About Robert Gaerthé
Allthough I was born in The Hague, Amsterdam is more home to me then any other place I ever lived. My children were born in Amsterdam and after some moving around we finally all came back here. Home! I am a painter, portraits a.o. and I also love to cook. Being a host comes very naturally to me. All our lives we had friends staying with us, sometimes months on end. Feel free to contact me, anytime. I hope you will enjoy your stay in Amsterdam.
Why Robert Gaerthé chose Amsterdam-Centrum
Although still located in the center of Amsterdam this area is a bit away from the hectic tourist parts. While still easy to walk there where also the crowds go to, coming home is being away from the noise! Our guests do have that choice. Our area , with the University just around the corner, offers multiple choices in reasonably priced small restaurants and coffee shops due to this being a student area. Closer into the center is where you start paying tourist prices.
What makes this Studio unique
Allthough the Stuidio is totally private your host is near whenever so required. We, me and my wife. do live in the same building so assistance, if/when reguired, is always there. Other then that, there is total privacy!

Great Place to Stay
We enjoyed our time in Amsterdam at Robert's studio apartment. It was in a very good location - close to the metro and not too far from Central Station. It was also within walking distance of several attractions. Robert provided a nice selection of breakfast foods for our stay which was very thoughtful. The apartment was clean and we would stay there again. Thanks Robert!
Thank you Carol and Robert, for staying at Studio Six!
Welcome back any time!
Cozy, homey, and well located apartment in a quieter area
Loved staying here! This was the last stop on a several week trip that was booked through Airbnb otherwise, and we felt most at home here even though we stayed in more expensive places. Was warmly welcomed by Beppie, Robert's wife, with a full fridge (awesome) and tips for the area. The location was easy to get to using public transit from the airport. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, but close to everything. We were able to walk nearly everywhere, and slept well. Thanks for everything!
Robert has a great vrbo
Robert has a great vrbo. He met us at his place and explained everything. He had stocked the fridge and the place was perfect. Would I stay there again?? In a heartbeat,-!! Thanks again, Robert
A good studio for two people
The apartment is located in a quiet location, close to the city center. We walked everywhere. Robert let us do check in
earlier than usual. He met us. He prepared us a little meal. Robert, thank you very much. We were at home.
Warm welcome in a great location
Apartment as described, clean, great location, quiet, safe neighbourhood. Public transit is conveniently very close by, we walked everywhere from this location easily. Comfortable bed, linens and bedding excellent quality. Onsite owner, Robert, very responsive and attentive. Pantry and fridge stocked with complementary food and drinks to welcome guests, so thoughtful. Well equipped kitchen. Shower had great water pressure, lovely plush towels, soap, shampoo, and body wash in abundance. Robert made us feel very welcome in the private studio. Excellent communication with him prior and after booking and during our stay.
Would definitely stay here again, very positive experience, exceeded our expectations.
25 minute walk to downtown or a 4 minute walk to the metro. Robert was a great host going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Perfect size apartment for a traveling couple. If you plan on partying all night in Amsterdam this is not a good spot as it is 15 meters from a noisy school that starts early !
Poised to become an ever more popular destination for Amsterdam tourists, the Plantage (Plantation) is a splendid place to devote a day or more. In 2011, the area reached 4 million visitors for the first time, with its wonderful accumulation of cultural attractions - from the former Jewish Quarter, to the Tropics Museum, to one of the nation's favorite zoos. Also walking distance from, a.o., the Rembrandt's house, famous flea market, The Hermitage etc. All the "has to visit while in Amsterdam" places are within reasonable walking distances.
