Welcome to Maris Cottage - a well appointed, large 4 bed house at The Bay Filey holiday village. Located near a boules court and within a short walk of the meadows this is a perfect choice for a large or two family holiday.

Enter into the property and use the large storage space for all your coats and shoes, Walk through the large dining room with extended dining table seating 8.

Off the dining room is a WC and ground floor double bedroom - ideal for multi generational family holidays. The other door leads to a large kitchen and lounge area with all the appliances you'll expect for a self-catering break including a large fridge / freezer and spacious lounge / seating area with an additional fridge for all your drinks!

The large kitchen / lounge to the rear of the property has French doors leading to a patio with NEW (June 2025) seating for 8. The lounge area has lovely NEW (June 2025) leather sofas, armchair and SMART TV.

Upstairs, the king size bedroom has a TV and an en-suite shower room with rainfall shower. There are a further two twin bedrooms upstairs. The family bathroom has a bath and overhead rainfall shower. Central heating throughout.

Parking is available in the resort car park, a mere 1-minute walk from the property.

Maris Cottage is a large pet friendly house and is ideal for a large family with space for 2 dogs!

This property is part of The Bay Holiday Village and all bookings gain direct beach access, unlimited use of The Bay Filey Indoor Pool, Baby Pool, Sauna, Steam Room and Gym. Some amenities are chargeable locally like food and drink, tennis and any activities operated by Away Resorts such as Archery and Crafts.

Sad to say but the cottage wasn't clean and the beds hadn't been changed. We for new bedding delivered at 10.30 when we discovered the beds weren't changed. The mattress in the main bedroom was so uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. Was so disappointed as when we have stayed before we had a better experience.

Lovely cottage, just a couple of things need rectifying

Nothing sinister but the shower in ensuite, nowhere to hold ur toiletries, sticky dining room table and no mop, needed to mop floor had to get down on hands and knees.

A family break

Always great correspondence before your stay. Easy to book and navigate the website. Great location for trips to the beach and surrounding areas. On site facilities really make a difference. Would definitely book again.

A great place for family holidays.

We had a four bedroom house which was more than adequate for my family. Bedrooms were a good size and beds comfortable. In my five year old grandson’s own words. “This is a very nice house”. The pub was disappointing. Service slow and food less than adequate. Location good in terms of proximity to the beach (a very good beach), easy to find and easy access to Filey, Scarborough and Whitby. The grounds were clean, well kept and looks like a smart housing estate rather than random holiday chalets. The family also enjoyed the pool.

Extended Family Stay

Having used Anchor Bay Holidays before we booked again through them and couldn’t fault the service received. Efficient from the booking to the actual stay, very prompt with information and clearly detailed on what to do and expect at arrival etc. I would certainly book again, but wouldn’t necessarily choose the same cottage. I have to say this time around we felt that Maris Cottage lacked a little TLC. It was tired around the edges and not as clean as the previous property that we had stayed in and booked via Anchor Bay Holidays. Some of the internal paint work could do with some attention (the stair banister for one!) Plus the carpets are looking tired and dirty in places. I’m assuming this could be from previous guests not removing shoes and walking throughout the house, which I feel is very disrespectful but of course you can’t blame the owners if this is the case. Top of the stairs there was a stain where the radiator had clearly been leaking! Seating area in the lounge not quite adequate when you are to full capacity in the cottage. We had to use dining chairs on an evening when we all wanted to relax and watch TV together. It was a dog friendly cottage but I have to give credit where it’s due to say it wasn’t noticeable and no obvious smell of dogs when arriving. Which is a bonus! WiFi excellent during our stay. Loved the baskets with games to enjoy. Plenty of crockery/glasses etc to live comfortably without having to wash up all the time. Lacked a washing up bowl in the sink as water would not remain within, the plug clearly let water out after you filled it up. Good job there was a dishwasher as it meant the need to fill and use the sink was limited. Liked the additional fridge space in the kitchen, great idea for chilling all the extra drinks! All in all a good stay, just needs some extra attention and it could be a fabulous place to return to.

Family get together

We booked 2 properties, via Anchor at The Bay. This cottage was very well equipped & comfortable. Pillows were quite bulky, but that was only our preference. I advised Anthony as we were leaving, that was our only issue. If we'd contacted him earlier it could have been rectified. Property was exactly as we expected after seeing the photos.

- Choice of 4 walks to The Bay Beach (5 mile long) with 3 walks being direct beach access and traffic free!
