Unsanitary Conditions & Host’s Dishonesty

Our experience at this rental was disappointing from the start. Upon arrival, we had no check-in details and spent over an hour trying to reach the host. When we finally got into the room, we found it unclean—there was hair on the sheets, ants on the pillow, bugs on the walls, and a very dirty bathroom. Additionally, there was no hot water and very little water pressure, which was never mentioned in the listing.When I was finally able to speak with the host, she told me that she does not clean the rooms because VRBO hasn’t paid her in months. She also gave me mixed responses regarding a refund—at first saying there was nothing to refund, then asking for pictures so she could issue one, and later telling me again that there was nothing to refund.Due to the condition of the rental, we had to book alternative accommodations at the last minute, which was much more expensive. I would not recommend this property, as the lack of cleanliness and communication made for a frustrating experience. experience.
