Fabulous break
Cherry Tree Cottage, Great Bircham is an excellent find. Spotlessly clean, so well equipped that we were not short of anything - the owners seemed to have thought of everything.
We felt at home from the moment we walked in the door - we even managed to enjoy the garden furniture, which was a real bonus for the end of March.

Well equipped comfort...but.
This cottage was one of the best equipped and ultimately most comfortable which we have had after over 20 years of cottage holidays. The fitments and fittings were of high quality and sensibly arranged e.g. adequate hooks and shelves in bathroom, fine range of cooking utensils. The furnishings were comfortable and well appointed. The but is the heating for winter breaks. We drove through Storm Franklin to arrive late in the afternoon as requested, to find just one of the radiators downstairs operating and the bathroom one off and freezing cold. After studying the instruction manuals for the heaters (4 different kinds), which fortunately were included in the folder, we managed to get heat out of them. It then took c48h before the cottage became adequately warm. That said from thereon in it was a pleasure to be in the cottage and enjoy the village and local scenery and walks.

Our holiday
The cottage is nicely situated near to Holkham Estate and Kings Lynn. The village shop very useful. The Kings Head Hotel we had a Sunday lunch there food and service was excellent. We will be going again but not during the height of the season as the cottage is then much to expensive. The cottage is well equipped

Lovely Cottage
We booked this short break as a gift for my Mum's 80th. The cottage was clean and well equipped. The village stores had everything that we needed. On a very wet Tuesday, we walked up to the Cafe and we were made to feel very welcome. Great service and good food.
We booked into the Kings Head Hotel for dinner. Good service, friendly staff. The food was amazing, the fish cakes are to die for and the chicken burgers are fantastic and a great selection of gin, many locally made. Would definitely recommend a visit.
We visited the windmill in Great Bircham, a very interesting place full of history.
Great Bircham is a lovely village and a great base to go exploring the area.
Hope to re visit one day.
