  • Austin Getaway

"I stayed at downtown view during the middle is September for a long weekend getaway. Overall I recommend this property. The emails and phone calls I had setting up the rental were easy. Carrie and Heather were very attentive and nice to work with. The location was exactly what I wanted. It is a short drive to pretty much everything - Soho, Bartlett Springs, downtown, airport... But close enough! It was secluded, which is what I wanted. The view of the Austin Skyline was amazing. I would sit out on the porch or balcony every morning and evening (when it wasn't raining) to enjoy the quiet and the view. The hot tub was nice, perfect for sitting in when it was raining outside (it isn't covered overhead, but still nice). The memory foam bed was comfortable. I didn't use the other bedrooms, or loft. The master bath was nice. The shower is unique, a little bigger than a normal shower area, and very nice. The kitchen was easy to cook in. The couches were comfortable. Internet was easy to get on. I watched TV but didn't watch any DVDs. The remotes were a little tricky to figure out at first. The decor is very eclectic - which is what Austin is all about! The neighbors cat(s) do hang around the property, but I absolutely loved this. One of them did not come close, but the other was very loving and it was nice to have a companion. I think they would stay afar if you didn't encourage them, just in case you have allergies or don't like cats. It is a house out close to nature, so you have to expect bugs. As long as you kept the porch lights off, it wasn't too bothersome. I also heard frogs or toads throughout the day, but didn't go searching for them. There is a big grocery store a block away (via car). I cooked my own breakfast, but enjoyed the wondeful restaurants Austin offers for other meals. This was a nice experience, far enough away for peace and quiet, yet close enough to join the hustle and bustle of the city easily."

  • Great place to stay in Austin

"We had a great time at this condo and would highly recommend it! Charles was very welcoming and his recommendations for food and drinks nearby were perfect. We picked the location because I thought 6th street was supposed to be a good nighttime/music district. We visited on our first night, a few blocks away, but realized the nickname "dirty 6th" was accurate. Luckily, the condo is in the east Austin area, which has a ton of really great restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The actual condo is really nice...no issues at all and fun to watch the city passing by via the view. Would definitely rent this condo again!"

  • Sanity for Rent

"If you need to gather yourself away from chaos, here's an ideal destination. Prep the coffee-pot before you hit the hay in the oh-so-comfortable Murphy bed (the owners have left pre-ground coffee for you), take a walk or run around the old-Austin neighborhood or through UT, come on 'home' to Gallery House and shower up with hot water that never runs out. Everything you need at your fingertips. Including reading material."

  • Personally Perfect

"I stayed in the studio apartment on the first floor for five nights while visiting my daughter's family who live on Paramount Avenue. This unit is exactly as described and was perfect for me. Ann and Scott's hospitality, immediate availability to respond to my questions, and superbly appointed accommodations could not have been improved upon, making my stay a beautiful balance of time with family (especially my twin baby grandsons!) and time for myself. It was lovely to walk "home" each evening to my own space that had everything I could possibly need and other amenities I truly enjoyed, such as the outdoor private sitting area. Although my visit coincided with an unseasonable cold snap, once I was shown how to use the heating unit, I was cozy and comfortable. I appreciated how quickly Scott appeared after I called Ann to ask about the heater - it was literally within 10 minutes of my call that he knocked on the door. My plan is to stay at the Stone House every time I return to Austin. Highly recommend this wonderful retreat. Thanks, Ann & Scott!"
