Why Norman MacInnes and Sherryann Bourdeau chose Saint Patrick
Treetops Villa is less than two miles from and looks out over Sherry's home town -- Sauteurs. Norman fell in love with the spectacular view.

Treetops Villa was exactly as billed. It is a spacious house on a large acreage, giving true seclusion. Many tropical houses advertise cooling ocean breezes as an excuse for not having AC, but Treetops has a breeze that never stopped, and felt great. The gardens and whole ambience was very nice. The Petit Anse beach as well as other nearby beaches were first-rate, and almost empty.
Norman was in Canada, but nevertheless was the most attentive host ever, always available by text or email. He had great advice, which he should probably put down in a booklet to save him time.
Sauters, the nearby town, was definitely not a tourist / resort town, and my kids got to see what I feel is the real Caribbean. Actually, everywhere we went the people were extremely friendly and helpful -- easy to get lost so that really mattered. Along these lines, this is a truly self-catering property, and the nearby grocers have limited choices, so I'm glad we had shopped at the IGA in St George prior, and I would advise people coming here to stock up prior to heading up there (especially vegetarians/vegans like us).
Overall, would recommend this property to anyone wanting to avoid the lame, overpriced cookie-cutter resorts so common n tropical islands.
Thank you so much, Tom. I'm glad you and Tanya and your children enjoyed your stay. I'm sorry that Sherry and I did not get to meet you. (Neiva, our housekeeper, said you were "lovely"!)
I appreciate your advice about shopping at the IGA at Spice Island Mall for any special dietary needs. It is also wise to pick up ground coffee at the IGA, as the local grocers in Sauteurs only stock instant coffee!
Treetops Villa is located in the northwest of Grenada, 44 kilometres (27.3 miles) from Maurice Bishop International Airport.
You will either need to rent a car or hire a taxi to get to the villa from the airport.
The shortest and most direct route is by the scenic Western Main Road, which hugs the west coast of the island. Driving on this road after dark is emphatically not recommended!
Note that driving in Grenada is on the left.
Vehicles can be rented at the Petite Anse Hotel just down the hill from Treetops -- about a 10-minute walk. (It is wise to book the rental in advance of your trip.)
Treetops is accessible by a private driveway on the Mount Alexander estate, which connects it to the Prospect Road, a public road that has little traffic.
There is a bus terminus in Sauteurs, about 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) away (about a 10-minute drive). Here you can catch local buses to St. George's or Grenville.
The fish market and fruit and vegetable market are close to the bus terminus. There are two grocery stores in Sauteurs, as well as the marketing board, which sells fresh produce.
There are two banks with ATMs in Sauteurs.
