On a Quiet Canal Near the Arsenale

Bedrooms 1
Space 500 sq ft
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This sunny, 50 sq.m, first floor apartment (not to be confused with 'ground floor') is in a corner building located on a quiet, yet active, canal near the gardens of the Venetian Biennial International Art Fairgrounds.

It is best suited for 2-3 adults or a couple with 1-2 children/adolescents).

Although the area is 'off the beaten (tourist) path', with all the local color of Venetian housewives doing their morning shopping at the fresh fish and produce markets, children playing in the two, rare 'green areas' of Venice, and people taking the time for a 'spritz' or an 'ombretta' and 'cichetto' (aperitves) before lunch or dinner, it is still in a very strategic position (all lines and Alilaguna stop at 'Giardini', our waterbus-stop) allowing our guests easy access to the apartment from the airport, train station, or city parking lot on the mainland.

Piazza S. Marco is a 10min. walk and the Rialto Brige is 15min. away on foot, but it's nice to know that , after a day of sight-seeing, you can get back home - and anywhere in the laguna (Murano&Burano, and the Lido - Casinò and Film Festival)-with the 'vaporetto' as all lines stop here.

Great Venice Apartment on a Canal, Steps From The Crowd

  • 5 of 5

We love this apartment & location. It is one vaporetto stop away from the Venice crowds, in a great neighborhood with good restaurants, grocery store, fruit/veggie street market, seafood street market, many bars, patisseries all within easy walking distance. We have stayed twice in this apartment, three times in the building itself and will return again when next we are in Venice. The apartment is well equipped, washing machine, cookware etc. immaculately clean, and a good very comfortable bed.

Selena who will meet you when you arrive is very helpful and friendly. As always Venice is amazing and this apartment feels like a home away from home.

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this fabulous apartment to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We found it to be "perfect" in every way. We loved the location, away from the crowds, in a wonderful little neighborhood with grocery store, restaurants and everything we needed. The apartment itself was well equipped, immaculately clean, good strong wifi, and everything you could possibly need to prepare meals which we did each night while we were there. Very comfortable bed. Close to Vapretto stop, just off the beaten "tourist" track. We will definitely try to stay here again when we next visit Venice.

The perfect corner of Venice!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week here during February (which is the best time to visit Venice, by the way, since it is the least crowded). This area of Venice is the least touristed and the most "Italian" in my mind. Yet it is within walking distance of everywhere and there is a vaporetto stop very nearby. The apartment is clean and cozy and the fact that it is on the corner gives it much more light. We will surely return here!

Venice Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent a lovely week in this apartment next to a quiet, picturesque canal. We walked out every day and explored all the different districts of Venice and were so pleased to be able to return home everyday with food to prepare in the well-equipped kitchen or just to open the windows and soak up the atmosphere. Gloria was very helpful and answered all our questions in detail and in a timely manner. We were close by a vaporetto stop and an excellent gelato shop so we often had one while waiting for the other! An interesting wide street of local shops was within 5 or 10 minutes of the apartment. We found the St. Mark's Square was actually more like 20 - 25 minutes walking but perhaps 10 minutes via vaporetto. The apartment was very clean and well-organized and there were no surprises. Thank you for sharing your lovely place , Gloria.

Perfect Venice Apartment - Live Like the Locals

  • 5 of 5

Great apartment, lots of light, clean and bright, a true neighborhood without the crowds. Perfect location, short walk to vaporatto , beautiful park just down the canal, great neighborhood for walking, Very safe and so quite at night but the canal does have some traffic which is rather fun to see the comings and goings of life in the neighborhood. It was so nice to see all the sites of Venice and then come home to a nice quite area, with local resturants and excellent food. We would stay here again for many reasons but mostly that the management was so kind and easy to work with on arrival, departure, and during our stay.

holiday from your vacation

  • 5 of 5

Especially if one is planning on staying for more than a week, which i highly recommend for venice, this flat is a wonderful choice. Easy to get to and from.. and situated wonderfully between the center of activity and the peaceful gardens (which are quite huge) that provide unique open space experience for this city! And Garibaldi street is also right around the corner from this apartment. It's well equipped kitchen can be well used with the nearby supermarket, shops and produce stands on the big avenue. Another unusual feature for venice is these wider streets, mostly local crowd and great restaurants and local shops..

The apartment itself is not modern, but very warm, comfortable and feels like your own home. I believe the price is great too for all that you get! I would highly recommend this flat for successful and stress free enjoyment of Venice! And Gloria is very helpful and kind.
