We would love to welcome you to our condo. It is located in the very heart of Vaison-la-Romaine, only a few moments away from shops, boulangeries, cafes and restaurants; the famous Tuesday market is literally right out the door.
The condo, which we entirely renovated in 2010, is located on the third floor of our building—providing extensive, eye-popping views of the ancient Roman Ruins. (There is a lift, if you prefer not to walk up.) Our own apartment is located just below you on the second floor, so we are nearby if you have questions or need help. We are a French couple, and we love receiving renters from other countries and greatly enjoy having them in Vaison.
Open the double doors in the living room, pull up a chair, and gaze at the ruins while you have your apèro. Or if you prefer, there is a very large, comfortable shaded terrace with seating area and coffee table, plus a large table and chairs for meals. The condo is spacious—1,100 sq ft. The living and dining areas are very large and are furnished with authentic, Provencal walnut antiques. The television (with English language channels) is in the living room. The dining table seats 6-8 comfortably.
We have a fireplace in the living room; on cool evenings we would be happy to have a fire burning for you when you return from the day’s activities, if you would like.
In warm weather, “volets” (shutters) are used in Provence on the doors and windows help keep rooms cool; we also have air conditioning in the living and dining areas, plus in the bedrooms. The terrace has a large shade so it is a great place to relax. In Provence it is also unusual to have a large terrace in the center of town.
We have two large air conditioned bedrooms, each equipped with its own very classy and modern Italian tiled bathroom. Each bathroom has a large, comfortable shower (no tiny French shower enclosures here) and a hair dryer is supplied. Beds are 140 cm ( 56“.) An additional powder room is next to the kitchen.
A laundry room has a clothes washer. The well-equipped kitchen is close to the terrace, providing easy access for outdoor meals. We restored the condo with the highest quality, and are proud to offer it to you. When you reserve our condo, we will send you a list of shops in the area, and a list of the best restaurants, prepared by our friend, food critic and teacher (and part-time local resident,) Patricia Wells.
Our rental fees vary by season, and are all inclusive, unlike most other French rentals. We do not charge any additional fees for bed or bath linens, for wifi, or housekeeping.
The condo is entirely non-smoking, and it is not appropriate for children.
