Acerca de este alojamiento
A cottage that sleeps 10 guests in 5 bedrooms
Stop searching - you've just found the ideal holiday retreat. Sandbeds Farmhouse offers luxurious, character-filled accommodation with space for the whole family or group of friends. Whether you want to spend long summer afternoons in the garden, cosy winter evenings by the wood-burning stove, or simply unwind away from the rush of everyday life while still being close to charming towns and attractions, this property ticks every box.
Nestled on the owner's 100-acre farm, Sandbeds Farmhouse dates back to 1729 and sits between two stunning national parks—the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. With scenic walks starting from your doorstep and easy access to both areas, you'll have endless opportunities for hiking, exploring, and family activities.
Inside, the farmhouse feels like a true home-from-home, blending historic charm with modern comfort. Picture plush sofas gathered around a crackling fire, large inviting beds topped with fluffy towels, and peaceful surroundings promising a restful stay. Recently renovated with care, the cottage preserves its traditional character while adding all the conveniences today's guests expect.
The original part of the house features a cosy living room with two large sofas, an Inglenook fireplace with a wood-burning stove, Smart TV with satellite channels, and charming window seats overlooking the garden. Oak beams and the original dated spice cupboard add authentic period detail.
In the modern extension, an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area provides a bright and welcoming space for socialising at any time of day. Exposed brick walls and beams lend character, while picture windows and French doors flood the room with natural light. The well-equipped kitchen includes a range cooker, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher, making it easy to prepare delicious meals. Gather around the spacious dining table to share stories of your day, then relax on the large L-shaped sofa in front of the satellite TV. The adjoining sunroom is perfect for morning coffee or a lazy afternoon.
Practical touches include a utility/boot room with a freezer, washing machine, and plenty of space for drying walking gear. For guests who prefer to avoid stairs, the ground floor offers a super-king bedroom (convertible to twin beds on request) and a shower room with WC.
Upstairs, you'll find four generously sized bedrooms, each designed for a peaceful night's sleep. The first has a super-king bed (convertible to twins), two have king-size beds, and the fourth has a double bed. There's an oak-framed bathroom with a walk-in shower, freestanding roll-top bath, and WC, plus a second bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, and WC.
Outside, enjoy a large herbaceous garden and herb patch; perfect for adding fresh flavour to your cooking; plus a BBQ and plenty of private parking for up to five cars. Guests are also welcome to explore the surrounding farmland for breathtaking views across both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
All oil, electricity, bed linen, and towels are included. Two cots and highchairs are available. Private parking for 5 cars.
Please note: No smoking, vaping, pets, or hen/stag parties are permitted.
