A thoroughly beautiful lodge. Very clean. The hot tub was lovely and great that it was set up and ready for our arrival. A tranquil place with plenty to do. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Lovely, comfortable stay
The lodge was very clean and comfortable however the hot tub was quite dirty on the day we arrived, it had lots of cut grass grass in it and lots of bugs which we didn't expect when we first opened the lid to use it and didn't get cleaned while we were there. This was a minor thing however it did say that the hot tub was checked daily and cleaned.
Other than that it was a gorgeous little break away with lovely walks to have with our dog around the lake and the cafe was lovely with fresh cooked food and a friendly welcoming atmosphere, best of all we could take our dog there with us as well.

Hi Adrian, We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Roadford Lake is such a beautiful location so we are glad that you and your dog were able to enjoy the location, the café and the walks. It is lovely to be able to take your dog away with you. We are surprised to hear that there was a problem with the hot tub as it is inspected and dipped by a member of staff on a daily basis. We are in a rural setting so insects can find their way into the water, but we have taken note and will now supply a net for guests to use. We hope that we are able to welcome you back again for another stay! Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team.

Bad stay
Had to be moved lodges as there was no hot water offer to move us but also offer to keep us in the same lodge with no hot water all weekend , we then moved lodges and when we got there the hot tub was absolutely freezing with no heat what so ever in it the lodge was dirty in some areas . All in all I wasn’t best pleased and won’t be returning or recommending!

Hello, Thank you for leaving us feedback. It was unfortunate that the first lodge that you stayed in had a problem with the hot water, so we did offer you a different Lodge which was luckily Violet lodge and you were moved there for your stay.
Violet lodge had been cleaned to the usual high standard after the recent previous guests had left, however I do apologise that you felt this may have not been in some areas. If we were to be contacted, we would have been able to rectify any issues faced. As we had moved your booking last minute, the hot tub had not been ready for an arrival as it had only just been emptied and re-filled! I am pleased that it was warm for you in the evening of your first day! We are sorry that these issues had occurred during your stay, however we are glad that we were able to move your Lodge and keep your stay in place. Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team.

Lovely stay, but some penny pinching which was disappointing
Firstly, as a positive, the lodge was very clean and tidy and the double parking spaces great for the 8 of us on our booking.
As it was a special (and expensive) family occasion, we had specifically asked for the lodge to be decorated for Christmas ….apart from the wreath on the front door the only other decoration was a very threadbare tree, which had no lights on, and only a few baubles which only went half way down the tree. It was so awful it was almost funny (but not when you saw lots of other lodges with beautiful Christmas decorations and trees all lit up). We definitely had tree envy when we saw the effort other lodges had gone to!
We were also really surprised not to receive anything as a welcome pack - not even a pint of milk or a biscuit! In other lodges in Roadford we have had wine, biscuits/ chocolate left for us ( throughout the year) not just Christmas. We have stayed in at least 8/ 9 times and violet lodge is the 1st one without any kind welcome pack which seemed very penny pinching.
The only other thing is there was no steamer, or enough roasting dishes for the Christmas dinner, which considering the lodge is for 8 people and booked for a Christmas break, was disappointing

Hi Sandra,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really pleased to hear that you found the lodge clean, tidy, and comfortable for your group.
We’re sorry to learn that the Christmas decorations did not meet your expectations. As the lodges are individually owned, each owner chooses their own festive decor, which is why you may have noticed variations between properties. We do apologise that the decorations in your lodge were not to your liking on this occasion.
With regard to the welcome items, every lodge is provided with the standard essentials pack, which includes tea, coffee, sugar, and basic cleaning products. The more extensive welcome hampers you may have experienced in the past are offered at the discretion of individual owners, and only a select few lodges provide these. We appreciate how this may have felt inconsistent as a returning guest. For future stays, we recommend reaching out to us ahead of your visit so we can confirm exactly what will be provided in your specific lodge and ensure everything meets your expectations.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We hope to welcome you back again soon.
Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team
