We had a great time in this cottage.
We had a great time in this cottage. The living space is ideal, open plan with the well-equipped kitchen merging into a large living space. The wood-burning stove is a lovely feature and having a large screen TV and DVD player was handy too. All the bedrooms were clean and finished nicely and with each one having an en-suite, there were no bathroom queues. The large garden was great for the dogs to let off steam and we'd definitely book again. Although it is a lovely, quiet setting, be aware there's not a lot of 'life' in Penallt and we struggled to find a local store for instance, so bring what you'll need to survive on until you can get to do some shopping . The local pub (The Boat) is at the bottom of a steep hill, so coming back is definitely a longer walk (25-35 mins) than getting there!

A beautiful home which is steeped in history.
A beautiful home which is steeped in history. Sympathetically restored and retaining original features. Beautifully clean and a lovely gesture of fresh roses and Prosecco upon arrival. Large double garage and a gated drive provide that added extra. A fantastic stay. Tips: 1. Take slippers... cold slate floors 2. Very high ceiling voids can leave the home a bit chilly... lovely woollen blankets on the sofas provided, but remember a dressing gown.
