About this property

Pass the Keys | Cosy terrace within city walls ideal for exploring

About this space
Cosy terrace within the city walls - a perfect base for exploring.

Newly renovated 3-bed Victorian terrace in a prime location within the medieval city walls. A 2-minute walk from the high street means you're close to the hustle and bustle of the city centre yet in a quiet location for night-time.
With proximity to Canterbury West and East train stations, The Cathedral; plus, various bars, restaurants, Cinemas, and The Marlowe Theatre for entertainment, there really is something for everyone!
The space
Comfortable 3-bedroom terrace only moments away from the bustling cobbled streets of Canterbury. Full of character with an original fireplace, terracotta kitchen floor tiles, sash windows, and antique furniture throughout. The modern interior and choice of decorative finishes give an 'insta' worthy feel.

GROUND FLOOR:
- Cosy lounge with a 2-seater sofa and a 'cuddler' sofa
- Smart TV and access to Freeview channels and Netflix.
- There is also a DVD Player and a large selection of DVDs.
- Superfast TalkTalk Fibre broadband
- An easily connectable Alexa Bluetooth music speaker
- Dining room with extendable dining table
- Enough chairs for all guest to dine together.
- Carefully selected & bespoke artwork showing off the local area.
- Fully-equipped kitchen with wine fridge
- Washing machine plus airer and pegs for drying
- An iron and ironing board are available.
- As in any specific property of this age, the bathroom is located downstairs, through the kitchen, which can get a little chilly, so we would advise having some cosy slippers.

- Outside table and chairs plus a parasol can be found at the property.

FIRST FLOOR:
- 1 Master King sized bedroom
- 1 double bedroom

Guest access
The entire home is for the private use of our guests.
We'll provide instructions for a smooth contact free check-in before arrival.

Full access to the entire property and outdoor area. Free, superfast fibre broadband Wifi throughout your stay.

Before arrival, We will provide details on where to find the keys, explain a few things around the cottage, and would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the local area.

You will find a guidebook at the property with our personal suggestions on what to do in Canterbury and where to eat/drink.

We will be available 24/7 for any questions or issues you may have throughout your stay!
Other things to note
- The layout is a traditional terrace with bathroom on the ground floor at the back of the house, accessible via the kitchen.

- With the very user-friendly Hive thermostat located at the bottom of the stairs, you can control the heating by simply turning to adjust to your desired temperature.

- Please note that the stairs that lead to the first floor can be a bit steep for the elderly or very young. (We have provided a removable stairgate should you be concerned about the movements of small children.)

• There are DVDs, books as well as some toys and games. (Please ensure all games pieces are returned to their boxes.)

• We welcome children at the property and provide a highchair, travel cot, bath safety mat, and child-friendly plates and cutlery. There are also pens, pencils and colouring books.

• The fireplace is for decoration only and not to be used.

• The main antique dresser in the master bedroom is a unique piece of furniture that we have rescued and retained following its survival from a fire many years ago. You will notice the blown glass mirror, which adds to its character and charm.

• The property strictly accommodates up to 4 adults and two children only. This is due to the size of the property and suitable beds available; other than the provision of a travel cot for a baby, we cannot cater or allow for additional guests.

• There is a strict NO SMOKING (or vaping) policy at the house. Smokers must smoke outside the property and dispose of cigarette butts safely that do not impose on future guests or the public. Please note: The use of any 'recreational drug' is strictly prohibited, and if its use is indicated, you will be asked to leave immediately.

Supermarkets
There are 2 Sainsbury's Local stores situated 4 & 7 minutes in opposite directions of the property.

Local Restaurants
You are truly spoilt for choice and literally a minute or so from some of the nicest places to eat from your regular favourites - Zizzi / Ask / Five Guys / Bills to some independent gems including Cafe Des Amis and Choms Choms. Some of our personal favourite pubs are The Unicorn in St Dunstans, The Parrot, Thomas Beckett and The Old Buttermarket - here's a link that includes some other great pubs - https://www.greatbritishlife.co.uk/food-and-drink/10-pubs-with-pretty-beer-gardens-in-canterbury-7219638

Local Attractions
There are lots of lovely areas to see and plenty of parks, we recommend visiting Westgate Gardens and maybe trying punting down the River Stour (only a few minutes from the cottage). There is also an Escape Room a few minutes away within the historic Westgate Towers.

Canterbury West Station is the closest (10 min walk) but Canterbury East is also walkable (12 mins)
