Hosts were very accommodating with check in. We also forgot a key and they were kind enough to let us in. Area is very cute and walkable and the house is very neat!

We're 2 families of 9 who stayed in this home for 3 nights while exploring Lisbon. The house is very well designed and we loved the location particularly because of all of the small restaurants in the area. Communication with host was great. Would happily stay in this home again.

In the middle of Alfama, close to many sites and very interesting streets. Be prepared for steep climbs and many stairsteps on surrounding streets. Apartment is set up well for large group able to navigated steps in the apartment. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Beautiful, spacious house in a top location in the lively Alfama district. About a 20-minute walk to Bairro Alto. Communication with the property manager was good and clear.

We loved the location in the old city. Surrounded by shops and good restaurants. The property was in great shape with five en-suite bedrooms. The managers always responded quickly to any questions we had. There were ten in our family group from highschoolers to grandparents and we all enjoyed the house. As long as you can negotiate stairs and the steep hills of Lisbon, you will not regret choosing Casa historical de Santo Andre.

Wonderful Property, excellent location!

Wonderful large property in a fantastic location! Loved everything about it for our large group. The only catch, a few of my emails to the property manager, both before and after booking and during our stay, went unanswered….

Beautiful apartment and location in Alfama could not have been better! Loved exploring Lisboa and surrounding . We walked many hills and also did a river cruise to Belém. Loved the TukTuk ride with Pedro! Loved all the local Portuguese dishes and Fado night at O Prego! Great communication with our hosts. Thanks Adelaide for your hospitality and support! We had a wonderful 7-night stay at this Alfama property and highly recommend it, especially for larger groups. Our party of 10 fit perfectly with 5 spacious bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, giving everyone plenty of comfort and privacy.The location is fantastic for exploring both Alfama and Baixa on foot. Restaurants, shopping, historic sites, the waterfront, and small markets for snacks, water, fruit, and pastries were all just steps away.The house was modern, comfortable, and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything needed, including soap, sponges, and towels, and all bathrooms were stocked with shampoo, body wash, and hand soap. Every bedroom had AC, and the soundproofing between rooms was excellent. While there is city noise with windows open, it was very quiet once closed.The app-based entry system was easy to use, and having separate codes for each couple made access simple for our large group.A few minor things could use some TLC (a few curtains and a cracked bathroom shelf), but nothing that impacted our stay.Future guests should know this is a busy city-center location, so plan accordingly for tour pickups/drop-offs. Alfama is very hilly with uneven cobblestone streets, so good walking shoes are essential.This is the oldest part of Lisbon, full of charm and history around every corner. We walked 10 miles a day exploring and loved every minute. We would absolutely stay here again.

The rental accommodations were great for our family. Enough room for everyone and sitting around the kitchen table at the end of our day was perfect. Having a small store, several cafes, little bars, restaurants, and viewing areas near by was very convenient for us. There is A LOT of walking up hill or down hill from the VRBO but we were very aware of the walking involved before our stay. We made several meals and did laundry during our stay so we did use the appliances and there should be instructions for the stove, microwave and washer/dryer. We figured it out but it took as a couple of tries. There is plenty of dishes and cookware for our group which was great for all of us to enjoy a meal together. There were several dish towels but no dish clothes for dishes, could have been several rolls of paper towels also but we did buy our own at the local store. For a large group of 8 people the accommodations worked out very well.
