About Melissa Davey

Hi everyone! My name is Melissa. My co-owner Heather and I are excited to own this great house on the water! Both Heather and I were born and raised in the tri-state area. In my other life, I'm a real estate agent in the DC/MD area. Heather has a fascinating history in Vet Physical Therapy and drumming.

Melissa Davey purchased this house in 2016

Why Melissa Davey chose Lewes

Heather and I found this house and fell in love with the tranquil waterfront, all while close to beaches and surrounding beauty. Being steps away from the water, Heather and I love kayaking and paddle boarding and recognized this as an ideal place to launch our gear. We saw a lot of potential in the house and are actively trying to modernize the property for everyone's stay.

What makes this house unique

Kayak and paddlesboards can be launched right outside. Bring your own or rent our kayak's (currently 3 available) and 1 paddleboard (4 adult life vests available onsite) for 1 for $100/wk for 1, 2 for $175/wk, all for $300/wk. We'll ask you to sign a liability waiver. Compare with local shops that charge $175/wk for 1.

July Angola Bay Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time, and the location was perfect. Only suggestion is the photo shown is not the house--It is part of the view from the back. The actually house is nice, but the photo needs to be of it, so you know what you are looking for when you drive up the first time.

Perfect Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was our third year in Angola by the Bay, and our first at this property. We love the community. It is great for families! The view from this home is stunning and we loved being able to walk out back and put our kayaks or fishing poles right in. The hosts made it easy. Almost everything you could need is already there.

Beautiful creek views

  • 5 of 5

Simple house for those who simply want to get away. Quiet and away from the noise of the beaches, yet close enough to visit the tourist areas. My father went fishing twice a day in the creek.

Amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot get over the view from this house. We saw hawks, bald eagles and all sorts of other water fowl. A great blue heron (my favorite) flew right past the window! This place had everything we needed. Great for our pups too! Quiet neighborhood with really nice neighbors. Thanks Melissa!

AMAZING!!

  • 5 of 5

Melissa was amazing to work with. We had water damage and needed to find a place to stay while our house got repaired. She quickly responded to us and kept in contact to make sure everything was great. She always made sure to see how progress was going to see if we needed to extend our stay. She's sweet, kind, and a wonderful person. She's beyond helpful and their house is BEAUTIFUL. New hardwood floor light and bright walls and enough space for 8 of us with our 3 animals. Being right on the crab dock is nice and the neighbors are so sweet. We couldn't have found a better place to stay.

Perfect for a Family Winter Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for a last-minute winter long weekend getaway for our family. It looks very small from the outside, but it was homey and had plenty of space for our family of 2 adults and two teens (and sleeps more than that). We really appreciated being able to bring our dog, and he seemed right at home right away. We agree with another reviewer who said the home felt surprisingly secluded for being in a neighborhood with close neighbors. Right on the water. We heard geese each morning and evening while lying in bed, so it truly felt like a change from our hectic daily life. If it had been warmer (we had sleet and rain each evening) I'm sure we would have enjoyed dinner on the deck overlooking the water. The home has direct access from the backyard to the inlet and it was pleasant looking out over the water from inside the living room. Would be perfect for kayaking in warmer weather (we did see a few hardy souls out kayaking during our stay). It is centrally located to Lewes, Cape Henlopen, Rehoboth and Bethany Beach, but away from the crowded areas (yes, Rehoboth was swarming with people in February) so we were easily able to visit each area in a weekend yet stop back at the house for lunch or just to relax. We enjoyed watching the Olympics in the cozy living room in the evenings. Wooded trails throughout the neighborhood were perfect for walking the dog and getting some exercise. Neighbors we ran into were friendly. The house was very clean. Hard surface flooring throughout was nice, and the kitchen had everything we needed (even a waffle iron!).

Those with mobility issues might appreciate that while there are one or two steps up into the house in front and back, the house is all one level and the shower has a built-in seat.

Melissa was very responsive and easy to work with. We would gladly stay here again if we're ever planning to be in the area.
