We enjoyed our stay. Mary & Bob met us when we got to the house. Have us info for day trips. Will be
Clean and spacious with a great kitchen, nice for two or three people. There were a lot of very thoughtful details.
We come to this area frequently where part of our family lives and we like to not have to go out for every meal. We like to sit all together and (the dining table seats only 4-5 people comfortably) so we were not able to do that. We can be a group of nine.
It was tricky to find in the dark. Maybe some reflective stakes or small signs would be helpful indicating the last few crucial turns to enter the grounds.
All in all it was a really nice stay.
We loved the quiet and peaceful area in Nambe. Beautiful night sky. This casita is exactly what we were looking for and with all the amenities. The location was perfect for our day trips to the mountains for hiking and bird watching as well as an easy ride to Santa Fe and Los Alamos. We hope to come back soon.
Everything about our stay was great.. Communication with Mary was easy. Check-in was simple. Directions to the property were precise and easy to follow.
Casa Merlot itself was terrific. The pics were accurate, but they didn’t do the open kitchen/living areas justice. Thanks for the stay. I hope we’ll get to return.
We had a wonderful stay at the Casa Merlot, with plenty of room, WiFi with streaming, a comfortable bed, and a well-equipped kitchen, all in a rural setting
The location is convenient to so many area attractions within a couple of hours. The host was very helpful with suggestions for activities and restaurants. We didn’t have time to do everything we hoped. We plan to return.
It was a great all-around experience!
The casita was clean, spacious and very secluded and quiet. It was perfect for us and our children. Loved the location. We skied 3 different resorts within an hour's drive, and also enjoyed hikes and museums in Sante Fe and Los Alamos (both 30 minutes away).
Cozy getaway for our family. We'd venture into Santa Fe during the day and come back to this quiet and comfy place at night. It sits on a vineyard, we stayed during winter but now want to return during summer/fall to see all the green in the area. They had other places to rent so it could easily become a site for a small family reunion.
The Casita merlot was amazing. Bob and Mary took the time to make sure essentials were available and they went over and beyond with attention to detail. We had a great couple of nights and we will definitely return on our next trip.
The property was not quite as expected, but we enjoyed our stay. Lots of room in the kitchen. We rested well in the comfy bed and appreciated being able to do a little laundry on our last day there. We were hiking @ Bandelier during our stay and it was great to be so close to that destination. The drive down to Santa Fe is quick and easy, so it's not a problem getting back into town if needed/wanted.
Casa Merlot was GREAT. Spacious, clean, well stocked and it had everything we could possibly need. Quiet with stargazing and hummingbirds. We will definitely return!
Really enjoyed our stay, very peaceful and relaxing. It was really nice of Bob to check in to see if we needed anything. Thank you for everything Bob and Mary.
We had an excellent experience with Mary & Bob.
Our only issues were the narrow roads on the last leg of the drive out to the vineyard (effectively one lane at some points) and occasionally being booted out of the streaming services on the smart tv (whether this was an issue with the internet or an issue with the # of people attempting to access the service at the same time we do not know).
The Merlot at Casitas on The Vineyard was as depicted in pictures. We enjoyed our stay and had plenty of room to spread out. The location was quiet and private.
When I asked the owners (Bob & Mary) if there was a gas grill on the property, Bob emailed that there would be a new one there for us to use - and it was! Lovely place - very roomy and private. Secluded and quiet, it everything we needed for a lovely 4 nights.

Spacious, comfortable casita in an idyllic setting
Casa Merlot is lage, and we especially enjoyed our private patio, the huge, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable couches and big-screen TV, and having a washer and dryer in the unit. Mary and Bob were friendly and welcoming. We encountered a plumbing problem which they addressed immediately, and except for that bit of inconvenience, our stay would have been a solid five stars. The casita's location is great for getting to some spectacular hikes and places like Bandelier and Ojo Caliente. We'd love to stay there again; the owners really have thought of everything to make the casita a lovely place.

Casita Merlot
Great place to stay, awesome hosts, and convenient for tons of attractions. The kitchen is huge and the place in general is big for a one bedroom. There is opportunity for two twins or a queen bed for additional sleeping in the living area. Located 10 minutes from casinos and flea market, 35 minutes from white water rafting, 20 minutes to world famous Santa Fe Opera House, and 30 minutes to downtown Santa fe shopping and sightseeing. Those are just the things I got to check out. There is more to see if you drive the high road and low road to Taos (wineries, old churches, etc.). The Casita is located adjacent to a winery so the view out the front porch is awesome and relaxing. It is nice to have a full kitchen and your own washer/dryer when traveling for business. Also, easy to find lots of great Mexican food with sopapillas and hatch green chili's everywhere you go! Be ready for some spicy food.
