  I was looking for a quiet place where I could write, where I would not be disturbed by neighbors yelling or partying. I could not have found a better place. It was beautiful, surrounded by lush gardens, the cottage itself was very comfortable, well appointed, with everything you could want provided, even a washing machine. It rained a lot the week that I was on Kauai, but when the sun came out the lanai was gorgeous. This is a perfect place for a retreat. If you are looking for a place close to the beach, you will be disappointed, but it is a short drive to a nice beach. On hot days, you will get cool trade winds through the house. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet place to relax, enjoy Hawaii, and have a base for hiking, sightseeing, and exploring.

  We had the most amazing and relaxing vacation on Kauai. Jai's cottage was perfect for us. It was quiet and secluded and perfectly located for enjoying all of the island's treasures. Everything was clean and comfortable. The beautiful garden and fresh greens and fruit were just some of the very special touches that we enjoyed. Thank you, Jai, for sharing your slice of paradise with us.

  My good friend and I stayed at the Cottage for a couple of overnights in March. We were seeking a base from which to do lots of outdoor activities - hiking, kayaking, exploring the Island of Kauai. Jai was a wonderful host, we felt like we were at home from well before our arrival. For those looking for a more rustic, nature-drenched, non-resort experience the cottage is wonderful. Very centrally located on the Island, and just away from the main-street bustle of Kapa'a. We tried to eat totally local Kauai, fresh eggs, greens, fruits and veggies from the garden below surely helped in this effort! A quick trip to the local grocer on the way completed that for wonderfully delicious home-made meals and to-go lunches. We loved our stay, our only disappointment was having to leave. Mahalo - we fell in love with Kauai and very much looking forward to visiting again.

  My partner and our 4 month old spent a week in this beautiful space. It's much more lovely than the pictures convey - the location is a ways out of the town of Kapaa, past the residential area and into farmland, and on the way to great hiking inland, or up to the north beaches. The property itself is situated on a lush ravine that has been lovingly sculpted into a blend of wonderfully heady jungle, organic gardens, hidden paths and ponds full of life. Jai is a perfect host - she was so welcoming and informative, available to answer questions and chat about Island life, and gave us lots of space to feel we were the only ones there. She responded quickly about an issue with the washing machine and was so very thoughtful to provide little touches that made travelling with our babe very easy. The cottage is stocked full of items I might have forgotten, and there are abundant linens, soaps and condiments. Everything was clean and the king bed was super comfortable (we didn't use the loft, though it would have been fun if we were travelling with close friends or family - the bedrooms are open to each other at the ceiling). We would very highly recommend this to couples or families.

  If it is seclusion & peace you are looking for - you have found it. We were looking for just that. This was our second trip to Kauai and we were so pleased with our choice in properties. We like being away from the crowed resorts and this place delivers in a big way. The home itself has just about everything you could ask for and is the perfect spot to use as a "jump off point" for all of Kauai's wonderful activities - From, the North shore with beautiful Kee Beach to Hanalei to Kilauea Lighthouse to the amazing Coconut Coast with Lygate Beach, Smith Tropical Luau and river tour, to all the waterfalls to tubing down the rapids at an old sugar plantation to the beautiful South Shore with Poipu Beach, spouting horn, gardens and the stunning Napali coast - Oh do not forget to go to Barking sands beach! We love Kauai and we loved staying here, The gardens at the property are stunning - I kept saying to my husband that I feel like we were in a "LOST " episode because it was so secluded and lush. The property was clean, well maintained, wonderful guest book with suggestions, fully equipped and wonderful views. When we come back to Kauai, this will be our #1 choice.   We stayed in this house during our honeymoon trip and had a really great time here. The house offers everything you might need and is located very private in Jai's wonderful gardens. The location is also perfect for trip to the north and the south of the island, so if you are an explorer, this is perfect for you. Thank you Jai for the warm welcome and the fresh fruit from your gardens! The property is really nice and the house itself was very clean and in a good shape. Would definitely recommend this one!

  My wife, two daughters ages 1 and 5 and I spent a week at this property and enjoyed it very much. Jai is a lovely host, very helpful, gives a wonderful massage, and brought by beach toys, children books and playpen for the children. Our girls were right at home and very comfortable in the cottage. Our 5 year old loved the loft bedroom. We hosted a BBQ for my brother and his wife on the balcony. There is a very nice trail down to the gardens from the cottage. The cottage is set in the trees and very private. It was perfect, just what we were looking for.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

  My boyfriend and I ( who became my fiance on this trip) stayed here in June 2011. Great location, very private and secluded. We enjoyed picking fruit in the botanical gardens and indulged in a wonderful couples massage by Jai and her associate. Jai was very accommodating - I requested candles, flowers and champagne on our arrival, and we walked into a vacation oasis. I even left a pearl necklace behind and she was kind enough to send it back to South Carolina for us. The foliage around the cabin was beautiful, the king bed was comfortable and the option to have a full kitchen was great, as we where able to bring back leftovers, cook our own breakfast and pack lunches for a day at the beach. The snorkel and beach gear where in great condition and very useful. We are more outdoor types, so the expense and hype of a resort didn't appeal to us. I would most definatly come back here again- wish we where there now! Niki and Jon

  My husband and I and our two adult daughters stayed in the cottage for a week. It is a bit small for 4 people (mainly lacking space to keep suitcases, etc.) It does have all the amenities and we enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of the beach areas of Kauai. Jai, the owner, is very helpful and attentive.

  My husband and I felt totally relaxed in this beautiful setting. Everything one needed was provided for in the cottage. We soon learnt our way around the roads leading into the town of Kaapa where the ocean, the restaurants, grocery stores and shops were, but the joy of being away from the business of this was what we most enjoyed. We would highly reccommend this delightful escape to all of those who love the beauty of nature and the privacy it offers.
