The George is a wonderful family home, offering stylish and spacious interiors. The accommodation would be ideally suited to families or friends and is set in a lovely quiet and private setting with an enclosed garden, ideal for children. The open plan sitting and dining room with bifold doors out to the garden offers a tasteful and relaxing space for dining in the summer months. Cosy up by the log burning fire on those chillier evenings with a glass of wine after a day of exploring on the beach. The George is a beautiful and peaceful spot for a coastal break in Kent.

The George in Walmer sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms; 1 king size bedroom with an en-suite, 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom. Suitable for families or friends. Underfloor heating throughout downstairs and radiators upstairs. All bedrooms have blackout blinds.

Electric gates leading to ample private parking directly in front of the house.

Ground floor

Kitchen/Dining Room
Open plan kitchen/dining room, table to seat 6-8 and breakfast bar with two stools. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, double oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and ample storage. There is no coffee machine but there is a cafetiere available.

Sitting Room
Sitting room has a large corner sofa, wall mounted TV, log burner, armchair and decorative lighting.

Double bedroom (sleeps 2) Double bed, wardrobe, bed side tables and lamps.

First Floor

Bedroom Two
Master bedroom (sleeps 2) King size double bed, wall mounted TV, en-suite bathroom with walk in shower with an over-head shower unit. Views to the garden.

Bedroom Three
Double bedroom (sleeps 2) Double bed, wardrobe and an armchair.

Bedroom Four
Twin bedroom (sleeps 2) Two single beds and storage space.

Bathroom
Family bathroom with a freestanding bath tub and large walk in shower with an over-head shower unit.

Outside
Patio with ample garden furniture and seating. Decorative lighting surrounds the garden.
There is a large table and chairs round the back of the house in a private setting, perfect for dining outside on those warmer evenings.
Climbing frame for children.
Sun loungers.
BBQ - charcoal. Please provide your own charcoal for the BBQ.

Things You Need to Know

Towels and linen are provided - no beach towels.
All logs for the wood burner can be provided for an additional cost - optional when booking.
Children must be accompanied by an adult when using the climbing frame, and do so at own risk.
Please note check in is 4pm and check out is 10am.

House Rules
We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages to this beautiful holiday home. Should any damages arise please note charges may be taken from your security deposit.

Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
Pets are not allowed at this property.
Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
Please note parties (including hen and stag do) and loud music are not permitted.
Please note quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am. Please be respectful to our neighbours.

Perfect family holiday close to the beach

Our family had a lovely holiday at The George. Just a few minutes walk to the beach, perfect for going for a quick dip in the sea. Great living space for the family with a well equipped kitchen. Really like the seclusion from the road and the drive with lots of parking space. Our dog Rosie enjoyed lying out on the patio. Would happily stay here again.

Could be an excellent house

Air conditioning needed upstairs as the bedrooms were unbearably hot to sleep in in the hot days, as the windows only opened a small amount. The sofa needs replacing as the overlarge seat cushions were all shapes as if jumped on for 6 months, and the 30cm back cushions should be zipped in place to the sofa but all zips were broken so just sagged down Most of the glazing of the crockery is cracked. The shower head in the bathroom only delivered a jet wash type spray or a thin deluge. If the above items are attended to we would highly recommend it

Excellent Location - Perfect for group getaway of any age

We have a wonderful girls weekend at the George - there were 7 adults and we had more than enough room and facilities for us. The house is also really well equipped for guests of all ages, and would be great for children as well. It was a glorious weekend weather wise, and the garden was perfect for relaxing in, and the play frame is a great touch for younger guests. Location wise its perfect - less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and also close to a few shops for picking up supplies. There is also plenty of parking space, and the whole property is fully secured by a security gate. The only really minor negative would be that the fridge is quite small for a property that hosts 8 people, so would perhaps recommend an extra/larger one. Other than that, our stay was a 10/10 experience! And the team at Keepers Cottages were fabulous in the lead up in assisting with questions and recommendations. I would highly recommend this property for a group stay in Deal.

Great mid week break

Very Spacious property with comfortable beds and all mod cons. Large outdoor areas ensuring you can always be in the sun WIFI good. 5 mins walk to seafront or a pub & a 20 minute walk into deal or walmer train station A couple of minor issues addressed promptly by owner.

Perfect for family holiday.

Comfortable rooms and lovely light open plan space. Plenty of room for our family with a toddler and dog. Secluded garden with plenty of outdoor furniture. Loved the fairy lights. Close to shore but a fair walk into Deal Town ( too far for our elderly relative). great base for exploring the area.

Go with the flow

We loved the 'flow' here - the open-plan layout of the ground floor was especially good for socialising, with the large kitchen leading on to the dining/living area and the enclosed garden. The kitchen was well stocked, with everything in a good condition (except the BBQ which disappointingly was too rusty to use). We did run up against a lack of fridge space and wished there was a second fridge. There were a few other minor niggles such as lack of shelf space in the bathroom/shower, lack of information about use of gadgets/controls and the lack of a doorbell outside the electric gates, which we needed for a delivery. However Keepers Cottages responded quickly and efficiently to our calls. As well as being near the beach, the location is good for buses, if needed, into Deal and elsewhere. Having a downstairs bedroom is helpful for the less mobile. Overall The George is a lovely place for a holiday stay.

Lovely property in bustling Deal

A lovely modern house in a quiet suburban area. Very much a home-from-home feel, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at The George. The house was well equipped, clean and spacious. Highly recommend the house and Deal.

A week at The George

We found The George to be exactly as described. It provided a comfortable and convenient base from which to enjoy our holiday. Tucked in on a street off the Dover Road it was quiet whist also handily placed to drive or walk to/from. We travelled to & from Margate by train and walked the coastal path to Sandwich, returning by bus. There is a charming cafe , "The Corner" nearby that serves excellent breakfasts, brunches & lunches. Deal itself is well-served by a wide variety of places to eat. We would recommend "Soul Chef Kitchen" (in the Port Arms) for authentic Jamaican food and "Engel's Paradise" for something totally different (terrific Polish food served in an unlikely setting). The team at Keepers Cottages were a pleasure to deal with.

Wonderful time

We had a wonderful stay at The George, the house had all we required, and the garden is lovely. The location is great, a short walk to the beach, and close to the centre of Deal. We would definatley stay here again.

Family time together

With a daughter and young family living in Holland the south coast is a great place to meet up. The position is perfect, easy walk into Deal, the garden proved to be a lovely place for a 3 and 5year old to let off steam and it was safe for our dog. Parking for our 2 cars, enough bathrooms for 4 adults and 2 children, a table large enough to seat us all, not only to eat but also to play games (more bonding time), added to this the sun shone…….

Lovely house

We had a great time and the house was lovely and much more spacious than it seemed in the photos. Really well positioned for both Thanet locations and places like Folkestone too. Our 5 year old loved the climbing frame and swing in the cottage. It could just have benefitted from more storage or surfaces in the bedrooms - a small dressing table and mirror would have been really helpful and easily fitted.

Wonderful family stay in Deal

We spent a lovely stay (10 days) in a spacious, clean, tidy, full equipped house. We have appreciated the huge kitchen, the comfy heating, the clean bathrooms, the easy parking, the big TV screen. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough to stay outdoors in the garden but everything looks promising. Location was perfect, quiet, but not too far from the sea and Deal center was reachable within half an hour by foot. And cherry on the cake the welcome pack with local products was delicious.

Excellent house for families

A great holiday home for young families. Beach and plenty of castles- what more could you want? The property is spacious, well equipped, with excellent outdoor playthings for the under 10s. Secure garden too, which is a bonus. We were blessed with good weather so the bifold doors were very much appreciated.

Second time as good as the first!

This is an outstanding property. So clean and well designed. Garden is relaxing with lovely play equipment for the children. Very pleasant short walk to wild Walmer beach,Walmer Green and great play park. Lots to do within a short drive
