Modern and comfortable apartment in the oldest neighborhood in Rome

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Clara and Massimo's apartment. Where to start? The location is perfect for exploring the city. The apartment was comfortable; the air conditioning worked perfectly. The bed was cozy and the apartment was quiet despite the busy and noisy neighborhood. The shower was great and it was wonderful to have espresso first thing every morning so easily!

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is in a really great location. It's close to all that you want to see in Rome. The space is very clean and well kept. The ceiling is a little low, so it is not ideal not tall people, really anyone close to 6 feet tall, but otherwise perfect.

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

Clara's apartment was a great combination of modern furnishings in a wonderful old building. Clara provided many little touches that made our stay more enjoyable. She had homemade jams, chocolates, a great coffee maker with coffee and lovely bath products. Clara offered suggestions for good restaurants and information on the neighborhood. The location is ideal. It is a short walk from the Metro stop. The neighborhood is very lively with numerous restaurants, pizzerias and wine bars. There are bakeries, boutiques, and coffee bars all within a few blocks. We found a wonderful little grocery store for wine, cheese and snacks. We also discovered the Mercato Monti Urban Market on a Saturday. What a find with the gorgeous handmade clothing and jewelry. The apartment is within walking distance of most of the major tourist attractions like the Forum and Colosseum. Other sites like the Vatican can be easily reached with a quick ride on the Metro. Clara has numerous books and maps for all areas of the city. We loved our time in Rome and would like to come back and spend more time in the Monti neighborhood. It was a great way to experience a Roman neighborhood away from the main tourist areas. We felt very much at home in Clara's apartment.

You really could not pick a more central and well stocked location in all of Rome!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location of this apartment in Rome. Our welcome was very friendly by owner Clara, who showed us around the small, but comfortable apartment. It was very well stocked in the kitchen with all the cooking and cleaning utensils and tools we needed. We were even offered food, bottled water and Italian liquors.

The bathroom was spacious and clean and included a washer/dryer machine for doing our laundry - essential after a couple weeks on the road. Wireless worked effortlessly as did the TV. Lots of books around about Rome and its surrounding to entertain and inspire us while we rested our tired feet.

Even though you are staying one block off Cavour, and literally down the street from the forum, once you close the front windows at night the apartment is virtually silent. It was heaven after the loud, raucus and crazy days hiking around the city.

Plenty of great restaurants, bars and cafes - and don't forget the great gelato! - within walking distance. varying prices, so you'll never go hungry at any price level.

All and all, we loved this apartment and its location. Just perfect for our small group of 3.

---> One thing you should know about the apartment: This is an OLD building and the ceilings are VERY LOW. we were three guys who were all over 6 feet tall. We all were constantly banging our heads on the lovely, but low, wood beams that go through the apartment. So if you are tall, be aware and look out!
