Very nice place. Conveniently located in middle of Kodiak so easy drive to pretty much anywhere. Within walking distance of downtown area. Host was very accommodating and responsive. Enjoyed our time here. Also, excellent view.
Beautiful home, they thought of everything when it comes to amenities too. Beds were super comfortable, we didn’t spend much time there, but felt very at peace, safe and comfortable. Great view also!
As advertised this is a great home with lots of room and extras (chest freezer, ice chests, plenty of split and stacked dry firewood, extra bedding). Host is very responsive and helpful, The place is spotless and well equipped with nice views and in a good neighborhood. We loved everything about it.
Wonderful view, location, and everything you need!!
We loved our stay here, a perfect location. The view is amazing, we sat on the deck and enjoyed watching the eagles and boats go by. Lots of room, everything you need!! the owner was great !!! We would definitely come back here!!!
Another beautiful property with views and easy access to float plane launch, stores (Safeway & Walmart), and "downtown" which on Kodiak Island is very quaint House is about one mile from harbor, where there is a minimal, brewery, Nuniaq (breakfast/lunch), Henry's, Aquamarine restaurant (side-by-side), bank, info center, all near harbor and easy walking distance. Property, was roomy, clean, and allowed for parking on or off street. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay, and the owners were easy to communicate with. Great stay!
Wonderful house in every way: easy access, great location, super comfortable (not to mention a view of the islands and bay which one could look at for years and never tire). We would rent again in a heartbeat.
6 guys up fishing and there is plenty of room. We have stayed here before and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Kodiak Visit
The property is in a great centralized location with convenient access to all that Kodiak has to offer. Views from back huge deck were amazing. The home was well laid out and was very comfortable with every amenity that you would likely need.
Home owner was available and very responsive to any questions we had. She also offered very good recommendations for activities and restaurants.
I would definitely rent this property again.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. I hope you made some wonderful memories. Thank you so much for taking care of my home.
Thanks to Miranda, Andy and Rio for a lovely stay on Kodiak. We enjoyed the home and all Kodiak has to offer, especially the wildlife and fabulous views. My only recommendation would be to invest in quality bedding for support and to provide patio furniture and a propane grill for outdoor cooking on the fabulous deck with spectacular views. We will stay again if we have the opportunity!

Hi Mary, Thank you for taking care of our home. Thank you for the suggestions. We have added a grill for the deck and are looking for patio furniture. It's not easy to find companies that will ship to the island, but I will keep trying. Please come visit again. Don't wait another 50 years!
Great, I don't know if I missed it but it would have been nice to know about the roll away. We thought it only had 4 beds so we brought air mattresses with....the house is great.. I'm assuming you know but there is a leak under the kitchen sink. There was a container there

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. The house has 3 queen beds and 2 twins with 2 roll out trundles underneath. I did not know about a leak under the sink so thank you for letting me know. I will have a contractor look at it. Thank you so much for telling me! - Miranda
A great alternative to a hotel! This location with lots of space to spread our our equipment and re-organize made for relaxed evenings after our days were over.

About the host

I enjoy traveling and meeting new people. I fell in love with Alaska's beauty and the people who live here. I purchased this house in 2017 and hope you enjoy your stay.
Why they chose this property
I chose this house because of the spectacular view of the channel where seals, otters, and orcas come through. I also liked its location as it's a short 1/2 mile walk to downtown restaurants, marina, and to close to nearby hiking trails.
