Rose Cottage, in the heart of the Eden Valley

Will you be our very first guests? Cosy, quirky and comfortable Rose Cottage basques in the glory of the spectacular Eden Valley. In true escape to the country style, Rose Cottage will provide you with a fantastic base for adventure, relaxation, romance or family getaway. It is perfectly situated to enjoy all that the Eden Valley has to offer with endless, breathtaking, picture postcard views, whilst being close enough to explore the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales with ease.

Rose Cottage is light, bright and offers a spacious retreat for up to 3 guests. Formally the village Smithy it is now a charming cottage, boasting the comforts of new fluffy carpets, new kitchen and brand spanking new shower room. Guests are welcomed with a complimentary, home baked sweet treat on arrival to enjoy with a choice of teas or coffee. The fire will be ready to be lit and the wood basket will be stocked up with extra wood and kindling for you to enjoy at your leisure.

The cottage boasts a brand new well equipped kitchen with a new washing machine, fridge freezer, toaster, microwave and everything you would need for a comfortable trip away. With ultrafast fibre broadband you can also use the kitchen table to easily stay connected with friends and family or, if necessary, catch up on the email that just won't wait.

The sitting room has comfy couches and a lovely wood burning stove. Light floods the room with the triple aspect windows and you can catch up on your favourite Netflix series on the TV or just sit and listen in peaceful silence.

Upstairs, you will sleep in quiet comfort in either the king size master or quirky single room. Fresh, white, new bedlinen awaits with proper, full sized bath sheets provided as standard for your comfort. Both bedrooms have tasteful, made to measure blackout blinds to ensure a quality sleep.

Wash off the days adventure with the brand new power shower in a shower room akin to those in posh hotels. Face cloths are provided to reduce our environmental impact and for your use.

Shower gel, bath sheets, bath mats, hand towels and kitchen linen are all provided as standard.

Outside, the property benefits from a gloriously sunny, private patio. there is a table and chairs you can use at your leisure. We are working on planting the boarder and plan on seeding wildflowers for the insects.

The cottage enjoys a simply fabulous location. The views in the Eden Valley are expansive and there are multiple walks from your door steps. Gateways frame picture postcard views and wildlife is abundant - hares, swallows, swifts, hedgehogs, red squirrels, owls, bats, stoats are all residents here. Famed for its dark skies, indulge in some stargazing or hunting the aurora borealis when it's out. If you fancy visiting the honey pot hot spots of the Lakes, Pooley Bridge, Ullswater, Keswick, Whinlatter, Bowness, Ambleside and Grasmere are all within a very easy and reasonable commuting distance. More locally you have some incredible places to visit; Lowther Castle, Brougham Hall, Askham Outdoor Pool, Larch Cottage Nurseries, Cliburn Moss and Acorn Bank to name a few. Secure bike storage can be arranged.
