directly through the property! You might never even want to leave the cabin but if you do there is so much to do that is all within the area! There are many parks, rivers, and lakes all located within 10 minutes to under an hours drive that will give you the experience of a lifetime. Once you go to Kimbal Park or Agency Lake and most likely have the WHOLE THING TO YOURSELF you will understand what we are talking about. On busy days you might have to share the lakes with one, maybe two boats in the distance. In addition to that there is also a fish hatchery located just down the road from the cabin and that is always a neat little place to visit. The two small towns of Chiloquin and Fort Klamath are both about 10 minutes away from the house. If you need to go to a bigger town Klamath Falls is only about a half an hour away and that has everything you could possibly need from gyms to golf courses to movies.
