Town: The village of Llanarmon-yn-Ial is situated an equal distance between the towns of Mold and Ruthin. Llanarmon-yn-Ial has a shop, pub, Post Office, a church and a chapel, and provides a convenient base from which to explore the area. Within reach is the market town of Mold, which has a market twice a week, shops, pubs and Theatre Clwyd, the National Theatre for Wales. The hilltop town of Ruthin boasts attractive half-timbered buildings that are mainly clustered around St Peter’s Square, along with Nant Clwyd House, which is the oldest timber frame in Wales, Ruthin Gaol and Ruthin Craft Centre. Also close by are Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park and Clocaenog Forest, and further afield are the wonderful Snowdonia National Park and historic Chester and Liverpool. For keen mountain bikers, Llandegla Centre is 10 minutes away, Betws-y-Coed 45 minutes and Coed-y-Brenin, 75 minutes’ drive.
