Wonderful home in a secluded location. We loved the property - sitting on deck grilling after long hikes in Olympic National Park. It's close enough to Forks for convenience. We saw lots of wildlife.

The location was beautiful. We saw elk outside in the mornings. We had plenty of room to spread out. I especially loved the carved table, fish statue, ping pong table, and views out the back of the property. The kitchen was well stocked. The property was near to the town of Forks, but provided privacy. We enjoyed exploring the beaches and Hoh rainforest from here.

We love having the Elk. Did you see the bunnies? I know there's a cat around too so maybe the bunnies are gone now. Thanks Jeff

This is an absolute gem of a house. The property is tucked away from street noise and has a beautiful and spacious yard and view. The house is huge and fit 8 of us comfortably. The large dining room table was more than perfect for us and the game room was a great man cave. We loved staying in this house for our wedding party in Forks.

My family very much enjoyed our stay at Wild Duc Lodge. The house is very spacious and was equipped with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space in the back of the house. The views from the deck are stunning, and made a great backdrop for our family photo. We also enjoyed the fire pit. Absolutely no complaints about this house.

We loved this property. The view in the back, and even the front of the house was so peaceful. We went up to Washington for a wedding and our family stayed here. The house itself has so much space and was so inviting. We spent some time outside on the patio and even got to see some Elk in the distance. Half of our family had never been to Washington and based on our visit here alone, they said they hope to come back and spend more time in this exact location. Thank you for the perfect house to make some great memories in. We highly recommend this house.

My crew and I loved this spot! We really loved how the space reflected the owners flyfishing buisness/fish theme overall. Felt very cozy in the home and the house has tons of space and great views of elk passing through! Another cool thing was being able to eat dinner outside on that patio which had a bluetooth speaker. Was fun to listen to some music outside. Only thing I would mention about the house would be to add more curtains or blinds. It gets very dark in the house at night and would be great to have curtains, especially on the front windows, to help guests feel a bit more safe at night. Not a big thing at all, but was something we had noticed. Will keep this space in mind for future friend reunion trips!

Thanks for enjoying the Wild Duc Lodge..I too sometimes feel exposed to all those elk looking in at me..Nature is sometimes hard to get used too when theft is rampant in ones natural location.. Thanks for the fun Jeff

About the host

Hosted by Jeff and Lisa Brazda

Host profile image
Being a Washington state fishing guide, I live in Forks all winter and spring for steelhead season. My wife of 35+ years and I have a home in the Yakima River valley near Ellensburg for the rest of the year. I operate a guide/ lodge service in winter and vacation rental from the Wild Duc during the spring and summer months. We both went fife high school and met shortly after, we have a family of 6, us and 3 Labradors that enjoy hunting and fishing year around.

Why they chose this property

After my first visit to Forks , then called the "Steelhead Capitol of the World" I knew I would someday be a resident. Now over 35 years later and 21 seasons of guiding these rivers we purchased our second home here. I feel the area has so much to offer the visitor just passing through that the combination or winter fishing and summer vacation travel made it an easy move.

What makes this property unique

The Wild Duc Lodge is situated down a long private drive and over looks the local landscape from a moderate elevated location giving it just enough tranquility and length of view to be special. A very quiet and serene landscape of local rainforest and meadows commonly grazed by Roosevelt elk herds. Morning local clouds and mist rise off the Sol Duc river giving a special touch. South Easterly view offer amazing sun rises and long shadows at sunset. Centrally located out on the NW Olympic Peninsula being close to the amenities of Parks, Ocean Beaches and five local salmon and steelhead rivers provide outdoor tranquility for all.
