The rooftop terrace with infinity pool is a masterpiece in relaxed living, surrounded by a hanging garden, with an outdoor kitchen & dining area. LIVING ROOM:
The light streams into this high-concrete-ceilinged room through the six large windows. The circular living room extends into the dining area and kitchen. Featuring De Gournay panels and local custom furniture as well as design classics. Here you have space to work with world class Internet, music & heavenly views.

KITCHEN & DINING ROOM:
Custom kitchen cabinets & island with marble tops set like a theatre ready for your seafront cooking. The bar area with Moroccan stools is a great place for relaxed meals lit by beautiful vintage Murano lights. The large custom dining table sits eight facing the sea, made with an ancient reclaimed wooden door ideal place for culinary feasts. Many guests book our recommended local chefs for a special evening with wine pairings and delicious local food.

SNUG ROOM:
Nestle in this cozy room with a book and glass of wine. Fitted with a large TV with streaming service & international channels. Books & games to play in an intimate space.

ROOFTOP TERRACE:
Your heavenly oasis inspired by the Marrakech rooftops where fun & beauty are all important as well as the views to the magical bay of Funchal. Large outdoor dining area all built from reclaimed wood and local wicker chairs, it’s the perfect picture setting. A concrete outdoor cooking space with barbecue and fridge let you linger here for as long as you like. Beautiful powder room with striped marble floors.

SWIMMING POOL:
Infinity swimming pool set on the rooftop terrace with magical Funchal harbour views. Pool can be heated at an extra cost although it gets sun all day long (heating must be requested at least 48h before arrival and for the entire stay). Heating cost is 95euro/day. The concrete pool is 4m by 3m, and 120cm deep. The pool is not very suitable for people with mobility problems or very young children

Large circular seafront room with 3 windows, custom extra-large King double bed (200cm X 200cm bed), cotton bedding and Moroccan throws. The chaise longue is the perfect spot for reading a book watch TV or for keeping an eye on the boats sailing past. A sanctuary within the house.

MAIN EN SUITE BATHROOM
Walk in shower facing the sea and seafront bathtub for an unforgettable soak with a glass of wine. Brushed gold taps and custom marble floors.

STRAW BEDROOM
Charming double bedroom with a King bed (180cm x 200cm), bespoke straw headboard where you can bask in the glorious sea views. A pretty armchair and Moroccan throw complete the idyllic setting.

PLUM BEDROOM
The straw custom headboards on the two single beds (100cm x 200cm each bed) are the perfect complement to the Madeiran grape coloured room and embroidered botanical pillows. With wardrobe space and a comfortable armchair, this is a bedroom for resting & basking in the sea views from the two large windows. Wall mounted TV.

The mineral paint of the blue walls complements the brushed gold taps, black and white marble floors & walk in shower perfectly.

AQUA BLUE BEDROOM
The showstopper custom headboards bring the room a designer touch and here you can sit on the windows´ stone ledge contemplating the views. Two single beds (100cm x 200cm each bed) with good reading light and wardrobe space. Wall mounted TV

EN SUITE BATHROOM
Everything in this space is beautiful and custom made. The walk-in shower is covered in vintage marble, with gold taps, a marble basin & and geometric floor adding to the drama.

GARAGE
Covered space for a one wide car (not longer than 420cm), the garage also has a marble washbasin for cleaning your beach gear and mountain boots. Yoga equipment kept here. There is also a little room here where the main bins are kept.

LOCATION
Set on a sea cliff in Rua do Lazareto, in the heart of the historic old town of Funchal (capital for Madeira island) where all the main attractions of the city are set but in a charming unspoilt natural setting. Okulus has two beaches nearby, Barreirinha & Sao Tiago for soul-enhancing year-round swimming. Once inside the house you feel completely sheltered from the city, the sixteen seafront windows lull the house with the sound of the ocean and get you back to the natural world. The airport is 15 min drive away.
