This squeaky clean apartment is legally registered with local authorities under registration #25-II/18/2005 and received the "apartmant de luxe" status by exceeding the requirements for such rating. For your own protection, always make sure that the apartment you rent for your vacation is legally registered for such purpose!
The completely renovated (rebuilt), Western standard apartment is situated in the downtown "Palota Negyed" or Palace Quarter in the "heart of Budapest" as the Budapest Sun calls the part of this lovely district.
(Muzeum korut's East side, "Rakoczi ut' South side, Jozsef korut's West side, Ulloi ut's North side provide the four borders of Palota Negyed. Here you will find the Italian Culture Center, the Hungarian Radio, the old National Museum, lovely "walk only" streets, synagogues and churches, restaurants and pubs.)
The apartment itself is on the fourth floor (with elevator access) of a traditional, brick 19th. Century apartment building on Jozsef krt, facing the courtyard. Peaceful, quite, meticulously clean and very practical are the words that best describes this lovely apartment.
Less than a block away from the subway, streetcars and buses, walking distance to museums, to the famed and newly reopened New York Cafe (Boscolo's new Hotel New York), Hauer Cafe, Museum of Applied Arts (the famous art deco exhibition), Great Synagogue and more, the apartment is ideally located.
If you feel like shoping, there is the newly reopened classical Hungarian department store, Skala-Corvin, and a Farmer's market just a block away, as well as smaller department stores.
The bedroom contains a large double bed, nighttables, and a closet. The bathroom is set with glass mosaic tiles, wall hang toilet, and tiled shower. The living room contains a sofabed, television, dvd player, and there is a dining room table with chairs and an open concept kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, caffe maker, plates, dishes and cutlery. Your apartment contains a small built-in safe for your convenience.
We provide linens, towels and other necessities. The apartment has its private heating system, air-conditioner and its own washer and dryer. Your local host lives in the building, and if there is anything you may need you should not hesitate to contact your hosts, as they would be more than happy to arrange taxis, make reservations to restaurants and cultural events.
- Wireless, high speed Internet line access.
- If you prefer daily cleaning, it could be arranged for a nominal fee.
- For parking we use two close by, monitored garages for a nominal fee.

"We just arrived home in Canada and want to thank you for your help in making our trip to Budapest just super. Your apartment was well equipped with everything we needed. It was extremely clean and comfortable and the location was easy walking distance to just about everywhere. Your help and tips in advance of the trip made everything smooth and Georgy's hospitality while there made us feel completely relaxed." Rosanne and Dan - Ottawa, Canada
" We had an amazing time in Budapest staying in a terrific apartment centrally located on the Pest side of Budapest. It was quiet, centrally located and terrifically fitted out with everything one could want - a home away from home and having a washing machine and dryer was absolutely wonderful. Supermarkets, ATM machines and public transport were at your doorstep and we would recommend this apartment to the most discerning traveller. " A&JB from Melbourne, Australia

Why the Owner Chose Budapest
I grew up in Budapest. For that matter I grew up in this apartment building, built in the beginning of the last Century. I left Hungary a long time ago but I never gave up visiting my parent, my sister and other family members, and certainly did not give up on introducing Hungary to my kids. I kept flying back almost every year, and when this apartment right next door to my parents came up for sale I grabbed the opportunity to "own a piece" of the "Old Country". I love to take my kids to Budapest, and I would never choose an other location than this apartment. It is safe, quite, and close to everything without the hassle of the tourist traps, the noise and lack of transportation. Not at last this property is legal. It has been registered with the local authorities, so rest assured, we are paying taxes, and you are contributing to the local economy (as cheesy as it sounds.)
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
Contrary to any advertising you will read, Budapest does not have a Downtown. It does have a tourist center with all the expensive stores, restaurants, and entertainment but the major attractions are scattered around the city, so if you are not keen to stay where all the tourists are staying, this is the place for you. The subway, streetcar, busses are two minutes away, and you can reach downtown by transportation or by walking. For that matter some of the museums, cafes, farmer market, and other attractions are closer or as easy to reach from here than from many of the properties that you can rent for more. The apartment is 2 blocks away from the New York Cafe (Bosco), 2 streetcar stops (or a short walk) from the Museum of Applied Arts, same distance to the Large Synagogue, the farmer's market is almost just across the street, fantastic restaurants, like Fulemule, just around the corner.....
Quaility 1 bdr, legal, tourist self-catering apartment in the Center of Budapest.

This is me, Eva with my two girls and with my adorable husband, who was a good sport, when I said "I thought we should buy an apartment in Budapest." Although he has said "I know I cannot win, I will either have to listen to you telling me what a great opportunity we passed on, or I have to listen to you telling me what a great idea this was..."

Hello Eva, We are having the greatest time here. I wonder if we can extend our stay by one day. We've had plenty of langos and have been to the restaurant on the corner a couple of times. Great suggestions. We have been on the road and in 6 countries in the last 2 months, and there is no doubt that Hungarians are the most friendly, outgoing and fun people to be around. Thanks again, Lee

Dear Eva: Thank you for the wonderful rental. We enjoyed the apartment very much! It was wonderfully convenient for the metro and the tram service. The apartment building though on a main road was quiet for sleeping. The apartment had everything we needed to make it easier traveling with my son. We especially appreciated the washing machine! I would highly recommend your apartment to anyone thinking of visiting Budapest.

"Am back in Britain after an excellent stay in Budapest and a real experience of a 3 days in Ukraine. A great appartment in a fantastic location - I shall be sure to stay there again in the future as I go to Budapest at least twice a year. Many thanks to the host too for making sure everything was ok and welcoming me. Perhaps you could let me know the minimum rental period for future reference. I have some friends and family coming to Hungary in 2006 and I shall be sure to recommend the appartment to them."

Dear Eva, We had a great time in Budapest and your apartment was very comfortable. The hosts were very nice to us and made us feel welcome. They showed us around the neighborhood and made sure we were OK. Budapest is a beautiful city and we really enjoyed walking everywhere. We ate in the Jewish-Hungarian Restaurant, (Nightingale ?) and enjoyed the food as well as the owner, Andras Singer. He spoke Russian to my wife and English to me! We had a great time on our trip! All the best.
