Perfect place for a getaway!
Really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was beautiful and had a gorgeous view! Will definitely come back.
Nice, clean, and next to the river.
Once we got in and figured out how to get power it was great.( The no power part was a little frustrating. Luckily someone was working next door and could help us. ) But after that everything was great. The place is nice ,clean ,quiet and next to the river! We enjoyed our stay.
Perfect getaway on Rock Creek
What a great property! The cabin offers outstanding views and is located on Rock Creek on the opposite side of the creek from Rock Creek Rd. This allows you to sit back each evening and enjoy a beverage listening to only the sounds of the creek. The cabin is in excellent condition and is very well furnished. As others have noted, the cabin is off grid with solar power and a generator as back-up. However, my small family including a toddler had no issues with a lack of power at the cabin during our stay using only solar power. If you love to fly fish this is the cabin for you. It's the perfect starting point to fish Rock Creek in either direction. Both the owner and caretaker of this cabin were great to work with and we would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay on Rock Creek. We will definitely be back!
A Mountain Retreat for the Family
Our family of five escaped the rat race to this outstanding mountain retreat. The rustic drive in allowed us the seclusion from tourists and the city while still allowing for nice daytrips to Philipsburg and Missoula. The cabin is gorgeous with new stylish finishes and completely functional amenities. The cabin slept five of us comfortably, allowing each the privacy we wanted. The cabin is perfectly sized for a family get away with kids or two couples. We enjoyed great views hiking Hogback ridge and a remote streamside hike along Welcome Creek (wear pants...you've been warned). The fishing along Rock Creek is worth the trip. Flows were unseasonably high for our trip but if you we still did quite well. Both Clint and the caretaker were available to help but all of our needs were met. We plan to return, I miss the place already.
Excellent experience at Rock Creek Cabin
We spent 8 nights at the Rocking Rock Creek Cabin and had an excellent time. The cabin is new and in great shape. The location is perfect if you want to fish and explore all the Rock Creek and surrounding National Forest has to offer. The cabin is off the electric grid, so one has to be smart with power usage, but we never had an issue despite it being cloudy and rainy more days than not. There is also a back-up generator in case necessary. The owner clearly has attention to detail as a lot of the little things that make a place great were there: hammock next to the river, great fire pit, good kitchen equipment, plenty of wood, nice outhouse in case the main bathroom gets crowded! The owner also helped us out big time by dropping something off for us in Missoula, thus saving us 2.5 hours of driving round trip. I highly recommend a stay at this cabin.
Gorgeous Rock Creek property rental, exclusive privacy and ON the Creek!
This property is such a gem! It has decor inside that is perfect for the area, mounts of animals the owner has shot, a nice propane run refrigerator (very clean!), gas range stove top that is top of the line, and the view is spectacular. Weather you fish, hunt, or just like to sit on the porch, this place is cozy and private. I cannot wait to go back!! The boats that float by on the Creek with people fly fishing are fun to watch from the porch during the float season...it is a very special place! There is also a boat put in right at the bridge near the house. Convenient and so nice for a getaway!
