Stable conversion in a Grade 2 listed property

One of two newly converted self-contained stables located within the grounds of Grafton Cottages ‘Shergar’ can sleep a maximum of two adults. This beautifully restored stable has a combined living room and bedroom, complete with a kitchen that is slightly set back from the main residential area and a separate shower room. The stable has been tastefully furnished throughout and equipped with all modern conveniences and home comforts. Complete with mini oven and fridge freezer, and a breakfast bar to accommodate two guests. All towels and linen supplied.

A purpose built summer house is located within the grounds offering a shared facility for laundry, complete with washing machine and ironing board.

High chairs and cots are available on request.

Great place to stay overall

Very nice property, well equipped and fairly comfortable. Easy parking and good location for what we needed. The passing trains were more frequent and louder than expected but not really a problem. The bed was ok but could do with being a pocket sprung mattress or at least an over mattress, just to make it even better 🙂 Hosts were welcoming and helpful

Great little property

Had lovely 2 days stay. Owner sent details early and let us know he wouldn’t be there to welcome us.It is near rail tracks but the noise didn’t bother us as didn’t last long each time a train passed. We got very hot and couldn’t get the skylight to open. Messaged owner and although he was away he arranged for a fan to be brought to us and it was great. It wasn’t far to stoke buruene so we visited there for the day. Also found 2 great places to eat in towcester:truva and watling st. Would recommend accommodation and would stay again.

Lovely Cottage!

Cottage looks just great, very tasteful decorated. It's not oversized big but everything is there and smartly use of space makes the stay very pleasant

A great weekend!

We have just stayed here over the weekend. It was just what we wanted. It was just me and my husband so perfect space. It is essentially in one room - a studio except for the bathroom. Nice decor, good service from owners. I would recommend it!

Brilliant stable conversion apartment.

Gorgeous place to stay for days out with friends. Tim & Nicky were very lovely friendly helpful hosts. The apartment had everything you need and very comfortable.

Nice, comfortable stay. Good parking. Shower temperature is great with really good pressure. Getting to Northampton is quick and straight forward.

Cosy weekend getaway

Perfect spot to stay for our Silverstone weekend. Beautifully laid out stable conversion, spotlessly clean and lovely hosts, who were very helpful in advance of our visit with location and transport information. Blisworth is very pretty and unspoilt, recommend Nings Thai for food!

Small but perfectly formed.

Set in beautiful surroundings with the Canal, shop and hostelries only a short walk away, was perfect for us. The West Coast train line is very close and very busy but no bother at all. After a few trains, completely faded into the background! Anticipate returning next year.

Excellent countryside retreat

Loved staying in this compact converted stable. Hosts were very responsive to any messages left and gave helpful local information. Property clean with good facilities. Would definitely return.

Lovely short stay

We stayed at the Shergar over the bank holiday weekend and it was a brilliant experience. Perfect for a couple’s getaway as it is immaculately clean and has well thought of amenities. The hosts , Tim and Nicky, were very helpful, welcoming and polite; they were also kind enough to allow us check out at our convenience on the day. We would definitely recommend!

Excellent hosts

We stayed in the Shergar studio which was really well designed, equipped and beautifully presented. It was spotless and every detail was considered. It was a very late booking (2 days prior to arrival) but Nicky and Tim made us feel like very valued customers. They were a delight to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou!

We are both now semi-retired. Nicky's work has been in higher education student recruitment and marketing, where Tim has been a Bookie! We both still pick up odd bits of work or consultancy here and there but, in the main, we are happy to be at home and to take time ensuring our property is of the highest standard for our guests whilst, at the same time, delighting in meeting new people and ensuring that they have the best experience we can provide.
We also have a large family of 5 children, all with partners and some with children of their own - we love spending time with them all and this property allows us to do this very well (we usually block out the weekends when they are all coming to stay as there isn't enough room in our house for all of them!).
Finally, we have a fabulous Labradoodle named Herbert. He's such a lovely boy and a great hit with our guests. However, if you don't like dogs, or if he is a bit too 'present' during your stay, just mention it to us and we will have a word in his ear!

We bought Grafton Villa back in 2005 and have been ladelling on the love (and emptying our bank accounts) ever since. The renovations have been a real labour of love but we do love the property and feel very privileged to live here, so the love is sort of a natural part of it all!
Getting the outbuildings renovated (the cottage we did in 2009 and the stables were both finished in 2014), has meant that we are able to share some of this privilege with others, which has been great. We have met some wonderful people from all over the world, many of whom come back to visit us time after time - so we guess we are getting it right!

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

you have your own front door. You can spend your entire stay in isolation or stop for a chat, whichever better suits your mood.
We are, however, on the same property footprint as you so you will see us (and Herbert) around and can always knock the door if you want help or advice on anything to make your stay more interesting or comfortable
This is one of three rental properties on this site (the others being Shergar and The Cottage) which, between them, can sleep 8 people - ideal for family gatherings or events. Not available for hen or stag parties though - sorry!
