**34 Coney Street - a brand new holiday let development of the highest quality right in the city centre**

Coney Street, York's premier shopping street was home to some colourful characters down the ages. In 1150, the main street in York, was called Cuningstrete, the King's Street. It ran from Ousegate right to the Museum Gardens. By the 18th century it was the site of the seat of government in the city, with the Guildhall and the Mansion House in pride of place. But it was in the 19th century that it became a shopping centre par excellence, with high class fashion establishments, costumiers, furriers, milliners, linen drapers, pianoforte warehouse, bookshops and jewellers, as well as the home of York's first department store, Leak and Thorp which opened in 1869.

The Viking Suite

This luxury suite placed at the top of the building has a fabulous view of the York Minster. Part of the roof of the building has been replaced with glass, enabling you to sit in your own private hideaway with views that will keep you entertained for hours. Throughout the apartment there are subtle nods to the ancient Viking settlers of York, amongst which is the striking tribal style patterned wallpaper, inspired by Viking carvings. Furniture and fabrics have been chosen to reflect the colours within nature and the outdoors, ensuring high quality fabric and beautiful textures.

There is a lounge complete with Smart TV, comfortable seating and hand crafted furniture. Further in and you enter a fabulous glassed area with a bar area and seating so that you can admire the world renowned York Minster. There is a sumptuous double bedroom for resting after a fun day out in York or a fabulous evenings entertainment. Complimented by a luxury shower room where you can take your time getting ready to go out into York, which sits only a step away from the front door. You are surrounded by fantastic places to eat and drink, theatres, world famous race course and 100 of years of history - a lot of which can be seen from your own private viewing deck.

This is a truly special place, right in the very heart of the stunning historic city of York.

Although there is no parking with the apartment, there are a variety of paid for parking options close by. Just enquire for details.

Great location

The location alone is worth paying for - although there can be some noise from the streets in the evening it's worth it to be right in the heart of the city. We were in the Viking Suite and generally the room is amazing. The door to the bathroom needs the handle looking at as is quite hard to open from the inside, especially if you have damp hands, but other than this all good

In the heart of the city with a view

The Viking suite is an amazing space right in the heart of the city, the view of the minister is outstanding, it really is value for money. The apartment is up steep flights of stairs, even made me out of breath and I workout, but it is worth the effort. Only stayed a night, any longer and it really could do with a microwave or means of making/heating/cooking even basic food. A kettle and coffee machine very much limits your options and York is expensive. Would I return, most definitely but I’d take an eye mask as there is no door or curtain into the bedroom.

A memorable stay in a great apartment

We decided to book a night in York as an early Valentine’s night before the rush, and because our first baby is due in a few months so we might not get a chance to do it for a while! We booked this apartment as we wanted to stay in the centre and stay somewhere nicer than usual - the penthouse Viking Suite was really good value for money and the view looked amazing so we opted to stay there. We were new to self checking in but the whole process was really easy and we were able to check in a couple hours early too as the room was empty. The decor and the view was lovely, it was totally silent and nice and warm so we had a really relaxed night’s sleep and enjoyed cuddling in front of the TV after a long night in the city. The shower was fantastic too. The only things to make it better would be a microwave or something for cooking, and somewhere convenient to hang our coats. The floor was also a little dirty when walking barefoot in the night but it wasn’t a huge problem or anything that would put us off staying again.

Very pleasant stay in York.

The apartment was central to everything we wanted to see. Views of the minster were lovely but wasn't aware of the amount of other buildings in view as not shown in pictures. Apartment was lovely and clean and very comfy. Only downsides were we couldn't get the TV in the bedroom to work with free view (we did manage to watch all4 instead after a lot of fiddling with the remote) and that we temporarily couldn't get in one of the nights- sorted itself out thankfully and it got checked out the next day which was appreciated.

Break from the kids

The stairs, don't drink too much and try to get up them unfortunately we did and it take us 10mins But joking aside the room is brilliant, clean, well designed and the location is perfect.

Wonderful stay in the Viking Suite

Had a fantastic stay in the Viking Suite. Location was excellent, right on a main shopping street, close to restaurants and to sight seeing. Room was modern and clean. Appreciated the coffee pods and essentials packet of milk, coffee and water. The room was extremely hot when we arrived as it was a very hot day and the windows were all closed. Soon got ventilation flowing opening all windows and using the provided fan. Would absolutely stay here again.

Living The High Life

Stayed in many hotels / apartments in York and this tops the list so far. Views to die for and real 5 star luxury at a reasonable cost . Most importantly it was quiet , really quiet considering you are very central. Cant wait to return.

Beautiful apartment

It is a beautiful apartment, everything comfortable, great view. It is details that make a perfect stay, though. We enjoyed the stay. It would be nice to have shower gel and shampoo on arrival, the only thing we had is just a small piece of soap. Also just 2 not full toilet rolls for 3 nights. I feel like those are inexpensive little things which would make the stay hustle free. But nevertheless, excellent apartment and great support from the team, they have always answered my questions through the email promptly and on point. Would stay again.

Superb stay in a central location

A superb stay in an amazing city centre location. The apartment is furnished to the highest standard with amazing views of York Minster. The smallest touches made this stay great such as the coffee machine and fridge. The only drawbacks would be that the shower/ wet and room floor does allow run off water to sneek around the shower screen and out of the bathroom door (this was stopped easily by a towel but one to remember if not solved). Also, a future tweak would be to either add a small door between the bedroom/ kitchenette or blinds to the main windows to offer a little more privacy for on the neighbouring buildings. But don't let this out you off, I can see why there are no blinds as the views are spectacular of the Minster. A superb stay and one we would like to repeat very soon!

Amazing stay in the Viking suite.

We had an amazing time staying in the viking suite. The apartment was easy to access with clear instructions form Stays York. Stays York made the whole process run seamlessly. The suite was very clean and felt very luxurious. Perfect for a surprise birthday treat for my partner. The view was amazing. The location was perfect too with only a few minutes walk to the main attractions, bars and restaurants. Fancy a bit of shopping? It's on your doorstep. Thank you for a perfect stay. Would highly recommend.

A wonderful Time in York

34 Coney Street is in the ideal location for all the sites and eateries, we had a great time its just around the corner from Betty's tea room and all the shps plus the shambles, the Minster is visible in all its glory from the the appartment. The appartment is on the 4th floor so be mindful of the steps and how much luggage you have. It is a little pricey but well worth it We had a great time!!
