Tern Cottage 2 bedroom cottage with indoor heated pool close North Norfolk coast

Tern Cottage is a cosy single-story barn conversion suitable for a family of 4. The bright contemporary living space overlook gardens and privately owned farmland. The fenced gardens mean that you can arrive fling open the doors and allow the children to run, discover the play spaces and make new friends all within the watchful eyes of their parents. The accommodation is part of a cluster of converted barns close to South Creake benefitting from excellent onsite amenities including the luxury indoor salt dosed swimming pool, tennis courts, games room, cycle store & 24-hour laundry.

Tern has two bedrooms and an open plan kitchen dining & living space. The rooms all have vaulted ceilings with an airy feel. The bright living space has a dining area, comfy sofas a Smart TV and a selection of games & books. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with room for a travel cot and ample storage space in the drawers and wardrobe. The second bedroom has clothes storage with two 3ft single beds suitable adults or children.. There is a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower, handbasin & WC. Fluffy white hand and bath towels provided for guest use. The home from home kitchen is well-equipped kitchen with plenty of cupboard & worktop space, ideal for whipping up family meals and picnics. Appliances include a fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher & gas oven. Cupboards and drawers are stocked with cutlery, crockery glasses pans and oven trays. There is also a toaster, Tassimo coffee machine and cafetiere and tea towels and oven gloves are provided.

Outside there is a private patio and fenced garden with a gate and direct access to the shared gardens and play areas. On the patio you'll find a charcoal barbecue and garden furniture ideal for informal al fresco dining. The gardens are east facing and an ideal spot for a sundowner as the sun sets at the end of a busy day exploring the Norfolk coast. There is plenty of private parking and E.V. charging available onsite.

Great holiday

We enjoyed being able to use the pool, kids playing on the field and all the other facilities like the games room. Staff were very helpful when we needed them. Location great for visiting some of the sights of Norfolk.

Relaxing holiday in Norfolk

We enjoyed our stay in Norfolk. The holiday home was clean and well equipped. The pool was in good condition and warm. We also really enjoyed the tennis courts and games room.

Great spot. Our kids loved playing with other kids in the mornings and afternoon in the field behind the cottage. Very safe enclosed area. They also loved exploring the play room and of course the swimming pool. Great stay with kids, lots to do in the nearby area too.

Our second visit and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My children absolutely loved the swimming pool and the space to run around outside. The cottage was clean and comfortable and the staff were very responsive. Close to so many good places to visit, and the owners offer lots of recommendations which is brilliant. We’ll definitely come back.

Excellent stay

We booked this cottage along with two others so our wider family could spend time together. It worked brilliantly - the accommodation was great, the facilities well thought through and easy to use. It was great being able to have dinner outside and watch the children play on the playground. We will definitely be returning.

A luxury holiday

We love staying at Cranmer Country Cottages, especially for the beautiful warm swimming pool, and the Norfolk countryside. I have to say that there were at times, twice of which were in the middle of the night, very loud noises from aircraft landing at the nearby Sculthorpe landing strip (which I read has the second longest runway in Europe). But I would happily go back to CCC for another stay, and would just put up with these aircraft noises.

A fantastic swing, great for the kids

The kids loved the play area and the pool. We did find that the pool may have been over chlorinated or something as it gave us stinging eyes. The house was comfortable and well equipped. We found plenty to do within the nearby vicinity and would definitely consider coming back!

Tern Cottage -Cranmer Cottages

Two friends and I booked the cottage for the weekend as we were doing the Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike on the Saturday. It was the perfect stay for us. Comfortable and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing our tired bodies in the pool on Sunday! The outside area is simply stunning and we very much enjoyed eating alfresco watching the sunset. We would love to come back with families in tow to make use of the games room, tennis courts and field/garden. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. The perfect weekend- Thank you x

Perfect accommodation for 4

We stayed in Tern along with our eldest grandson while the rest of our family stayed in Avocet and Garden House close by. This proved to be a perfect arrangement for us, being able to escape from the noise and commotion of the 7 other grandchildren! Tern is perfect for 4 both for space and equipment. It is ideally located for the swimming pool, games room and the field for games and outdoor play. Can’t recommend it highly enough. We will be back!

Restful stay

Very last minute stay here. Cottage was lovely and modern. Nice to receive a welcome pack. There is an onsite laundrette which was handy. You need to pay for the tumble dryer or there’s washing lines at the cottage. Games Room and Pool were an added bonus and as we were the only ones there had more time in the pool. Owners were introduced themselves but were not intrusive and were very communicative via email. I did suggest some items that I thought would be useful for other stays. The only thing I would suggest would be for a mobile number to contact the owner rather than email as I don’t feel as if that would be as quick in an emergency.

3 nights in Tern

This time we stayed in Tern cottage for 3 nights. We returned to Cranmer due to its ideal location, being roughly 15 mins from Wells and Holkham. If you're not eating out, there's a nearby Walsingham farm shop. Supermarket such as Waitrose can also deliver here. The cottage is well appointed. The living space is open plan with great view of the garden space. It was a comfortable space including the beds. The main selling point is the swimming pool. It's excellent to have for a family stay with these facility. Also having both open swim at the start / end of the day as well as a rota offering private swim is perfect. The garden (or rather the field on the back) is the perfect open space ideal for family play. Although we wouldn't hesitate to go back, if we were to pick fault or to have to ask for improvements then it would be: - An insect netting for the sliding door. There were a lot of flies in the cottage after opening doors on a warm day - A larger sink in the bathroom, it was adequate, but small. - More storage in the bathroom, particularly for your items around/near the mirror - Address or notice of the smell to the main bedroom, which seemed to come from the old building walls on the garden side

Hi Michael Thank you for leaving your review i am pleased you enjoyed your recent stay. We will look into your recommended improvements. It is really helpful if guests report any shortcomings during their stay to allow us to investigate any issues such as odd smells. We have looked into providing fly screens, however we feel that itis not practacable for the sliding patio doors as children are often running in and out to play in the gardens. As we are surrounded by the beautiful Norfolk countryside seasonal insects can be an issue for some guests. I believe that portable fly screens are available online and you would be welcome to bring them with you for use during your stay. We do provide environmentally friendly insect sprays and we ask guests to deal with insects as they would in their own home.

The converted barns and cottages at Cranmer offer a chance for families to wind down and spend time together enjoying the superb onsite facilities, whilst giving the car a rest! The cluster of properties are perfectly located close to some of the best beaches on the North Norfolk coast whilst nestling in a beautiful rural location. The holiday barns share a fabulous luxury indoor heated pool, two all-weather tennis courts an indoor heated games room and easy access to safe outdoor space from the doorstep. There is the option to share holidays with extended family or friend whilst still having ones own front door by hiring several or all of the properties at once. For cycling enthusiasts there are some great local cycle routes along the quiet back roads all the way to the beach at Holkham.
The whole site has great eco credentials along with several E.V charging points for guests travelling in electric vehicles.
Owners Chris & Becci live onsite. There is a small team of enthusiastic and friendly staff around during the week to help with local knowledge and advice and to help guests get the most out of their stay.
