Golfers can choose between a 9-hole or an 18-hole championship course, both easily accessible from the village. Boat hire is also available locally for sightseeing and fishing trips a memorial way to take in the beautiful of the Island. The rugged coastline is a walker's paradise with 125 miles of footpath most of which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. If you you enjoy birdwatching or simply enjoy breathtaking scenery why not visit the RSPB Reserve near South Stack Lighthouse. A scenic fifteen minute drive along the coast road. There is an abundance of wild life that can be spotted here and the newly refurbished cafe is a must to visit. The lighthouse can be accessed during the summer months. Other local nature reserves include the 200 acre Penrhos Coastal Park. This beautiful area has woodland walks, picnic areas, flower meadows, and many species of wading bird and wildfowl. The nearby townhouse of Holyhead has the longest breakwater in the UK. Facing the breakwater is the promenade, a marina and a maritime museum with an excellent bistro. The Breakwater Country Park off the promenade has some stunning scenery, set against the backdrop of Holyhead Mountain. There is also a childrens' sensory play area, scenic trails, a lakeside walk and cafe.
Holyhead is of course famous as a main access route to Ireland. Just a couple of hours away by sea ferry. Also in Holyhead is the Ucheldre Centre. Well worth a visit a former convent chapel. It is now an art lovers paradise with exhibitions, music and Theatre events. There is also a cinema , bookshop and cafe.
For something different take a trip to nearby RAF Valley. You can watch the pilots training as they take off and land the fast jets.
The apartment is ideally situated for exploring the local area being only 5 minutes away by car from Junction 2 of the A55 Expressway giving you access to Snowdonia and Caernafon.
There are plenty of local attractions to such as The Sea Zoo, Model Village, Foel Farm Park, Pili Palas Nature World, Beaumaris Castle, Plas Newydd Country House --- to name but a few. Art centres, museums, forests, lakes, even the village with the longest name in Britain.
Anglesey has some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK. Beautiful sunsets, fabulous beaches and is reputedly the driest county in Wales. You can really get off the beaten track and chill out. With a distinctive mystique and peculiar charm all its own maybe it's why visitors return year after year.
