Cottage located at the gates of Sologne, in the heart of the Blois-Chambord destination. You are 10 km from Chambord, 7 km from Cheverny, 18 km from Blois and 35 minutes from Beauval Zoo. Ideal starting point for magnificent excursions and discovering the Loire Valley with its large and small castles, its gardens, its cellars and its vineyards. You can criss-cross the paths on foot or by bike via the many arranged circuits.

Housed in the old barn of a pretty Solognote farmhouse that has retained all its old-time charm with its exposed framework and half-timbering, the cottage offers a comfortable and charming living space that can accommodate up to 6 people.
Ground floor: 1 Living room / Living room / Kitchen of 40 m2, 1 bedroom with 1 bed (160x200), 1 bathroom (shower), 1 separate toilet.
Upstairs: 1 Bedroom with 2 beds (90x190) + bidet and sink, 1 Mezzanine with 1 bed (90x190) 1 bed (120x190). Electric heating + wood stove.

Fully equipped kitchen with essentials provided.
Bed and bathroom linen provided, included in the price as well as end of stay cleaning.
Free WIFI.
Reduced rate for one week rental except July and August.

We had a nice stay at this quaint charming property. It was clean and check in was easy. It was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The garden furniture could do with updating.

This is a gorgeous little home, in the beautiful countryside of Sologne. It seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but is still close to a couple of little towns if you need groceries. The field behind is populated by deer, boar and foxes and we had regular visits from a heron. From here we were able to visit 8 chateaux within no more than an hour's drive, which was the idea behind the trip, and enjoyed relaxing in the sunshine when the sightseeing had worn us out. Charlene was there to greet us and show us round, and to assist with checking out. Everything was straightforward and easy - just what you need for a thoroughly relaxing break.

If you value peace & quiet this place is for you! This gorgeous property is set away from anything, including a road, an when you turn the lights off at night, silence! & it really is golden.The property itself is very well equipped, from the bathroom, a lovely shower, to the fully equipped kitchen an comfy beds. The main living area is very confortable (though there is no English channels on the TV, so we used our netflix account on the Ipad) but that really isnt a criticism. We found it an ideal spot to explore the loire valley as well as enjoy the peace in the evenings.Communication & check in was easy too! Recommended.

Lovely secluded house.

We had a wonderful week here in November. A beautiful, quiet setting in a large woodland clearing. Lots of wildlife, especially deer. The house is warm, comfortable and well equipped. It's an excellent base for exploring the many château, the lovely city of Blois, and the brilliant zoo at Beauval. We plan to visit again.

An enchanting cottage

A beautiful cottage nestling in a clearing in the forest. Peace and tranquillity abound. Even though the cottage is away from it all it is ideally placed for visiting all the glorious chateaux in the area. The property is well equipped and tastefully furnished making it a real home from home. We recommend it to anyone wishing to visit this area for either a long or short stay.

Perfect cottage in the Loire

We really enjoyed our stay in Fontaines-en-Sologne. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you would need and also has a barn area with a table tennis table, badminton and boules which we enjoyed playing. The gite is in a really peaceful location but it is close enough to the village and attractions. We particularly enjoyed the Grand Chambord natural swimming pool so would highly recommend this on a hot day. We also visited Beauval Zoo and Cheverny Chateau which were both excellent. Both Mme Louchard and Marie Claude were very welcoming and were easy to communicate with. We would definitely return!

Perfect French cottage in the middle of the Loire valley

This cottage couldn’t have been more perfect. The serene, peaceful location is close enough to drive to town but completely private backed by beautiful pasture and forest. The host was very responsive and friendly. The location is central to get to anywhere in Loire valley or Paris in 2 hours. Chateau chambord is only 15 mins from this cottage. While the location does require renting a car to get around, it is well worth the peace and privacy you have. You truly feel like a local staying here! Would definitely go back. Inside clean and well appointed And so beautiful!

Highly recommend

We had an amazing stay at Mme Sol’s house over Christmas. Unfortunately car trouble meant we were without transport but we spent the time relaxing, enjoying the full kitchen, comfortable lounge, fireplace, games, table tennis and badminton. The house is beautifully furnished, warm and fully equipped - everything has been thought of. Mme Sol and Mme Louchard checked in to make sure we were OK and provided advice and also bikes so we could travel to the village. We wished we could have stayed longer - maybe next time!

Cosy home away from home

Everything was as described. Directions to the property were very clear. Check-in was easy and the property manager who greeted us and the owner who arrived the second day of our stay were both very kind. Beds and furniture were very comfortable and provided linens were clean. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals and was clean on arrival. Spiderwebs were abundant throughout the house which is the only reason I can’t give 5 stars for cleanliness, however, this is as expected for a farmhouse and didn’t really bother us at all. We enjoyed our stay very much despite the rainy weather, which limited our ability to fully enjoy the garden. The location was very convenient to visit multiple beautiful chateaux in the region. Our children loved the two loft areas for sleeping and relaxing. We enjoyed seeing deer each evening we returned and even saw a sounder of boar run through the field at dusk one night. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again if I was in the area.

A lovely hidden cottage, yet close to all the Chateau and attractions. Very quiet and peaceful, with a well planned kitchen. I would say basic French is essential, but all the locals and the key holder were very patient and friendly, tolerating our rusty school French. We hired bikes from Jadi Vert in Bracieux, no english but very friendly and cheap bicycles that we used to cycle into Bracieux with our children on quiet roads to buy our bread and croissants every morning. We were unlucky with the weather, but the wood burner was an absolute joy at the end of a busy day sight seeing. This cottage was excellent value for money and its rustic charm and location near an authentic French village not over run with tourists (like us! ) Was perfect! Wifi worked but fluctuated - fine if you are holidaying not working. Beds firm but comfortable. Thank you Madam we loved our stay.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille. Le logement est tout à fait conforme à la description. Niché au cœur de la forêt, nous avons particulièrement apprécié la cheminée, le calme environnant et la visite de chevreuils. Les commerces sont facilement accessibles et les châteaux de la région se trouvent à proximité. La communication avec les propriétaires et la conciergerie a été très fluide. Nous recommandons vivement cet hébergement.

Ein sehr schönes, gemütlich eingerichtetes Ferienhaus mit allem, was man braucht. Sehr ruhige Lage, die zum Entspannen einlädt. Das oben liegende Zimmer hat eine mobile Klimaanlage, die bei sehr hohen Temperaturen auch dringend gebraucht wird.

Das Ferienhaus von Marie-Claude ist sehr gut ausgestattet und war sehr sauber. Wir haben drei Nächte in diesem sehr gemütlichen Ferienhaus verbracht und wir haben die ruhige Lage inmitten der Natur genossen. Das Haus liegt perfekt für Ausflüge nach Chambord und Blois. Wir empfehlen das Ferienhaus von Marie-Claude uneingeschränkt weiter und kommen sehr gerne wieder für weitere schöne Ausflüge an der Loire.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Le logement est parfaitement conforme à la description. La maison est très belle, très fonctionnelle et spacieuse. Située au milieu de la forêt, nous avons beaucoup apprécié la tranquillité et le calme. Les commerces sont très accessible (5-10 min en voiture) et les châteaux tout proches (20 min de chambord). Très bonne communication avec les propriétaires à l'arrivée et avec la conciergerie au départ. Nous recommandons vivement cet hébergement.
