Our stay at Casa Paloma was great. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. We really loved the pool in the center of the house. The housekeeper did a wonderful job of keeping the house clean and the property manager was great as well. He was a great help to us. Between the owner and the property manager all of our questions were taken care of. I would definitely recommend this house to anybody that would want to stay in Granada. There was plenty to do within walking distance and we also enjoyed a guided boat ride on the lake, a guided tour of the volcano Masaya and a family making ceramics, and a couple of carriage rides. All in all our trip to Granada was awesome!

I recently returned from a week's stay at Casa Paloma. The house is spacious and comfortable; Old World style with modern amenities. The neighborhood is safe and is filled with incredibly nice people (sit on the front stoop and within a minute you'll be chatting with a neighbor). Markets, stores, shops, and banks are within easy walking distance - as is the town square with all of its entertainment options. Julio (property manager) is fantastic - he can arrange tours, transport, etc... and is always available to help. Paloma is about a 10 minute ride from Lake Nicaragua and I would strongly recommend a boat tour of Isletas on the Lake (especially the Isle of Monkeys!). Granada is also chock-full of historical buildings (some of the churches are unbelievable). Less than half an hour away is the active volcano at Masaya - you can drive right up to the crater. What else? There are always taxis - both motorized and horse driven - around if you want to just hop in and go somewhere. In closing, I had an amazing time and I'd recommend this property to anyone looking to visit this lovely city.

This is really a great home!! Traditional yet luxurious, spacious rooms, all the amenities you could ever need! The owner and property manager are friendly and quick to respond to any request. One of many positives of this home is the neighborhood. Just a short walk to the central park and many great places to eat/drink, it's quiet and the neighbors are so friendly. I HIGHLY recommend Casa Paloma to anyone travelling to Granada for any length of time!!

Excellent Choice, Great Location!
Excellent Choice, Great Location!
We have stayed in Granada many times on our way down to our second home in Playa Coco. This has been our favorite place so far. We have a 2 year old so we always want to be somewhat close to town. He could walk with us the 3 short blocks into town. The pool and open area inside the house were perfect - we opened all the windows to let the breeze flow through the house - and we could hear the voices of children at school next door. The Property Manager did a good job, was waiting for us when we arrived and answered his phone any time we needed anything. If you are staying in Granada, we could recommend this place. It's much better than staying in any hotel and very reasonably priced.

We stayed in Casa Paloma during the entire month of October 2012. The house is a definite 5 star. All modern conveniences flat screen, wifi, blu-ray, cable, even a local cell phone was available for our use! The open floor plan is awesome, the pool is right there calling you to jump in for a cooling plunge! Believe me, we plunged quite a bit...nice to be able to do a few laps in the comfort of your living room. The house is within walking distance to everything...central park, the bank, restaurants, the super market...everything AND it's located in one of the best and safest neighborhoods in Granada! The neighbors are friendly and willing to help if you need directions or recommendations within the city. If walking isn't your thing...no worries....stand right aside your door and within moments a taxi will roll by and be more than happy to take you to your destination! NO car needed. Speaking of friendly and willing to help, the staff Carmen, Pancho and Julio go above and beyond to make sure your stay is five star. Julio manages the home and is ALWAYS, ALWAYS available for ANYTHING! Just call and he's there...his number is already saved in the cell phone. Just push a button and he's there. A fantastic source of information! Ok, back to the house....like I said, absolutely awesome, 5 star all the way...great location, great service, great neighborhood, great view! You can't go wrong with Casa Paloma....Highly recommend!!

Year Purchased: 2012
About: We're married Chicagoans who got too eager for very early retirement and bought a house in Nicaragua--and then, crazily, a second house--before we could use it full time! In the meantime, we take care of our dog and cats and assure them how much they'll love Nicaragua when we all get there. 'He' is a professional chef who wants to open a restaurant when we finally make our way there. 'She' is a lawyer who has worked too many long hours for too many years and loves the idea of switching careers entirely and also offering good jobs to Nicaraguans through the restaurant. It's a little hard to do these write-ups as it's not our nature to want to talk about ourselves, but we're happy to answer any questions you might have. And yes, people think we're crazy for planning to move to Nicaragua.
Luxury. Space. Light. Comfort and a sense of space.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This is known as the best neighborhood in Granada, for good reason. Quiet and family-oriented, and easy distance to everything you need or want to see. The house is so spacious and light that it feels luxurious, and we added art and high-end furniture to make it feel even more so. The views from the upper-floor bedroom are astonishing.
