The cottage was perfect for us. Kitchen was great and allowed us to make breakfast and set out for an unbeleivable day of hiking. Kitchen was well stocked and even had some great snacks and food from the host. This is a perfect location for a quiet stay on Skye and close to the natural wonder of the island. Even ran down to Glencoe for the day from this location. I hope we get to stay there agian one day!!!
A lovely stay in a quaint traditional building. Good location to see the island, beautifully clean and lovely to arrive to cake and items in the fridge. The log fire was a welcome extra! Lovely
I truly cannot imagine a better stay on the Isle of Skye. The cabin has everything you could want and more. The extra touches provided by the host (farm fresh eggs, bread, butter, etc.) are just icing on the cake. You are central to everything you are seeking to explore and surrounded by wonderful nature. You can adventure as much as you want, but you won't feel guilty about staying in, cozying up by the fire, and just enjoying the cabin as well. 10/10 recommend. No notes.
What an amazing cottage to come back to every night! Very clean, everything was stylish, modern and worked well. The bed was comfy and the views over the misty hillside were wonderful to wake up to. The surprise 'extras' on arrival were very well received. It was great we could park outside so entering and leaving were easy. Not many places leave such detailed instructions on how everything worked which was much appreciated. Overall a lovely stay!

Thank you for leaving such a lovely review. The Old Cottage is our pride and joy and we're so glad you loved it đź’•
Nice place. A little hard to find. Needs a bigger sign. Cobwebs everywhere. An “honest” book to help pay for electricity, was unexpected. Never seen that before. And certainly didn’t contribute when I already paid $600 to star here. . All in all. Nice place but heat isn’t good. No electric heat only space heaters and a fire place. Location was good for things we did. No restaurant near by. Hire was great at communicating. I would recommend this place if you know ahead, no heat or a/c. You must provide firewood and contribute to electricity.

I I feel i must respond to such negative comments for the benefit of future guests-
We use 'these 3 words' to locate the cottage. Guests get sent these in advance pf their stay and it takes you directly to the front door of the cottage. There is a sign at the start of the drive also.
There are most certainly not cobwebs everywhere! The cottage has an open beamed ceiling and we do get cobwebs up there which i totally accept. We bring in ladders every few cleans to get up there.
As it says in our welcome book, there is no obligation to contribute to electricity.
The cottage is heated by wood burning stove and there are also electric heaters. A basket pf logs is left for your arrival and we say in our welcome book where you can buy additional logs.
The closest restaurant is approx 10 minuted drive away. We do say in our listing that the cottage is in a rural setting.
Perhaps a modern property in the capital of our island, as opposed to a converted crofters cottage in a rural setting, would have suited your requirements better.
