The house was very nice and had everything we expected.
Jekyll Island is a great place to visit. Very laid back slow pace with nice beaches. Some of the restaurants were very pricey, but others were reasonable. Just go online and view menus so that you will not be surprised. The house was very nice, very clean and the online pictures were not in any way deceiving. Would rent this same home again if we ever return to Jekyll. The Christmas decorations around the island were beautiful.
Comfortable home, but lacks basic cleaning supplies. You will need to bring your own paper products
This property is a mixed bag. It was in a good location and it was comfortable. But, I was amazed that the following items were not provided: no toilet paper, no paper towels, no trash bags. No paper products at all. I had one dish towel in the kitchen but no dish detergent and nothing to wash dishes with; no dishcloth. I had to go shopping to buy these basic products that have always been furnished in other properties that I have rented. Someone had lft travel size containers of hand lotion and shampoo which I thought was hilarious. They probably got those items free and were trying to impress. There were two pods for the dishwasher to last a week for a party of 5. Whoever is cleaning the property needs to be fired. The house looked like it had not been dusted in quite a while. Not good for clients with allergies. The first day we were there the garbage disposal was n
ot working. My husband managed to fix that. My husband told me to stay out of the back yard because the prior client had a dog they did not clean up after. I had an elderly woman in my party and I was quite concerned that she had to use a shower that had not rubber mat inside the shower and no throw rug outside the shower. I was really concerned about her slipping. Even hotels offer these safety features. The one good thing I can say is that my deposit was returned within the week after we left, so I appreciated that. If someone had told me to bring the paper products we would need, I could have easily done that. I did not think to ask because they have always been provided in previous rentals. Someone is not looking after clients. Are they only interested in getting a rental? Sad.
The home is wonderful with plenty of room and a beautiful fenced back yard.
Beautiful home, immaculately clean with plenty of space. The backyard is beautiful with a fence for our dog. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful with lots of shade. Short bike ride to the beach access. We would love to return to Jekyll Island and stay at this home again!
A great place to stay
It was a great place to stay and our dogs loved it.
Quiet Family Beach Vacation.
It was our first visit to Jekyll Island and we loved it! The house is a short drive to all attractions, the beach is only a few blocks away. Pool access was about a mile away at a hotel. At the time of our stay (late August) it was very quiet, one afternoon there were only a few other people on the beach. Very relaxing. We loved the shops and restaurants on the island.
There's some great golf and even a 9 hole course by the mini-golf. Bike friendly with paths around island. The house was built in the 60's, so the decor is a bit dated. It was professionally cleaned before our arrival and it had everything we needed for our stay. Looked like the owners used the fireplace, so there was a smokey smell in the family room. There was a charcoal grill available to use, the backyard was fenced with a patio and picnic tables. Overall a lovely vacation!
We really enjoyed staying at this house. Everything in the house was well furnished, especially the kitchen. Nice walk to the beach. Hope we can come back next year.
