Was a very nice stay. Nice little cabin sitting by a little creek. The water was running in the creek. Could have sat there and listened to that all day.
The stay at Kate's Creek cabin was absolutely lovely. Aside from the sulfur smell lol it was quite and exactly what we needed to get away from the annoying sounds of the city. The creek was a blast!
We really enjoyed our stay, was honestly one of our best rentals! The boys enjoyed the creek and we enjoyed the porch as well as exploring the creek areas. Thank y’all so much for sharing your space, would definitely be on our return!

Thank you Christine for your nice review. Happy you all enjoyed your stay. Please do come back again.
We enjoyed our long weekend!! If you want to get away, this is a great place to do it. We always look for a place that’s away from the “hustle and bustle” - We found it!
Very secluded and peaceful. This is by far the best place we have stayed on vacation and will be returning soon. The cabin is by far the most supplied place you will ever stay. The host are amazing and Mr John even rode over to draw a map where we could take kids fishing.
Hello, we really enjoyed staying in the Ouachita National Forest. First and foremost we loved the cabin. Nestled in the perfect spot surrounded by a beautiful little creek, the cabin makes you feel at home. Deer and other wildlife are abundant and the stars ar night are next level. Clean and comfortable definitely be back.
It’s the perfect place to relax. Whether it was sitting on the wraparound porch listening to the creek or taking a walk, it was the best 3 days we’ve had in awhile. The weather was also perfect. It was our 3rd time to visit Kate’s Creek Cabin & yes we’ll be back. The owners, John Carl & Lisa are wonderful people!
I stayed 3 nights with my 2 small furbabies. I had the most fabulous time just relaxing - reading, watching the wildlife and reconnecting with nature. I would love to return in the fall.
Serenity, Peace, Love, and Communication, with nature, wife, and our creator!
A place to truly disconnecting from the hustle and bustle!
Batteries have been recharged!
The property with the cabin and creek was exactly what we wanted and needed. We were able to spend our time sitting on the porch by the creek reading our Bibles for some much needed quiet time with God! Thank you for making your property be a little slice of heaven!
What a beautiful cabin and land..This is perfect place to get away far from the busy, every day life. Totally disconnect from the world and enjoy peace. The kids had to learn how to play with having electronics. 😆 Great quality time.
We had an incredible stay at this rustic yet well-equipped cabin near Big Fork, AR. The location is private, serene, and perfectly situated for exploring the Ouachita National Forest—whether you want to ride ATVs, hike, or enjoy the nearby water. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed. The wraparound porch was the highlight—we enjoyed coffee in the mornings and cocktails in the evenings while listening to the babbling brook and the sounds of nature. With no noise or light pollution, the stargazing was amazing. Highly recommend for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge in total peace.
This is what we were looking for. No internet, no phone service, no people.....just quiteness, wildlife, a gurgling brook, and peace. (Our only recommendation is that the streetlight in the field could be turned off so we could enjoy the stars under a dark sky.)
Our family enjoyed staying at this cozy cabin. We were able to savor our time together without the distraction of connectivity. Lazy days of poking around the campfire, creek, and surrounding hills followed by evenings of Monopoly, music, cooking, and reading. 4 humans and 1 dog filled up the cabin so just be aware if you have a large group. Five stars from my family.
This was our second stay at Kate’s Creek Cabin and there is a reason for that. The owners are the nicest people and the cabin/property is perfect. This cabin is the perfect place to retreat, relax, and unwind. We absolutely love the middle of nowhere feel mixed with wildlife and beautiful scenery. Within an hour of being there, we saw 15 deer And lots of other animals. The creek that runs through the property, offers an unbelievable ambiance that forces you relax. This place is heaven to me and my wife and we already can’t wait to rebook!
The property was private, secluded, and breathtaking. No wifi or cell service gave us the perfect opportunity to unplug and engage as a family. The home was well equiped with everything we needed including board games. The property owners were helpful, respectful, and friendly

Perfect place to escape from our crazy digital world!
When we pulled up the drive to the house, it was so quiet and secluded! I fell in love right away. The cabin is right next to the creek, and you can hear the creek babbling over the rocks from the cabin porch. speaking of the porch, the full wrap around allows you to sit in the shade and enjoy the view no matter what the time of day. The king size bed was very comfortable and we were able to sleep well! We saw coyotes & deer and several different types of birds throughout our stay. We had no cell phone reception at the cabin, whatsoever, which we considered a blessing because it let us disconnect from the outside world and just enjoy our time away. John came by briefly to say "Hi!" and to be sure we had everything we needed. They were excellent hosts. Highly, highly, highly recommended!

About the host
Hosted by John Karl and Lisa
John Karl & I live on our 150-acre property with our "4-legged kids" named: Takoda, Dax, Luke, Maska & Angus. Cousin Annie comes and stays with us occasionally. 4 cats named: Chester, Cheeto, Cubby & KoKo. We have been married for 40 plu years & have one child, John Jr. He works for the Philips Corporation & does lots of traveling. We love the outdoors, enjoy hunting, fishing, and riding around in our RTV. We also love to take off and do road trips around Arkansas. We grow a garden and love to share the vegetables when available. We also have yard chickens and fresh eggs to be given to guests if requested. At our cabin, you will have most of the comforts of home while also feeling isolated in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. We'll leave you completely alone unless you need something specific. Our cabin is your cabin during your stay and you won't have any human visitors unless you invite them yourself. Deer, birds, armadillos, squirrels, and an occasional wild turkey and bear may show up unannounced. Come have a great time at Kates Creek Cabin!
