Delightful apartment for rent in Via San Giovanni in Florence. Located in the wonderful historic district of San Frediano, a stone's throw from the river and many of the city's main attractions, the apartment has recently been renovated and refurbished with great care. The property is located on the second floor of a typical Florentine Oltrarno building overlooking a quiet street with little traffic. The apartment is spread over three levels and consists of a large living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, walk-in closet, two bathrooms and a terrace. San Giovanni House can accommodate up to a maximum of 3 people as one bedroom has a double bed and a single bed (located in a mezzanine), while the other has a double bed. The first bathroom has a shower and the second has both a shower and a bathtub. The house is equipped with numerous amenities: ceiling fans in the bedrooms, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, oven and everything needed for cooking.

Confortable et very well located !

My sister and I had a Lovely stay. Taking possession of the apartment was easy. The welcoming party was very efficient but not very talkative. We would have liked more informations about the surroundings of the apartment, for example where to find the the closest Supermarket. This said, the apartment was as presented on the pictures and it was close to everything.

Pretty great place and nice neighborhood too. Keep in mind you have walk up 2 flights of stairs. Bathrooms were spacious. Host was quick to reply to my message and very helpful.

There was limescale build up in the master bathroom covering the holes in the shower head making it impossible to shower so I had to use the other bathroom. Lots of bugs crawling around, and no AC for a place that’s really hot specially during the summer

Stay at San Giovanni House (during heat wave)

We stayed in this VRBO during a heat wave and this property does not (and didn’t claim to) have AC. So we did our best to stay cool. Some great things: Easy walk from the train station and to the city center (but not close)Nice quiet neighborhood Really beautiful food terrace that was our savior in the eveningsReally lovely apartment that had all the spaces we needed. If we had been there in different weather, it would have been awesome. Things that were not great:While we knew there was so AC, of the three fans in the house, only one worked. There was a bad odor in the second bathroom. The shower head in the main bath was clearly not the right one, and it fell off if you nudged it. (Fine for me - I’m short so didn’t nudge it. But it was a major frustration for my normal sized husband.)Also things like towel bars fell off with just the slightest use. We stuck them back in but 
The mosquitos. To deal we had the window open but got seriously bitten by mosquitos. Bring repellent to sleep and/or cortisone for the morning. No hand towels of any sort. They provided towels but not wash cloth or hand towels in the kitchen. It was ok. We lived. But it was odd and made it hard to do basic things. Regardless, Firenze is a beautiful city and we appreciated our visit and the lovely people around us.

Perfect weekend stay

My family of 4 stayed at this property in mid-May and it was perfect for our needs. Very clean, great location, and beautiful apartment. The terrace was the best part. Only complaint I have is the light switches were very confusing. I wish they would have labels on the lights so we know how to turn off the hallway. Very small issue. Other than this everything was great!

More than what we expected!

Our family of four (including two teenagers) had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful Florence apartment for four nights via VRBO, and it exceeded all our expectations.What We Loved:Spacious Comfort: The apartment was much larger than anticipated. The cozy living room provided a perfect gathering spot, and the long hallway led to our children's room and our master bedroom. Both rooms offered ample space, allowing us to feel at home and relaxed.Relaxing Bathrooms: Both bathrooms were equipped with showers and were impeccably clean. The master bathroom featured both a tub and a shower, which was incredibly useful after long days of exploring the city.Smooth Check-In: Check-in was seamless. Oscar, who assisted us, was kind and friendly, offering a warm introduction to Florence. He provided helpful information about the area, making us feel immediately welcome.Responsive Host Team: The host has assembled an excellent team that manages guests' needs 24/7. Perfect location

Our family of four absolutely loved this space! Great location in a sweet, less touristy part of Firenze. Had three of the best meals of our entire two week trip in Italy just blocks from the apartment. It was clean, comfortable and updated with a wonderful soak tub too!

A little dusty

The location was convenient. The apartment worked for us and our stay. The size was perfect. The apartment was very dusty. The light fixtures and the wardrobe all needed a good dusting. I would stay again, I would just ask for it to be well dusted.

A Wonderful Stay!

This flat is so charming - and right in the heart of Florence! It was exactly like the pictures. Check-in was a breeze and our rep provided us with great recommendations. We had a small issue with a leaky toilet, but they sent someone out immediately and it was fixed very quickly. We were within walking distance of so many wonderful things. We truly enjoyed our home away from home here.

Smooth sailing in a great location

With only one night to stay in Florence, we wanted to find a place that was comfortable enough to sleep 4 and close enough to the action without being in the middle of it. San Giovanni house fit the bill on paper and in person! It was very spacious, and having 2 separate full bathrooms was fantastic. The rooftop patio was a very pleasant surprise! The check in process was convenient and easy. The only negative comment would be that the beds were very very hard. Otherwise, perfect stay!

Great location!

This was a charming apartment for our staying in Florence. Unit was very clean with an awesome view from the top patio. This may not be suitable for people with physical limitations as you actually have to climb three flights of stairs before you get to the apartment door, and then a short flight into the actual apartment. Communication was great with the host. We were met by Erica, who was very friendly and helpful with directions to restaurants, etc.

Enjoyed the Stay!

Loved the stay - the apartment was lovely, the area was lovely and stay was pleasant. Pejman the communicator and facilitator of the property was extremely helpful and kind. However, it would be wonderful to have an Air Conditioner in hot and humid weather.

Great Location, great appartment

They only complaint i would have about this place is it doesnt have AC. They dont say that they do so no worries there but we did stay here in July during a heat wave which made things a little hot. This apartment is amazing would stay here again, just a little outside the main part of Florence (10 min walk) right by an old city wall. Great food close. Great managers, very responsive. Very cool roof deck.

Cozy stay

Great property with views from windows and terrace. Small kitchen with working fridge. Big spaces to hang out and spaces between bedrooms and bathrooms. However, this unit DOES NOT have AC. The thermostat from the old unit read 33C/88F upon arrival. We had to open windows and use fans provided. Slightly uncomfortable temp for sleeping but overall, good property.

Recommend San Giovanni house

Great stay at San Giovanni house. We liked the location and enjoyed the more local feel of the Oltrarno neighborhood. Best part of the house is the roof patio to take in fresh air and church bells ringing and views. Easy walk from the train station. Highly recommend!

Great stay

We had a really great 2 week stay in this apartment! It was clean and spacious and in the perfect location away from the hustle and bustle yet extremely close to the most amazing restaurants. Being American, we would have preferred the beds to be a bit less firm, but we managed. We also stayed two weeks and cooked quite a bit - a bit of a tight kitchen with not many items to cook with, but we made it work! The hosts were very accommodating and it was a great stay.

Great apartment in lovely San Frediano.

This is a fantastic apartment. Spacious 2 bedrooms on a quiet street, with two showers and a bath and a functional kitchen. The location is great -- very near terrific food -- including great pastries and two excellent gelaterie.
